• Using jQuery and AJAX works for all functions except one, really bizarre issue (from my perspective)

  I am working on a classic asp form that has a number of dropdowns. Three of these are cascading, i.e. they rely in the previous dropdown. For almost everything this code works fine, one of them however is not playing nice. To start off I have a script tag with the following in it: $(document).ready(function () { $("#AcademicLevel").change(getList); $("#CourseDeliveryTime").change(updateLocation); $("#ProgramType").change(updateEntryTerm); }); This works just fine for the first two elements of the form, AcademicLevel and CourseDeliveryTime, the third however does not take effect however. If I use Firebug's Console and run that same line of code, $("#ProgramType").change(updateEntryTerm);, it starts to work, sort of. What happens is what confuses me. If the function it is pointing to, updateEntryTerm, has an alert() call in it, it works. If the alert is commented out, it does not work. When reselecting, Visual Studio will automatically add references to System.Deployment, System.Drawing and System.Windows.Forms C# Create a new project with the Empty Project template (Visual C# - Windows) Go to the project properties, and change the Application type to any of the choices. Visual studio will not add references. Question Is there a way to change this behaviour for Visual Basic?

• What is the release date for Rakudo Star (perl6)?

  If a specific release date is not available (as I suspect it is not), can you provide resources for tracking how close it is to the desired feature set that allows release. I'm not necessarily asking for a percentage gauge, or X of Y features completed list. A list of bugs marked in whichever section of the perl RT instance that's tracking Rakudo bugs would meet my criteria, even more so if the list is dynamic (I.e. it's a list of bugs tagged in some manner, not a static list of ticket numbers). If there are only a few planned features left to be finished/tested before it's considered ready for final testing, listing those would also be sufficient.

• MPMusicPlayerController stops sending notifications

  I have a MPMusicPlayerController playing the entire iPod library and I'm subscribed to the notifications when tracks change etc. This is all working correctly When the end of the playlist is reached, MPMusicPlayerController sends a change of state notification and stops. When I re-start the player, music begins to play again but MPMusicPlayerController no longer sends notifications when tracks change, etc. Thoughts?

  I am not even sure how to ask this question. I want something that is like the wxPython event system, but a bit different. I'll try to explain. When there is a certain change in my program (a "tree change", never mind what that is,) I want to send a signal to all the widgets in my program, notifying them that a "tree change" has occurred, and they should change their display in response. How do I do this? It sounds a little bit like wxPython events, but not really, since events don't spread to all widgets, as far as I know. What would be a good way to do this?

I used acts_as_authentic do |c| c.transition_from_restful_authentication = true end and changed the password and salt field to 128 characters.But, if I create a new user crypted password length is 40 characters length(Its not changing to 128 as in authlogic).   I'm writing an app that offloads some heavy drawing into an EAGLView, and it does some lightweight stuff in UIKit on top. It seems that the GL render during an orientation change is cached somewhere, and I can't figure out how to get access to it. Specifically: After an orientation change, calling glClear(GL_COLOR_BUFFER_BIT) isn't enough to clear the GL display (drawing is cached somewhere?) How can I clear this cache? After an orientation change, glReadPixel() can no longer access pixels drawn before the orientation change. How can I get access to where this is stored?

  Ok, the title is a bit confusing, but here's my predicament. I've made a web app to track UPS packages internally at work. Currently, you input the tracking number and then select the city it was shipped from. All tracking numbers from an account start with the same X amount of numbers. So if someone entered "1Z8473..." into one input, "Houston, TX" would automatically be entered into the next input. Is this a difficult thing to pull off? Where would I begin?

• JSON to Persistent Data Store (CoreData, etc.)

  All of the data on my application is pulled through an API via JSON. The nature of a good percentage of this data is that it doesn't change very often. So to go and make JSON requests to get a list of data that doesn't change much didn't seem all that appealing. I'm looking for the most sensible option to have this JSON saved onto the iPhone in some sort of persistent data store. Obviously one plus of persisting the data would be to provide it when the phone can't access the API. I've looked at a few examples of having JSON and CoreData interact, for example, but it seems that they only describe transforming NSManagedObjects into JSON. If I can transform JSON into CoreData, my only problem would be being able to change that data when the data from the API does change. (Or, maybe this is all just silly.)

• How to edit localized forms all at one time in Visual Studio

  Hello, I have several forms that are localized to multiple languages. If I do a change on one form (for example, changing the size of a textbox) the change is done only on the localized version of the Form that I have currently selected. Is there a way of extending the change I've done the different localized versions of the same Form to avoid having to go one by one doing the same change by hand? Thanks in advance for your help. EDIT: I'm talking about different forms when the real thign is that you have one form and several resources. The point is that at the end is just like if you have different forms for each locale because the form is built with the data from the resource. The problem is still the same because the edits done on the form are stored at one resource file and I have to put by hand those edits in all the resources.

  Hi. I'm trying to use a script to control my power options since XP doesn't give you an intuitive way to change CPU Frequency options. If I run the same commands directly into a cmd.exe prompt, they work. It's very strange, but nothing works after the initial powercfg query. I feel like I'm missing something incredibly obvious. How can I get the above script to run correctly?

  Hi all, I have a fulltext index which doesn't need to be immediately up-to-date, I'd like to spare myself the I/O (when I do bulk updates, I see a ton of I/O related to the index) and do the index updates during low usage times (nightly, perhaps even weekly). It seems there are two ways to go about this: Turn off change tracking (SET CHANGE_TRACKING OFF) and add a timestamp field to the indexed table, so that you can run alter fulltext index on <table> start INCREMENTAL population, or Enable change tracking, but set it to MANUAL, so that you can run alter fulltext index on <table> start UPDATE population when you need it updated. Is there a preferred method? I couldn't tell from this overview if there was a performance benefit one way or the other. Tom

The thing I would like to do is: I want to have a version number of the application ex. 0.0.120 I want to see this version number only in the About box or similar This version number should change everityme I hit debug or release. ex. my version was 0.0.120, after I hit debug in the FlexBuilder, the versionNumber should change to 0.0.121, but If I press Release Build, then the version should change to 0.1.0 The first number changes only when I manually change it Don't know how is this possible but if you have a tip, let me know.   We are building an ajax application in which a users input is submitted for processing to a php script. We are currently writing every request to a log file for tracking. I would like to move this tracking into a database table but I do not want to run a insert statement after request. What I would like to do is set up a 'queue' of transactions (inserts and updates) that need to be processed on the MySQL database. I would then set up a cron job or process to check and process the transactions in the queue. Is there something out there that we could build upon or do we have to just write to plain ol' text log files and process them?

I want to display information about What ( with before and after values), When, Where and Who of any change in AD. I am going to implement this by one of the following way 1. Change Notification Control 2. DirSync Control Both of these method give us the attribute that are changed and we can compare new values with some dump in SQL Server to get old values. My problem is how can I find “Who” has made this change. I have tried but there is no attribute “LastModifiedBy” in active directory.   There are a number of free finance tracking sites out there like mint.com, wesabe.com etc.. . I've tried all of them and all seem to miss the mark in one way or another. I'm interested in creating my own website, or possibly just a stand alone windows program for tracking my finances in ASP.NET or C#.NET. I'm assuming the answer is no, but is there any way that a personal developer can download transactions from financial websites like these? I know once you login to most financial sites you can download a CSV or Quicken file. Yet I really like how I can log-in to my Mint.com account and update all my accounts with one click.
