  • How can I spoof a jndi lookup for a datasource without a app server

    I want to test some new functionality which is part of an internal web app. This new code uses a database connection normally provided by an app server (tomcat). I do not want to recreate the entire web app on my local machine to test the new code, since I only need to run one function. Does anyone know how I can 'spoof' a Context, or Datasource, to retrieve the database config, without actually creating a web app instance on a server? Thanks

  • Installing a rails plugin from a Git repository

    I've been trying to install Shoulda script/plugin install git://github.com/thoughtbot/shoulda.git but all I get is: removing: C:/Documents and Settings/Danny/My Documents/Projects/Ruby On Rails/_ProjectName_/vendor/plugins/shoulda/.git > And the vender/plugins directory is empty. I have Rails 2.1.1 installed as a gem and have verified that 2.1.1 is loaded (using a puts inserted into config/boot.rb). Any ideas about what's going on? (this is on a windows box)

    I've installed statusnet 0.9.1 on a Windows Server via the WAMP stack and on the whole it seems to be fine. However, when logging in using IE7 or Chrome the browers invoke a file download, i.e. the File Download dialog is displayed.     I didn't think this was going to be hard. I have a commmand file, d:\a.cmd which contains: copy /b d:\7zS.sfx + d:\config.txt + d:\files.7z d:\setup.exe But this line of C# wont' execute it: Process.Start("d:\\a.cmd"); Throws Win32Exception: "%1 is not a valid Win32 application." Process.Start opens .pdf files...why not execute command files? Thanks in advance, Jim

The plugin integrates fine with Qt Creator but when I compile the program, I'm getting this error: "test.h: No such file or directory" Where test.h is the name of the custom widget.   • phpThumb cache problems

    I'm using phpThumb - the PHP thumbnail generator. 'phpThumb.config.php': $PHPTHUMB_CONFIG['cache_maxage'] = 10; $PHPTHUMB_CONFIG['cache_maxsize'] = 1000; $PHPTHUMB_CONFIG['cache_maxfiles'] = 10; but it does nothing...   • Why do some cookies have a '.' before the domain?

    Trying to share cookies accross 2 domains in asp.net, for some reason 1 domain has a '.' before the domain, and the other doesn't. Why is that? e.g: .staging.example.com and staging.example.com Is this something to do with how I create the cookie, or a web.config change? I am not using forms authentication, just creating a cookie manually.

In the ApplicationSettings section of the app.config for the parent assembly I have some settings that can be accessed in the normal intellisense manner (e.g. Properties.Settings.Default.SMTPServer). How do I access these settings from the referenced dll? I obviously can't use intellisense as they are not in the same assembly!

  • PC can't detect second RAM installed

    I have PC with 512 MB RAM installed (motherboard manufacture MICRO STAR, chipset P4M800), pc was running very slow so I decided to upgrade the ram. I installed CPU-Z and check the ram installed on the machine, also had a look at the stick installed. 512 MB PC 3200 400 MHz DDR but my mother supports 200 MHz and it was working ok. So I bought 2GB which I checked on manual that it support upto 2 GB Ram. So I installed 2GB PC 3200 400 MHz same as the old one, I plugged in both eventhough motherboard only support upto 2 GB but system spec only shows 512 (deducts 64 MB shared vga memory) I checked on CPU-Z, it detects both, slot 1 512 MB, slot 2 2048 MB, comparing screen for both slots, both the same, volt 2.5, frequency 166 MHz and 200MHz, only difference on those is 2gb ram shows under timings table 133MHz 166 MHz and 200MHz but 512 MB shows only 166MHz and 200MHz. I checked on Google and can't seems to figure out whats wrong with it. If I only plug in 2GB. Pc doesn't boot up like ram not working.With only 512 MB plugged in seems ok. Please help.

Namely: %USERPROFILE%.hgrc (is that a valid windows file name?) %USERPROFILE%\Mercurial.ini \Mercurial\Mercurial.ini C:\Mercurial\Mercurial.ini (no such directory altogether) %HOME%.hgrc (what is this directory) %HOME%\Mercurial.ini HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Mercurial (no registry created) .hg\hgrc (i had to create this file manually to solve my problem)

    It's very strange that the session will never expire if i use memcached store even i set config.action_controller.session :session_expires = 1.seconds.from_now And I use extended_fragment_cache to cache fragment, I meet the same problem <% Cache "my_page", {:expires = 1.minutes} do ... % never expired! Anyone know where's the problem?
