• UI form component for ASP NET MVC

  Hi I'd like to find a component that help me to build input forms in asp MVC. I find that ther are many components (grid, tree, tab...) but not a "Form component". I know that i can use the HTML HELPER (.labelfor(.. .inputTextFor(... ) ..but i don't like to write the html tags around the fields and labels ( ... ) I want that all the form in my application look similar and, if a change is needed i want to make it in one place ( ex in the "FormComponentFactory()" for example ) I created my own FormComponent but i find myself reinvent the wheel..

  I've got an AJAX transmission of a variable string in my primary coding language (Visual FoxPro 9) that looks like this: AjaxResponse = CREATEOBJECT("Custom") lcMessage = "<li class='hello'>Hello</li>" AjaxResponse.AddProperty("Reply", lcMessage) Response.ContentType = "text/html" Response.Write(AjaxResponse.Reply) While using the jQuery function .ajax() I've created a success: function that looks like this: $.ajax({ url: 'index?Proc=GetUuserHistory', dataType: "html", success: function(data){ $("div#history-text").text(data); }; }); My problem is that the text inserting into 'div#history-text' is unformatted and contains the li tags still. I've tried substituting the .text for .prepend, .append, and .html with no luck...is there a way to convert this string back to html format after its been received using Ajax?

  Hi, I'm currently developing a website and the main navigation is made up of image links because the font used for them isn't standard. My client's only worry is will this mess up search engine optimization? Can I just add alt text to the images like "link 1" or use the name attribute of the anchor tag? Or would it be better to just have the navigation as anchor tags with the names of the links in them like: <a href="...">link 1</a>?   I've got the following problem: I have rhtml (html minced together with ruby inside <% % and <%= % tags) stored in a database which I want to render. The information is acquired through a query. I need to be able to evaluate the information I get from the database as though as it was normal content inside the .erb-file. What I currently have: <% @mymods.each do |mod| %> <%= render_text(mod["html"])%> <% end %> Where mod["html"] is the variable containing the rhtml-code and @mymods an array of objects from the query. • Excel 2003 VSTO convert to PDF

  I have an excel workbook vsto solution that needs to generate a pdf copy of one of its sheets as output. I have a license for abcdpdf .net and tried outputting to html, then using abcpdf to convert the html to pdf, but the excel html markup tries to emulate excel with all 4 worksheets with horrible markup. It also messes up the colors (silver background across entire workbook). Any suggestions? Here is the code I'm currently using to generate the html file: FileInfo excelDoc = new FileInfo(Globals.ThisWorkbook.Path + @"\Document.html"); Globals.Sheet2.SaveAs(excelDoc.FullName, Excel.XlFileFormat.xlHtml, missing, missing, false, false, Excel.XlSaveAsAccessMode.xlNoChange, missing, missing, missing); If I hack away some of the html header tags manually, I can get abcdpf to accept it, but the formatting is a bit off and this solution seems sub optimal.   Does anyone have an XML style sheet that'll convert wiki-like markup to HTML? Or is that a bad idea? I only found one style sheet that'll convert HTML to wiki-like markup, view-source:http://mozile.mozdev.org/0.8/demos/html2wiki.xsl . Or is this a bad idea? Basically, instead of following strict rules with my XML tags to format my content, I thought it'd be best to have something like this: <content> \## This is my heading </content> That way I'm free to display my content however I feel without having to modify my style sheet.   I have a read a number of excellent questions and answers today about dealing with user input. I am now using htmlspecialchars() to display user data in the create/edit forms (but accepting the raw input via prepared PDO statements into my database). The main question I know have is, what do you do when you are allowing the user to submit HTML which will then be displayed to the public. Obviously htmlspecialchars() is no longer suitable as it just encodes the tags and renders the content useless for purpose. My application is currently accepting HTML from an admin for product descriptions. This would allow a malicious admin to inject potentially unsafe data into public facing pages. How do people cope with this?

  Hi I have seen this often in code, but when I speak of it i don't know the name of such 'pattern' I have a method with 2 arguments that calls an overloaded method that has 3 arguments and intentionality sets the 3rd one to empty string. public DoWork(string name, string phoneNumber) { CreateContact(name, phoneNumber, string.Empty) } public DoWork(string name, string phoneNumber, string emailAddress) { //do the work } The reason I'm doing this is I to not duplicate code, and allow the existing callers to still call the method that has only 2 parameters. I have associate a few tags to this question, but it probably fit in more categories of questions. Is this a pattern, and does it have a name?

  Hello, I am after a very lightweight template engine that supports / can be embedded inside Android programs. I've looked at the MiniTemplator (I think that is how you spell it) and that looks great but it loads in only from file and I need to load templates from string and I am not fully confident in changing that code lol. Can anyone recommend a very lightweight (preferably no jars, single source files etc) that I can use ? I do not need it to parse XML or anything like, just normal HTML files with keywords embedded into them betwee %% tags etc. Regards Anthoni

  Is there a way to find custom tags in regexp I.e. match {a}sometext{/a} As well as {c=#fff}sometext{/c} So that it finds the entire block of inner content? The problem is the sometext could have another tag as in: {a=http://www.google.com}{b}Hello, world{/b}{/a} The only solutions I can come up with would match from {a... to .../b} when I want {a... to .../a} is there a single regexp solution, or would it be best to match the start, and then use another method to find the end from the back up, and grab it out that way? I'm using PHP 5.2 so I have all the options that entails.

  In Emacs, I'm working with a file that is a hybrid of two languages. Question 1: Is there a simple way to write a major mode file that combines two major modes? Details: The language is called "brew" (not the "BREW" of "Binary Runtime Environment for Wireless"). brew is made up of the languages R and Latex, whose modes are R-mode and latex-mode. The R code appears between the tags <% and %. Everything else is Latex. How can I write a brew-mode.el file? (Or is one already available?) One idea, which I got from this posting, is to use Latex mode, and treat the code of the form <% ... % as a comment. Question 2: How do you change the .emacs file or the latex.el file to have Latex mode treat code of the form <% ... % as a comment?

• Strange padding in Safari when using SVG images

  I thought I was having issues with margins but then on a closer look I found that SVGs are acting funky in Safari 6. I am building a simple Hexagon based website. Of course I used negative vertical margins to for a little overlap to 'inter-lock' the hexagons. And to save space I was using SVG images for the hexagons. It works great in chrome and firefox, but in Safari, there is a strange padding in the SVG images. I'm using simple img tags for the svg images. Everything works when I switch to PNG, but I'd prefer to stick to SVGs. Any insight? Can I perhaps delve into the SVG code and somehow fix the SVG problem in Safari? or is it some sort of bug, that I can do nothing about without browser sniffing?

  I created a custom taxonomy named 'technologies' but cannot query multiple terms like I can with categories or tags. These querys DO work: query_posts('tag=goldfish,airplanes'); query_posts('technologies=php'); However, neither of the following work correctly: query_posts('technologies=php,sql'); query_posts('technologies=php&technologies=sql'); My objective: Show all posts with a technology of 'php' and all posts with a technology of 'sql' Any ideas? Not sure of the best way to do this. I'm thinking some sort of reverse reg ex, but haven't found a way to do that. • Forumotion profile customization using jQuery based on URL

  The idea is have a jQuery snippet (I like Jquery...I can understand it better then regular javascript) that will detect that when it has been run on a profile with a url such as "http://customize.forum-motion.com/profile.forum?mode=viewprofile&u=1" (just as an example)...then upon detecting that it is a url of a profile...fetch data from a specific (and most likely hidden) element before wrapping that data in css tags and appending it to the heady of the current document. In short I'm trying to figure out how to make a sort of profile customization system where users can create their own css. The biggest problem I am having so far is figuring out how to make it so that the snippet can figure out what URL its being run on. Is there a function that can do this in jQuery at all?

  Hello everyone. I'll cut right to the chase. Right now I am developing a web based application. It has a PHP REST based architecture that serves up XML documents. On many of these documents attributes are hex encoded picture strings. On the client side jQuery AJAX fetches an XML document with a picture in it. I need to display said picture in some <img> tags. However my knowledge on such methods is lacking so here I am asking for help. Goal: JavaScript String variable in hex or base64 HTML displayed image. Ex: villan hero spiderman superman superman I wanted to obtain a sorted list of the tag names in ascending order and the number of times the unique tag appeared in the database. I wrote this code: Ex: SELECT hashtag.tag_name, COUNT( * ) AS number FROM hashtag GROUP BY hashtag.tag_name ORDER BY hashtag.tag_name ASC This yields the correct result: hero - 1 spiderman - 1 superman - 2 villan - 1 How can I obtain the full COUNT of this entire list. The answer should be 4 in this case because there are naturally 4 rows. I can't seem to get a correct COUNT() without the statement failing. Thanks so much for the help! :)

  So I have two tables students (PK sID) and mentors (PK pID). This query SELECT s.pID FROM students s JOIN mentors m ON s.pID = m.pID WHERE m.tags LIKE '%a%' ORDER BY s.sID DESC; delivers this result pID ------------- 9 9 3 9 3 9 9 9 10 9 3 10 etc... I am trying to get a list of distinct mentor ID's with this ordering so I am looking for the SQL to produce pID ------------- 9 3 10 If I simply insert a DISTINCT in the SELECT clause I get an unexpected result of 10, 9, 3 (wrong order). Any help much appreciated.
