Instantiating a python class in C#

I've written a class in python that I want to wrap into a .net assembly via IronPython and instantiate in a C# application. I've migrated the class to IronPython, created a library assembly and referenced it. Now, how do I actually get an instance of that class? The class looks (partially) like this: class PokerCard: "A card for playing poker, immutable and unique." def __init__(self, cardName): The test stub I wrote in C# is: using System; namespace pokerapp { class Program { static void Main(string[] args) { var card = new PokerCard(); // I also tried new PokerCard("Ah") Console.WriteLine(card.ToString()); Console.ReadLine(); } } } What do I have to do in order to instantiate this class in C#?

Can an app delete its own internal resources?

I am trying to find a way to delete an internal resource after an app installs. More specifically, I have a zip file included in the apk, that I unzip to the SD Card when the app is first run. But then want to delete the now unneeded zip file (the purpose being to save the user internal phone memory). I access the zip file with, Resources resources = this.getResources(); InputStream is = resources.openRawResource(R.raw.assets); But am uncertain how to then delete the resource (if even possible). I know one may ask why not simply install the app to SD Card at download. But the app includes a screen widget, and installing apps to the SD Card and using a screen widget is problematic. What happens to a class in PHP once its been instantiated?

Hi I'm just playing around with some PHP and was wondering what happens when an object from a class is created within another PHP script? I assume once its created and been processed their is no way of then going back and 'playing' around with it from another script? The idea is i'm trying to create a kind of deck of cards using a card class, each card has specific data that is added to each individual object to make it unique, suit, value etc. Once its created i need to be able to go back to specific cards to use them. In java i'd have an arraylist of card objects, i'm not sure how to approach the same area in PHP. Thanks.

C# Hook Forms / Windows / Dialogs etc. (via HWND?) to Capture Video Buffer (D3D Device?)

I am looking to create a very simple C# application which runs Full-Screen in Direct3D, and is able to grab the Desktop 'scene', mapping each Window from the Desktop to a Textured Polygon in my D3D Scene... I'm hoping to create a simplistic "3D Desktop" type of application as an experiment, and I'm wondering if there is a specific method for doing something like the following: 1)Get a list of all the Windows open on the Desktop (List of HWNDs?). 2)Grab the X,Y position of each Window, as well as the Width and Height. 3)Grab the Rendered image of each Window (magic happens here). 4)Create a new Texture/Surface in D3D using the Width and Height of the Window(s), and apply the Image we grabbed as a Texture. Is there an efficient 'best practice' for acquiring the actual image(s) being rendered to the Desktop? Is there also a 'best practice' for "extending the desktop" to a virtual second, third, etc. "desktop" and being able to swap between them, including creating a unique instance of the task-bar for each virtual desktop. HTML, CSS: how can I merge these divs in order to use float:left property on their children ?

hi, I've 2 sets of thumbnails and in each set I'm displaying them one nearby each other in 4 columns using float:left. I would like to "merge" the 2 sets (but I cannot change the html code) because I want the thumbnails of the second set floating right after the last thumbnail of the first set. In other terms, if in the last row there are only 2 thumbnails and the last 2 columns are empty, the thumbnails of the second set should fill the empty columns of the last row of the first set. Image not getting displayed on a JPanel.

The method pl.showHand() returns a ArrayList of a user defined class 'Card'. Inserting a println() inside the loop shows the print, so the code is being executed but the Panel panelplay isnt showing card Images.

They all point at the if's. i also get a ; expected error at the end of Card c2). whats going wrong here?

Duel Masters game in Java

I was trying to make a Duel Masters card game in Java using BlueJ, and came up with a lot of ideas. However, I could not exactly figure out how to sort a deck on basis of the card names in the game. I have an array of Card objects(each has, as its instance variables: String name, int cost, int civ), and I want to sort them based on name. ie: if I have the cards "Pyrofighter Magnus", "Bazagazeal Dragon" and another "Pyrofighter Magnus" in the array, the cards should be sorted on basis of their names. I know that I could use compareTo(), but is there an easier method? Anyone? Remember, the method that sorts the cards should be a modifier.

Black Screen when Computer Boots

I'm having a serious problem with my computer; I think I've narrowed it down to the motherboard, but I'd like a second opinion before I spend the money. Before I moved into my new apartment, my desktop was working fine; now, it just won't work. It will turn on, the fans will spin up, lights come on... but nothing appears on the screen. No POST, nothing. I've tried: A different monitor (both are VGA) A different video-card (both are DVI, PCIe) Three different, known-good VGA-DVI adapters The onboard video port (VGA) Reseating the memory, and trying only one stick Different, known-good wall-outlets Unplugging the HDD and CD-drive from both the motherboard and PSU Replacing the PSU Has anyone had this happen before? How do I use an internal SSD as a scratch disk for FCP X?

I'm contemplating setting up my MacBook Air as a video editing machine. If I do this, I'll upgrade to a 256 GB SSD, and I should be able to keep around 100 GB or more free for video editing. The video files would of course be stored externally, but save purchasing some expensive Thunderbolt RAID device (which I suppose is gradually becoming more of an option), it will be slow for read/writes. How can I have a set up where I take advantage of my SSD's speed for a scratch disk/cache for FCP X, but still have the TB(s) of storage of externals? I don't want to have to be moving files constantly back and forth, this is about saving time not wasting it.

I was watching this Video which talked about using port-forwarding to optimize your LAN for skype calls. According to the video, as explained in the first couple of minutes in the video, the reason you would need optimization is because if the person your call has a firewall setup, your connection has to go-through a third-party computer to connect to them. I believe I stated this correct (maybe not). None the less, my question is this: do both parties on the call need to enable port forwarding to optimize skype, or just one party (person)?

Convert png sequence to x264 with ffmpeg

I am trying to convert a series of pngs into an mp4 video. I am using ffmpeg, and want to encode the video with the x264 codec. Using the command ffmpeg -y -r 30 -b 1800k -i _tmp%04d.png -vcodec libx264 out.mp4 I get the following warning message Incompatible pixel format 'bgra' for codec 'libx264', auto-selecting format 'yuv420p' My understanding is that there is an alpha channel in the pngs, which the x264 encoder cannot handle. Is there a way to get around this problem? Is there, for example, a way to get the encoder to ignore the alpha channel (my pngs don't actually have any transparent elements)? I'm aware that I could batch convert the pngs beforehand to strip the alpha channel, but the sequence of images is produced by another program, and having to preprocess the images each time I make a video would be less than optimal. Edit: After stripping the alpha channel from each frame using the command convert in.png -background white -flatten +matte out.png ffmpeg gives the warning message Incompatible pixel format 'pal8' for codec 'libx264', auto-selecting format 'yuv420p' so still no dice.

Windows 7 - Non Admin run as Admin for Explorer - still can't see all tmp internet files

I'm trying to retrieve video files from the IE 8 cache for a user that's not an admin in Win 7. As a non admin user, I run Explorer as admin and still can't see the temp internet files for the non admin user. Only if I login as a user that is admin can I see the files. Is there any way I can see the files w/o having to go through the login process? Essentially, I want the video file from this page and others like it: http://video.yahoo.com/watch/111585/1027823

I am using Apache as web server and the return code is always HTTP/1.1 200. I want to set some kind of handler or use a mod to return HTTP/1.1 206 when the extension of the file requested is .mp4 so it can do video seeking, my web server is already returning some headers to do seeking, but it doesn't work. Inconsistent black levels in windows 7 media center

I've got a HTPC running windows 7 64bit, hooked up to a Samsung LCD TV. My problem is different types of video are displaying different black levels on the TV. When I play a bluray through Arcsoft Total Media Theater I have to set the "HDMI Black Level" to "normal" in the TV picture options menu. When I play recorded TV through WMC I have to set it to "low" otherwise the black colors on the video are washed out and grey. Is there any way to configure the system so all videos are displayed with the same black level? The hdmi black level setting is deep in Samsung's menus so it's becoming a chore to keep switching it everytime I watch a different type of video. I'm using an ATI 4670 graphics card with HDMI output going straight to the TV. In the ATI catalyst control center I've got pixel format set to RGB 4:4:4 (Full RGB) since the TV wont allow me to change the HDMI black level if I choose one of the other settings.

How to make use of movie events imported by imovie 09 from a DVR

I have imported about 100 clips of video from my DVR using imovie 09 and they are all saved under movie events folder, this is ok. The problem is all the movie events files are not in standard formats, they are in some 'Apple Intermediate Format' only Quicktime and iMovie recoginize and play. My problem is I simply want to give my 100 clips of video to someone using PC and this intermediate format produced by imovie is not playable or convertable by anything I have found. Now the only option for me seems to be creating a project in iMovie and drag all the clips into the project and then export these 100 clips into a single standard file, but iMovie doesn't even let me conveninent do that, I can only click at some clip, select all, drag into the project, and repeat for 100 more times, Is there a alternative way I can do so? (or use Quicktime player to convert video formats one by one). Thanks

Can I plug in 2x DVI + 1x HDMI and get a third display? Or am I going to have to buy a slew of Display Port Adapters? I know older video cards you could only have 2 active displays, but I heard that barrier was defeated with the Display-Port series video cards.

I have a 2GB RAR file that contains a 9GB video file. I'm using a FAT32 file system. Now I want to unzip that file but after 4GB I get an error due to the FAT32 file size limit. Now I want to know that how I can extract that video? I know that one way is to convert my partition to NTFS but I don't want to follow that way. I've also tried 7-zip but that again gives error after 4GB. One other way is to split that file but I don't know how I can split a video file that is zipped. So any idea please? Intel motherboard drops HDMI output after Windows boots

I have an Intel motherboard (DH67CL) that uses Intel HD 3000 video. It has two video output ports: HDMI and DVI. Both my monitors are DVI, so I have two cables: a DVI-DVI and an HDMI-DVI. If I plug a monitor into just one of these ports, things work fine. But if I plug monitors into each of the ports, the system startup screens show on both monitors, along with the "Starting Windows..." screen, but as soon as the system boots into Windows, the HDMI-connected monitor goes to sleep. When I use the Intel video control panel, the HDMI-connected monitor is not detected. How do I get a dual-monitor setup to work?

Downloading videos from a flash website

There are those plugins that can capture flash videos from websites like Youtube and others. There's also the browsing cache which keeps the videos and I can copy them somewhere else and have them stored on my computer. I know of these, but how can I download a video from a website that (I think) is all flash because the address doesn't change wherever you navigate to and so it stays the same when you play a video that's on the website? No plugin I've tried (realplayer, ant video downloadr, IDM) have worked with it and nothing gets cached from that website.

Is Sony Vegas Pro 8 uable to import AC3? How to enable?!

I am using Sony Vegas Pro 8.0b. I want to import an AVI (DivX), where the audio codec used is "0x2000 (Dolby AC3) AC3 ", according to GSpot. I later want to render this video again in another codec etc. I have done videoconversion with Vegas 8 many times and ususally do not run into any problems. However with this particular video, the audio stream simply does not show up in the track list or anywhere! There is simply no audio (the video is fine). Questions: is Sony Vegas Pro 8.0 unable to import AC3? If yes, can I make it so that it becomes able to do so and how?

File corruption when copying different file on raid 1

I have a RAID 1 configuration of 2 1TB drives on a Fedora 12 box. Most of what is stored there are video files that are numerical labeled. The problem I'm having is that I had one of the video files get corrupted. I copied a replacement from a backup and replaced the bad file and now it works fine. However, after doing this the next numbered file goes from 350MB to 200KB and all but about .5 second of video disappears. If I then replace that file it happens to the next one down the line. Ex: Replace corrupt file 1.avi and file 2.avi shrinks to 200KB. Replace now corrupted 2.avi and it works but 3.avi gets screwed up. I have run SMART tests on the drives and they report fine. Does anyone have any tests I can run to try to figure out what is going on? EDIT: It is a two disk software RAID 1 with an ext4 filesystem

Moving LiveMeeting admin functions to a different window

I run a user group, and often host LiveMeeting sessions. I use a projector, with a crowd watching. How do I do the admin stuff (respond to Q&A, etc) on one window, and just have the video on the 'extended monitor'? I dont' want the people in the audience to see anything except the video feed, but I want to be able to watch questions come in, etc... Note: I don't have a problem extending the screen across the two monitors - I already have different stuff showing on my screen compared to the projector. I just want a way to put the LM video on Monitor 2 (projector), and the LM controls on Monitor 1.
