  • Changing size of a dynamically allocated matrix

    - by user1309174
    Trying to re-size the shape matrix dynamically. This is part of a drawing program where _capacity is the number of shapes drawn on a frame. Get the error in new Shape about _capacity saying expression needs to have a constant value. void ShapeStore::Grow(int minimumCapacity) { _capacity = max (minimumCapacity, 2 * _capacity); if (_capacity) { Shape ***newData = new Shape[_frames][_capacity]; //figure out this int i; for (int k = 0; k < _frames; k++) for (i=0;i<_count;i++) newData[k][i] = _data[k][i]; delete [] _data; _data = newData; } //*/ }

  • Display streaming video in desktop app.

    - by Roddy
    I have a Windows native desktop app (C++/Delphi), and I'm successfully using Directshow to display live video in it from a 'local' video capture device. The next thing I want to do is display video from a 'remote' capture device, streamed over the LAN. To stream the video, I guess I can use something like Expression Encoder or VLC, but I'm not sure what's the easiest way to receive/decode the streamed video. Inserting an ActiveX VLC or Flash player might be one option (although the licensing may be an issue then), but I was wondering if there's any way to achieve this with Directshow... Application needs to run on XP, and the video decoding should ideally be royalty free. Suggestions, please!

  • Fastest PHP Routine To Match Words

    - by Volomike
    What is the fastest way in PHP to take a keyword list and match it to a search result (like an array of titles) for all words? For instance, if my keyword phrase is "great leather shoes", then the following titles would be a match... Get Some Really Great Leather Shoes Leather Shoes Are Great Great Day! Those Are Some Cool Leather Shoes! Shoes, Made of Leather, Can Be Great ...while these would not be a match: Leather Shoes on Sale Today! You'll Love These Leather Shoes Greatly Great Shoes Don't Come Cheap I imagine there's some trick with array functions or a RegEx (Regular Expression) to achieve this rapidly.

  • Double Inner Join generates unexpected error

    - by Itamar Marom
    In my database I have three tables: Users: UserID (Auto Numbering), UserName, UserPassword and a few other unimportant fields. PrivateMessages: MessageID (Auto Numbering), SenderID and a few other fields defining the message content. MessageStatus: MessageID, ReceiverID, MessageWasRead (Boolean) What I need is a query to which I input a user's id and I get all the private messages he has received. In addition, I also need to receive each message's sender UserName. For this I wrote the following query: SELECT Users.*, PrivateMessages.*, MessageStatus.* FROM PrivateMessages INNER JOIN Users ON PrivateMessages.SenderID = Users.UserID INNER JOIN MessageStatus ON PrivateMessages.MessageID = MessageStatus.MessageID WHERE MessageStatus.ReceiverID=[@userid]; But for some reason when I try saving it in my Access database, I get the following error (translated to English by me, since my office is in a different language): Syntax error (missing operator) at expression: "PrivateMessages.SenderID = Users.UserID INNER JOIN MessageStatus ON PrivateMessages.MessageID = MessageStatus.MessageI". Any ideas what could cause this? Thanks.

  • How to Detect Trusted Connection in Crystal Reports using VB.NET?

    - by Michael
    I have some Crystal Reports connecting to a Sql Server db that I would like to detect whether the connection is trusted or whether I need to supply the log on info (reports are not supplied by me so I can't control the connect method). If I just blindly supply login credentials, it won't connect if it is a trusted connection. The following does not work: oRpt = oCR.OpenReport("C:\MyReport.rpt") if oRpt.Database.Tables(1).ConnectionProperties.Item("Integrated Security") = True then 'trusted connection else 'supply login credentials end if It gives the following error: Operator '=' is not defined for type 'IConnectionProperty' and type 'Boolean'. I cannot find how create a construct in vb.net for IConnectionProperty. I can't find any documents from Crystal that explain it. I am using Crystal Reports XI - Developer

  • Purpose of boost::checked_delete

    - by Channel72
    I don't understand the purpose of boost::checked_delete. The documentation says: The C++ Standard allows, in 5.3.5/5, pointers to incomplete class types to be deleted with a delete-expression. When the class has a non-trivial destructor, or a class-specific operator delete, the behavior is undefined. Some compilers issue a warning when an incomplete type is deleted, but unfortunately, not all do, and programmers sometimes ignore or disable warnings. The supplied function and class templates can be used to prevent these problems, as they require a complete type, and cause a compilation error otherwise. So the C++ standard allows you to delete incomplete types, which causes undefined behavior if the type has a non-trivial destructor. What? How can an incomplete type have any destructor at all? Isn't an incomplete type just a prototype?

  • ColdFusion - pass regex backreference to function call

    - by stubotnik
    Hi, I'm using ColdFusion's reReplace() function for regular expression pattern replacement. I'd like to use a function call for the replacement string, and pass a matched backreference to it. Something like this: <cfset s = "STARTDATE_2010-05-07 00:05:00.0_ENDDATE" /> <cfset s = reReplace(s, "STARTDATE_([\s-.:0-9]*)_ENDDATE", dateAdd("h", 1, "\1")) /> But that fails because "The value of parameter 3, which is currently \1, must be a class java.util.Date value." Is there any other way to achieve this? Thanks, Stu

  • Spring MVC 3.1 How to access HttpSession in Custom Authentication Provider (which implements AuthenticationProvider)

    - by user1506231
    My application calls a web service during the Authentication process (as shown in code below). How can I save some information in HttpSession during this process? This information like customer-account-number will be used in various other places in the application after the user is logged in. Is it possible to pass HttpSession parameter to the MyServiceManager's static login method? public class MyAuthenticationManager implements AuthenticationProvider { @Override public boolean supports(Class<? extends Object> authentication) { return authentication.equals(UsernamePasswordAuthenticationToken.class); } @Override public Authentication authenticate(Authentication authentication) { //MyServiceManager.login - makes a call to web service if(MyServiceManager.login(authentication.getName(), authentication.getCredentials().toString(), XXX_HTTP_SESSION_XXX)) { List<GrantedAuthority> authorities = new ArrayList<GrantedAuthority> (); authorities.add(new GrantedAuthorityImpl("ROLE_USER")); authorities.add(new GrantedAuthorityImpl("ROLE_SUPERVISOR")); return new UsernamePasswordAuthenticationToken(authentication.getName(), authentication.getCredentials(),authorities); } else { return null; } } }

  • trying to prune down a list of files

    - by romunov
    I have a list of files and I'm trying to extract all layer1_*.grd files. Is there a way of doing this in one grep expression? lof <- c("layer1_1.grd", "layer1_1.gri", "layer1_2.grd", "layer1_2.gri", "layer1_3.grd", "layer1_3.gri", "layer1_4.grd", "layer1_4.gri", "layer1_5.grd", "layer1_5.gri", "layer2_1.grd", "layer2_1.gri", "layer2_2.grd", "layer2_2.gri", "layer2_3.grd", "layer2_3.gri", "layer2_4.grd", "layer2_4.gri", "layer2_5.grd", "layer2_5.gri", "layer3_1.grd", "layer3_1.gri", "layer3_2.grd", "layer3_2.gri", "layer3_3.grd", "layer3_3.gri", "layer3_4.grd", "layer3_4.gri", "layer3_5.grd", "layer3_5.gri", "layer4_1.grd", "layer4_1.gri", "layer4_2.grd", "layer4_2.gri", "layer4_3.grd", "layer4_3.gri", "layer4_4.grd", "layer4_4.gri", "layer4_5.grd", "layer4_5.gri" I tried doing this in two steps: list.of.files <- list.files(pattern = c("1_")) list.of.files <- list.of.files[grep(".grd", list.of.files)] Can someone enlighten me how to do this with grep in one step? I naively tried passing list() and c() to the grep but, as you can imagine, it doesn't work. list.of.files <- list.files() list.of.files <- list.of.files[grep(list("1_", ".grd"), list.of.files)]

  • How can I use spinner setOnItemLongClickListener

    - by elCarda
    Hi, I am trying to make the Spinner behave different way when the user clicked on an item for a long time. I have spinner with some project and I want two things. When the user simple click on an item I want to normal select it. When the user have long clicked on an item I want to show dialog, with options like "Edit item", "Delete item". The first step works well (ofcourse), but when I am trying to do the second task I can not make spinner to generate longClicked event. Here is my code: this.projectSpinner = (Spinner) this.findViewById(R.id.SpinnerProjects); this.projectSpinner.setLongClickable(true); this.projectSpinner.setOnItemLongClickListener(new AdapterView.OnItemLongClickListener(){ public boolean onItemLongClick(AdapterView<?> arg0, View arg1, int arg2, long arg3) { Toast.makeText( AndroidTimeTrackerMainActivity.this, "Long click", Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show(); // This toast doesn't show up. return false; } });

  • nUnit Assert.That(method,Throws.Exception) not catching exceptions

    - by JasonM
    Hi Everyone, Can someone tell me why this unit test that checks for exceptions fails? Obviously my real test is checking other code but I'm using Int32.Parse to show the issue. [Test] public void MyTest() { Assert.That(Int32.Parse("abc"), Throws.Exception.TypeOf<FormatException>()); } The test fails, giving this error. • How does Photoshop (Or drawing programs) blit?

    - by user146780
    I'm getting ready to make a drawing application in Windows. I'm just wondering, do drawing programs have a memory bitmap which they lock, then set each pixel, then blit? I don't understand how Photoshop can move entire layers without lag or flicker without using hardware acceleration. Also in a program like Expression Design, I could have 200 shapes and move them around all at once with no lag. I'm really wondering how this can be done without GPU help. I don't think super efficient algorithms could justify that? Thanks

  • Creating a db driven primary navigation in django?

    - by Fedor
    I find that it's pretty common most people hardcode the navigation into their templates, but I'm dealing with a pretty dynamic news site which might be better off if the primary nav was db driven. So I was thinking of having a Navigation model where each row would be a link. link_id INT primary key link_name varchar(255) url varchar(255) order INT active boolean If anyone's done something similar in the past, would you say this sort of schema is good enough? I also wanted for there to be an optional dropdown in the admin near the url field so that a user could choose a Category model's slug since category links would be common, but I'm not quite sure how that would be possible.

  • arrays declaration and addressing

    - by avinash
    I have a few straightforward questions:- Is the following correct according to a normal c++ compiler? int arr[3][4]; void func(int *a, int m, int n) { int i,j; cin>>i>>j; cout<< a[i*n + j]; //is this way of addressing correct provided 0<=i<m and 0<=j<n } int main() { func((int*)arr, 3,4); } If the bounds of an array strictly has to be a constant expression, why doesn't the following generate compiler errors? int func(int m, int n) { int arr[m][n]; //m and n are not known until run time }

  • A Better way? Finding ASP.NET controls, finding their id

    - by CSharp
    I have a method that finds all the controls, iterates through them, determines if they are a textbox,drop down list, etc.. retrieves their ID name, and depending on the ID name it will set a boolean statement (thus I would know if that section of the form is complete, and will email to a certain group of people) unfortunetly this is done with too many if statements and was wondering if I could get some help making this more manageable protected void getEmailGroup() { Control[] allControls = FlattenHierachy(Page); foreach (Control control in allControls) { if (control.ID != null) { if (control is TextBox) { TextBox txt = control as TextBox; if (txt.Text != "") { if (control.ID.StartsWith("GenInfo_")) { GenInfo = true; } if (control.ID.StartsWith("EmpInfo_")) { EmpInfo = true; } } } if (control is DropDownList) { DropDownList lb = control as DropDownList; if (lb.SelectedIndex != -1) { if (control.ID.StartsWith("GenInfo_")) { GenInfo = true; } if (control.ID.StartsWith("EmpInfo_")) { EmpInfo = true; } } } } } }

  • Initialization of array on heap

    - by Radek Šimko
    How do i manually initiate values in array on heap? If the array is local variable (in stack), it can be done very elegant and easy way, like this: int myArray[3] = {1,2,3}; Unfortunately, following code int * myArray = new int[3]; myArray = {1,2,3}; outputs an error by compiling error: expected primary-expression before ‘{’ token error: expected `;' before ‘{’ token Do i have to use cycle, or not-so-much-elegant way like this? myArray[0] = 1; myArray[1] = 2; myArray[2] = 3;

  • Why "constructor-way" of declaring variable in "for-loop" allowed but in "if-statement" not allowed?

    - by PiotrNycz
    Consider this simple example: /*1*/ int main() { /*2*/ for (int i(7); i;){break;} /*3*/ if (int i(7)) {} /*4*/ } Why line-2 compiles just fine, whilst line-3 gives the error? This is little strange to me why if-statement is in this aspect treated worse than for-loop? If this is compiler specific - I tested with gcc-4.5.1: prog.cpp: In function 'int main()': prog.cpp:3:7: error: expected primary-expression before 'int' prog.cpp:3:7: error: expected ')' before 'int' I was inspired by this question [UPDATE] I know this compiles just fine: /*1*/ int main() { /*2*/ for (int i = 7; i;){break;} /*3*/ if (int i = 7) {} /*4*/ }

  • Threading errors with Application.LoadComponent (key already exists)

  • Writing an Eval Procedure in Scheme?

    - by Planeman
    My problem isn't with the built-in eval procedure but how to create a simplistic version of it. Just for starters I would like to be able to take this in '(+ 1 2) and have it evaluate the expression + where the quote usually takes off the evaluation. I have been thinking about this and found a couple things that might be useful: Unquote: , (quasiquote) (apply) My main problem is regaining the value of + as a procedure and not a symbol. Once I get that I think I should just be able to use it with the other contents of the list. Any tips or guidance would be much appreciated.

  • How to test Text Search accuracy and efficiency?

    - by DEN
    I have created a web application. One of the feature is text search which perform the boolean operator ( NOT, AND, OR) as well. However, I have no idea on calculating the search's accuracy and efficiency. For example: 1 . Probe identification system for a measurement instrument 2 . Pulse-based impedance measurement instrument 3 . Millimeter with filtered measurement mode when the user key in will return the result as below input :measurement instrument Result: 1,2 input : measurement OR instrument NOT milimeter Result: 1,2,3 so, i have no idea on what issue and what algorithm to calculate on the accuracy and efficiency of the text search.. anyone have any idea on that?
