  • Powershell in CruiseControl.net to backup existing folder before deploying new version of the code

    Hi I would like to zip a bunch of files (.exe and .dll) before I overwrite them with the new build. Is there a simple way to zip files without using some sort of dll? Just creating a folder with the build number / date time stamp will also work great. How do I pass parameters from the cruise control build process into my Powershell script that will do the work then? Is this a sustainable way to do things? Thanks

  • Folder cannot be deleted

    I am using Windows XP Home Edition. When I try to delete a folder I have named cygwin. When I try to delete it or any file or folder within it, there is a long pause, and then an error pops up, saying: Cannot delete Cygwin: Access is denied. Make sure the disk is not full or read-write protected and that the file is not currently in use. I have tried deleting the folder and the files it contains with FileAssassin, and unlocking it with LockHunter. Neither report any errors unless I try to have them delete the file or folder, then I get an error message saying Access Denied. I have rebooted into Safe Mode to change the ownership, but I get Access Denied when I click OK or Apply. How can I delete this folder?

I'm able to pass parameters to the servlet in App2 also and I'm also able to receive response from the servlet as string. But I want to send java objects from the servlet in App2 and receive them in servlet of App1. How to achieve this?

  • MS Access Query Criteria Issue

    Currently I have a MS Access database query that has a field named FedEXDetTotal that totals 9 FedEX charge fields. I have another field that is from our inhouse system called "Total Charge". This is just a normal number field. I have created another Field in this query Diff: [FedEXDetTotal]-[Total Charge] This tells me the difference between the Fedex charge and what we actually charged. Everything works OK with this, but when I try to put the criteria 5 for the Diff field, when I run the query, I get a prompt saying "Enter Parameter Value FedEXDetTotal". Why is Access doing this? How do I get around this? I'm trying to start out with something simple(5), but what I really want is [Forms]![Dis].[txtbox_Diff].

This is my code to call the procedure.     What is the elegant way to convert JSONObject to URL parameters. For example, JSONObject: {stat: {123456: {x: 1, y: 2}, 123457: {z: 5, y: 2}}}} this should be like: stat[123456][x]=1&stat[123456][y]=2&stat[123457][z]=5&stat[123457][y]=2 of course with escaped symbols, and of course JSON object could be more complicated..     I'm sick of writing basic UIAlertView's, ie: UIAlertView *alert = [[UIAlertView alloc] initWith...]] //etc Instead of doing this, is it possible to put all this in a "helper" function, where I can return the buttonIndex, or whatever an alert usually returns? For a simple helper function I guess you could feed parameters for the title, message, I'm not sure whether you can pass delegates in a parameter though, or bundle info. In pseudo-code, it could be like this: someValueOrObject = Print_Alert(Title="", Message="", Delegate="", Bundle="") // etc Any help on this would be great. Thanks

So Is the issue because Integer and char[] methods or Integer and Object methods?

    In the start menu the link to my user directory is displayed with a wrong name e.g. foo When I click on the link in the start menu the explorer opens my correct user directory but the addressbar still names it foo. However, when I open a cmd from that directory the location is correctly shown as C:\Users\myUserName. Furthermore there is no C:\Users\foo directory. How can I fix this (i.e. ths link in the startmenu should be named myUserName)?

  • Visual Studio Generating Code in Release mode

    I am using Visual Studio to compile some C++ Code. When I compile my program in Debug mode it works perfectly, but when I try compiling it in Release mode, VS halts when Generating Code (ie: took 20 mins and still didn't finish). After I forced VS to stop the build process, the executable generated was huge 2MB while it should be about 304KB. Please can you help figure this out.   • Java - is this an idiom or pattern, behavior classes with no state

    I am trying to incorporate more functional programming idioms into my java development. One pattern that I like the most and avoids side effects is building classes that have behavior but they don't necessarily have any state. The behavior is locked into the methods but they only act on the parameters passed in. The code below is code I am trying to avoid: public class BadObject { private Map<String, String> data = new HashMap<String, String>(); public BadObject() { data.put("data", "data"); } /** * Act on the data class. But this is bad because we can't * rely on the integrity of the object's state. */ public void execute() { data.get("data").toString(); } } The code below is nothing special but I am acting on the parameters and state is contained within that class. We still may run into issues with this class but that is an issue with the method and the state of the data, we can address issues in the routine as opposed to not trusting the entire object. Is this some form of idiom?
