  Hey. I am trying to load an image for a custom tableViewCell. The code gets run from the CustomCell-class (CustomCell.h) from [cell performSelectorInBackground:@selector(loadImageFromURL:) withObject:[NSURL URLWithString:urlString]]; in the cellForRowAtIndexPath:-function.   If I have a 4x4 gameboard which I'm representing in my program as a 1d integer array of size 16. How can I get the indexs of the squares above, below, to the left and to the right any given index? So, for example: A = { 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 } Which represents this board 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 Lets say I am currently on index #8 in the board (value = 7). How can I get the index for 4 (value = 3) , 5 (value = 6), 10 (value = 11) and realize that there is no right square because it is on the right hand edge of the board. I know I need to use some modulus math but I'm failing to come up with the right way to get the indexes for adjacent squares. I'm thinking something like... if ((i % 4) + 1 < 3) right = i + 1; if ((i % 4) - 1 > 0) left = i - 1; if ((i % 4) + 4 < 15) bottom = i + 4; if ((i % 4) - 4 > 0 ) top = i - 4; Does this seem like it is the right approach?

• CakePHP belongsTo relationship with a variable 'model' field.

  I've got a problem with a belongsTo relationship in CakePHP. I've got an "Action" model that uses the "actions" table and belongs to one of two other models, either "Transaction" or "Tag". The idea being that whenever a user completes a transaction or adds a tag, the action model is created to keep a log of it. I've got that part working, whenever a Transaction or Tag is saved, the aftersave() method also adds an Action record. The problem comes when I try to do a find('all') on the Action model, the related Transaction or Tag record is not being returned. actions: id model model_id created I thought I could use the "conditions" parameter in the belongsTo relationship like this: <?php class Action extends AppModel { var $name = 'Action'; var $actsAs = array('Containable'); var $belongsTo = array( 'Transaction' => array( 'foreignKey' => 'model_id', 'conditions' => array("Action.model"=>"Transaction") ), 'User' => array( 'fields' => array('User.username') ), 'Recommendation' => array( 'conditions' => array("Action.model"=>"Recommendation"), 'foreignKey' => 'model_id' ) ); } ?> But that doesn't work. Am I missing something here, are my relationships wrong (I suspect so)? After Googling this problem I cam across something called Polymorphic Behaviour but I'm not sure this will help me.

• UITableViewCell indentation not in edit mode.

  When you enter editing mode on a grouped-style UITableView, the cells indent to show the editing control (if you aren't sure what I mean, see this picture (editing mode) http://i.imgur.com/GJXvL.png and this (non-editing mode) http://i.imgur.com/ahKYS.png). I am trying to manually indent a cell when the tableView is not in editing mode. I tried the indentationLevel property, but that just moves the text further to the right inside the cell and doesn't actually change the cell. Any ideas?

• Loading a Reusable UITableViewCell from a Nib

  I am able to design custom UITableViewCells and load them just fine using the technique described in the thread found at http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=545061. However, using that method no longer allows you to init the cell with a reuseIdentifier which means you have to create whole new instances of each cell at every call. Has anyone figured out a good way to still cache particular cell types for reuses, but still be able to design them in Interface Builder?

  Hi, I'm trying to set up very basic drag and drop for my NSTableView. The table view has a single column (with a custom cell). The column is bound to an NSArrayController, and the array controller's content array is bound to an NSArray on my controller object. The data displays fine in the table. Is there something I'm supposed to override in the cell subclass to enable this functionality? EDIT: Confirmed. Switching the custom cell for a regular NSTextFieldCell made dragging work. Now, how do I make drag and drop work with my custom cell?

  I need to load a custom cell in a UITableView. I created a custom subclass of UITableViewCell named "CustomTableViewCell". I have added a UITabelViewCell to the tableview (using drag and drop) as shown in figure. Then in file inspector I set the class of that UITabelViewCell to be "CustomTableViewCell". • Binding data to the custom DataGridView

  All, I have a customized DataGridView where I have implemented extra functionality and bounded datasource in the same custom DataGridView (Using C# and .NET). Now, I could able to use it properly by placing it on a panel control. I have added label as button on panel control to display data from datasource on to datagrid and create a binding source. Another Label which act as a button is used to update data from grid to databse. Issue: I pressed show label to display data in a dsatagridview. Modified the grid cell value and immediately pressed update label which is on same panel control. I observed that, the cursor is still in the grid cell when I press Save button. While saving, the cell value is null even though I have entered something in the presentation layer. My expected behaviour is to get the modified value while saving. Special Case: After typing something in the grid cell, if I click on somewhere else like the row below where I entered something, before I click on Save button, it is working fine. (Here, mainly I tried to remove the focus from the currently modified cell) Is there any way to bind sources before I click on save button? Please suggest me. Please feel free to ask me if you need any information. So far after I remove the drive and delete the failed logical drives, I insert the new drive and run HPacucli rescan. I get the new drive to show up as unassinged physical drive but I cant figure out now to "for lack of a better word" mount the 2 logical drives on the new unassinged disk. If I reboot the system the array controller picks up the new fourth drive and creates Array B with the drives without problem but I'd really like to not have to reboot the server. Any ideas?

• Can a function return an object? Objective-C and NSMutableArray

  I have an NSMutableArray. It's members eventually become members of an array instance in a class. I want to put the instantiantion of NSMutable into a function and to return an array object. If I can do this, I can make some of my code easier to read. Is this possible? • Presenting a Popover From a Rect Problem

  I have a UITableViewCell that has some labels and images that can be clicked. I want to present a popover whenever a user clicks on any part of the cell. How can I achieve this without interfering with the click actions of the labels & images? I am currently creating an invisible button ontop of some other clickable items in the cell and calling the popover: [replyPopover presentPopoverFromRect:CGRectMake(77, 25, 408, 68) inView:self permittedArrowDirections: UIPopoverArrowDirectionDown animated:YES]; Unfortunately, because the button is on top of the labels & images I am unable to click them. How can I show a popover by clicking on the background of a cell, so that there is no interference when clicking images & labels inside the cell?

  I'm trying to make a huge Excel sheet reasonably maintainable, but it's huge in the "hundred-table-db" direction, rather than the "hundred-thousand-row-table" direction. • latex padding / margin hell

  hi everyone I have been wrestling with a latex table for far too long. I need a table that has has centered headers, and body cells that contain text that may wrap around. Because of the wrap-around requirement, i'm using p{xxx} instead of l for specifying cell widths. The problem this causes is that cell contents are not left justified, so the look like spaced-out junk. To fix this problem I'm using \flushleft for each cell. This does left justify contents, but puts in a ton of white space above and below the contents of the cell. From there I would like to spike out only the lines that read ‘PJ RER Apts to Share’ as the first element. Then I want to print out the second element only once while counting each time the element appears. I wrote the piece of code below but can’t figure out where I am going wrong. It might be something small that I am just overlooking.   I am trying to perform broad-phase collision detection with a fixed-grid size approach. Thus, for each entity's position: (x,y,z) (each of type float), I need to find which cell does the entity lie in. I then intend to store all the cells in a hash-table and then iterate through to report (if any) collisions. So, here is what I am doing: Grid-cell's position: (int type) (Gx, Gy, Gz) = (x / M, y / M, z / M) where M is the size of the grid. Once, I have a cell, I'd like to add it to a hash-table with its key being a unique hash based on (Gx, Gy, Gz) and the value being the cell itself. Now, I cannot think of a good hash function and I need some help with that. Can someone please suggest me a good hash function? Thanks
