Throw blank even-numbered/left pages

I am trying to typeset a large document using ReportLab and Python 2.7. It has a number of sections (about 6 in a 1,000 page document) and I would like each to start on odd-numbered/right-hand page. I have no idea though whether the preceding page will be odd or even and so need the ability to optionally throw an additional blank page before a particular paragraph style (like you sometimes get in manuals where some pages are "intentionally left blank"). Can anyone suggest how this could be done, as the only conditional page break I can find works on the basis of the amount of text on the page not a page number. I also need to make sure that the blank page is included in the PDF so that double-sided printing works.

Portable website

I have an online presentation to do next week and I have it all ready to go. The website is HTML and CSS only (no DB), and currently resides on my shared hosting account. Now, although my shared hosting is (relatively) reliable, I have noticed that recently they have been making some changes and my website has been unavailable at times. I don't want this to happen to me on the morning of my presentation, so I am asking what is the best way to prepare for such a thing? My domain is www.presentation.mydomain.com and I would like to keep this if possible (even if issues arise). I have been thinking of a few alternatives: Host my site on two different domains or servers (but what about the domain name?) Have a portable XAMPP version on a USB stick (again, domain name?) Possible failover site/location Update The presentation will be carried out on their laptop, not mine. So I am unable to install any software.

Find number of serialized objects

Hello all. My issue is trying to determine a number of objects created, the objects being serialized from an XML document. The XML document should be set up for simplicity, so any developer can add an additional object and need no further modification to the code. However each of these objects need to be handled/updated seperately, and specifically, some of the objects are of different sub-classes, which need to be handled differently. Here is some pseudocode for what I am going for class A { public B myClassB; public void Update() { // for every object of whatever type in myClassB // update logic } } XML: <\data <\object1 etc... So what would be my simplest course of action, allowing other to add objects via the XML, but still ensuring the proper logic happenes for each?

Terminal echo issue

I've been using Ubuntu 10.04 LTS for a while, am quite new, using the terminal, made a script to open a project of mine containing multiple files with gedit - after execution of the respective script - gedit [filename1] [filename2] ... , terminal executes it successfully, gedit opens passed files and terminal is ready for another line. Well, today I came across a strange issue - after the execution of the above mentioned script, gedit initiates successfully, but terminal denies execution of commands and echoes all keyboard events, even specific ctrl+... functions - all until gedit is closed. I can't figure what caused this as my recent activity was focused around a C project, not regarding the terminal in any way. I recall being able to execute another line after initiating e.g. open gedit and compile a project within a single tab and session of a terminal window. Any help would be appreciated! Regards!

Changing XML Namespace with Scala

I am using scala to load a XML file from file via the scala.xml.XML.loadFile() method. The documents I'm working with have namespaces already defined and I wish to change the namespace to something else using scala. For example, a document has a xmlns of "http://foo.com/a" with a prefix of "a" - I would like to change the namespace and prefix for the document to "http://foo.com/b" and "b" respectively. Seems easy and I feel like I'm missing something obvious here. I do not have a problem getting the namespace from the return Elem from the referenced loadFile() method.

changing body class based on user's local time

I'm trying to add a body class of 'day' if it's 6am-5pm and 'night' if "else" based on the user's local time. I tried the following but it didn't work. Any ideas? IE is doing strange things with JQuery

So ... The thing is, the code works in FireFox, no problems. But when I open the same page, it gives me the following error: "Undefined is null or not an object." But when I copy the code to a localhost page, it works fine. Also when I clear my cache in IE it works, but only once, if I refresh after that one load, it gives me the same error. I'm trying to remove a dynamic form field by click a button. It will also subtract whatever values it had from the total amount from my calculation. If I comment out the rest of the code it will work, but not with the rest of the code. I know this is something simple, yet I can't seem to wrap my mind around it. Can someone please help?

I am trying to build an app which will compare the two images and gives the Matching Percentage. I am taking two Images from The camera(Making use of UIImagePickerController) and saving it to the document directory.Then i fetch these images in a different view controller to get the face part, using CIDetector API and CIfacefeature API. The problem is It is not detecting the face at all through i am able to fetch the images properly. And if i store the same image in the main bundle it detects. I dnt know where the problem is. I have tried everything. May Be the problem is with the UIImage or may be the format in which image is getting saved in document directory or with the camera. Please help. I will be grateful to you. How do I Capture native (Menu) button presses in PhoneGap?

By calling "BackButton.override();" and then hooking on to the backKeyDown event, I am able to get the back button press to register. But there doesn't appear to be a "MenuButton.override();" Also, hooking on the menuKeyDown doesn't register a button press. Here's my (non-functional) code. I am looking for a list of all JavaScript event handlers (such as onLoad, onSubmit ect...) and the corresponding html tags that they can be applied to. This is is the best document I have found so far, but I believe it is is incomplete. The W3 specs are even worse, all it says is "This attribute may be used with most elements.". All browsers have their own quarks, if you know of a document for a specific browser like Firefox or IE that would also be helpful.

Eclipse does not recognize the file ID

I'm trying to create a button in the application from one activity to another. The document resource/values/strings.xml created for this ID: <string name="button1name"> CID </ string> But the document GurovPictures.java (this is my main activity) when I insert a line: Button but1 = (Button) findViewById (R.id.button1); This "button1" does not become blue like "editText1". Do you happen to know how to fix it? Just the internet no entries found.

This happens when the page is reloaded for other purposes. Why is it getting hung here when the method shouldn't even be getting called? What is wrong with me - bug problem? [closed]

I have about 6 years exp. in app. development. Not so long ago I had moved to another company and the problem has started. I ready don't know why the last time Im making so many bugs/mistakes. Of course Im testing the functionality before I send message that its "done", but I really don't know why I can't see trivial bugs. Some time it looks like I didnt test anything, but its not true. Ive always had this problems but now its pain in the a.s. My question is very simple, what happened to me ;)? Ok, joke aside. What do you do to avoid simple mistakes? plzzz don't tell me to use TDD. The project is... legacy and Im really sick and tired to fix it and adding more bugs into it. best regards
