  • Upgrade from .NET 2.0 to .NET 3.5 problems

    I’m trying to upgrade our solution from VS2005 .NET 2.0 to VS2008 .NET 3.5. I converted the solution using VS2008 conversion wizard. All the projects (about 50) remained targeting to .NET Framework 2.0., moreover if I’m changing target framework manually for one of the projects, all referenced dll (i.e. System, System.Core, System.Data, etc. are still pointing to Framework 2.0. The only way to completely change targeting framework I found is to remove these references and refer them again using proper version of framework. Doing it manually is not best choice I think. 50 projects ~ 10 references each ~ 0.5 minutes for changing each reference is about 5 hours to complete. Am I missing something? Are there any other ways of converting full solution from .NET 2.0 to .NET 3.5? Thank you.

  • How do I destruct data associated with an object after the object no longer exists?

    I'm creating a class (say, C) that associates data (say, D) with an object (say, O). When O is destructed, O will notify C that it soon will no longer exist :( ... Later, when C feels it is the right time, C will let go of what belonged to O, namely D. If D can be any type of object, what's the best way for C to be able to execute "delete D;"? And what if D is an array of objects? My solution is to have D derive from a base class that C has knowledge of. When the time comes, C calls delete on a pointer to the base class. I've also considered storing void pointers and calling delete, but I found out that's undefined behavior and doesn't call D's destructor. I considered that templates could be a novel solution, but I couldn't work that idea out. Here's what I have so far for C, minus some details: // This class is C in the above description.     So I have a visual studio 2008 project setup for a project I've been working on however its a sub project of a rather larger code base which is crossplatform, so in order to make my project complaint with the main source I need to make my project nix compilable. Is there some way I can generate a makefile based off my vcproject? or if not is there someway I could generate a makefile any other way than writing it manually as it appears confusing as all hell when I open them up.

  • How to migrate large amounts of data from old database to new

    I need to move a huge amount of data from a couple tables in an old database to a couple different tables in a new database. The databases are SQL Server 2005 and are on the same box and sql server instance. I was told that if I try to do it all in one shot that the transaction log would fill up. Is there a way to disable the transaction log per table? If not, what is a good method for doing this? Would a cursor do it? This is just a one-time conversion.

  • pure as3 benefits to compiling with flex4 instead of flex3?

    If I have a pure as3 project that I have been compiling with flex3 from mxmlc, is there any reason to switch to using the mxmlc with flex4? I can use all of the flash 10 language features like Vector, 3D, etc., so that is not a reason to switch (or is there something I can't do?). But maybe there is a performance boost? Or is the exact same compiling tool and the flex code base is the only difference?

  • Handling Datetime with decimal '2010-02-14 20:18:58.313000000'

    In SQL Server I have some textual data in varchar fields I am trying to convert to datetime's. The funny thing is this data at some point was in a datetime field, exported to flat file, and now I am reimporting it. The problem is it is in this format 2010-02-14 20:18:58.313000000 and the conversion to datetime fails. I have no idea how it ended up like this when it was originally extracted from a datetime column. Basically a table was exported to a flat file by someone else. The original table was lost. I am reimporting back from the flatfile. I could just drop the decimal but this would be like throwing out some of the data. I'd like to maintain as much precision as possible. How can I import this data from the varchar column back into a datetime column and preserve as much accuracy as possible?

  • Java paint speed relative to color model

    I have a BufferedImage with an IndexColorModel. I need to paint that image onto the screen, but I've noticed that this is slow when using an IndexColorModel. However, if I run the BufferedImage through an identity affine transform it creates an image with a DirectColorModel and the painting is significantly faster. Here's the code I'm using AffineTransformOp identityOp = new AffineTransformOp(new AffineTransform(), AffineTransformOp.TYPE_BILINEAR); displayImage = identityOp.filter(displayImage, null); I have three questions 1. Why is painting the slower on an IndexColorModel? 2. Is there any way to speed up the painting of an IndexColorModel? 3. If the answer to 2. is no, is this the most efficient way to convert from an IndexColorModel to a DirectColorModel? I've noticed that this conversion is dependent on the size of the image, and I'd like to remove that dependency. Thanks for the help
