• how to call a C++ dll from C# windows application project

  I have created a dll in C++ using a Class Library project in Visual Studio. I need to call a method in the dll from a C# application. I got to know there are 2 approches. One is to add the dll project reference to C# project or use DllExport to export method. However when I tried in both ways it always gives the following error when the dll method is called in runtime. An unhandled exception of type 'System.BadImageFormatException' occurred in TestClient.exe Additional information: An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007000B) Can i know how to avoid this problem ? Thanks in advance!

  I understand it is possible to sell the same application both in the market and outside it, great. I still don't understand a few things, that AFAIK are not mentioned in the contract but I might have missed or misunderstood something, so I'm going to ask. Disclaimer: I know you're not a lawyer, etc. etc. Let's say I give in the market a demo version, and I sell in the market the full version too. May I also sell the full version outside the market? I understand that you can't give away the demo in the market and then collect the payment outside, but what if I do allow the user to buy it in the market, but also allow him to buy outside the market? What if I charge a lower price if he buys outside the market?

• Communication between Multiple Threads in a WPF Application

  I'm creating a WPF application that uses a custom object to populate all the controls. The constructor of that object is initiated by an EventHandler that waits for an API. The problem I'm having is when I try to access any information from that object using a button for example, it returns an error saying "The calling thread cannot access this object because a different thread owns it". I'm assuming this is because the EventHandler creates a new thread which doesn't allow the Main Thread to have access to it. Any ideas on how to get around this? I'm basically having the error "The calling thread cannot access this object because a different thread owns it" when trying to get or set a CollectionViewSource.

  I'm searching for some code samples for my Flash application. The app is based on screen-flows , i.e each screen is defined with some visual elements with some buttons which have async events associated with them(consuming web services basically). The buttons also have functionality to go back and forth between screens and jump to any screen. I want to define all of the visual elements and the functionality of the events in a XML file. Thus the model, view and controller are all in the XML. Does any framework allow this like Pure MVC? Where can I find some examples of this kind of functionality that I want?

First I am taking the war folder already exploded and copy it in jetty/webapps, then in folder context. • Open another application from your own (intent)

  I know how to update my own programs, and I know how to open programs using the a predefined Uri (for sms or email for example) I need to know how I can create an Intent to open MyTracks or any other application that I don't know what intents they listen to. I got this info from DDMS, but I havn't been succesful in turning this to an Intent I can use. This is taken from when opening MyTracks manually.   Hi, We are planning to develop a client server application using C# and MySQL. We plan to sell the product on the shelf like any other software utility. We are worried about the decompilation of our product which does have some sort of edge over our competitors in terms of usability and bundled functionality. How can we prevent our software from decompilation, so the business logic of the product remains intact? We have heard about Reflector and other decompilers which makes our code very much vulnerable for copying. Our customer base is not Corporates by medical practitioners who themselves may not do it but our competitors may want to copy/disable licensing so value of our software goes down. • Right programing language for developing application for Mac

  I'm planing to buy Mac. I would like to be able to develop GUI aplication for Mac as well. Currently I develop in C# using VisualStudio as IDE. I also know Java and I'm familiar with NetBeans IDE. Application created in both of this languages can run on Mac (as can NetBeans IDE) but I was told that neither C# nor Java is recomended for MacOS X development. So what language is recomended for MacOS X development ? I guess there is some recomodation from Apple for the developers ? I would prefer Object-oriented easy-to-use programing language (nothing like C) with good IDE that supports GUI creating (GUI designer). Thank you for answers

  Hello I need to find out exactly what files/directories a Lua program uses so I can try to only pack what it needs into a ZIP file, and come up with a simple way to deploy this script. I used SysInternals' Process Monitor, but I'm surprised by the small amount of information it returned while it watched the program (For Lua users out there, it's wsapi.exe, which is the launcher for the light-weight Xavante web server). Does someone know of a good Windows application that can completely monitor what a program does, eg. something like a live version of the venerable PCMag's InCtrl5. Thank you.

• Android application: showing overlay items in AsyncTask

  I am building an android application that uses google maps to overlay items. The latitude and longitude for the items I get from a MySQL database. To do this I connect to a php script using HTTP in Async Task. My code for displaying items on the map is in the onPostExecute() method of Async Task. Everything works fine but when I for example rotate the phone all my overlayed items disappear. How can I resolve this issue? Should overlaying the items happen in the main thread? If so, I need to somehow pass the information from the async taks to the main thread, which I have looked into but have not been able to get that working. If somebody knows a good and right way to do this, I would really appreciate the help.

• Accessing hard-coded data in a C# application.

  I'm trying to avaid hardcoding in a .net 2.0 soon to be 3.5 application. I have a large enumneration which I wish to map 1 to 1 to a set of strings. Each enumerated value will also map to 1 of 2 values indicating an action. The existing code does this with a big switch statement but this seems ugly to me. Is there a better way of storing and accessing the data? I've thought about resx files but when you consider that the designer file contains just as many hardcoded values it seems a little pointless. Is embedding an xml file in the assembly a good idea? Is a big switch statement not as bad as it seems? Is there a better solution?

  Does anybody know of a good service or tool for continuos application monitoring? I'm looking specifically for something that is hosted, so we don't have to worry to much about the fact that the monitoring tool is actually running. Specifically, we have a few e-commerce customers that we would like to provide detailed monitoring services for. We don't want to simply monitor uptime, we'd like to go through the entire checkout process once a day or even more often to ensure everything's working (adding to cart, shipping calculations, payment processing, etc). We've tried site24x7.com but their recording tool just doesn't seem to offer the level of customization we need. Does anybody have any recommendations?

  I want to install a logger so that I can dump all executed SQL of my rails application. Problem is, such logger is associated with AbstractAdapter which initialized very soon under test mode, and thus cannot be set by my initializer code. I try to put ActiveRecord::Base.logger = MyCustomLogger.new(STDOUT) in the end of environment.rb like someone advised but it only works when being run in console environment (kicked by script/console), not when run under test mode. I wonder if there is any way to config such logger so that I will sure to be invoked under any environment (test, development, production, console)

  Hi, I'm getting the screenshots from the following code:- CGImageRef cgScreen = UIGetScreenImage(); if (cgScreen) { UIImage *result = [UIImage imageWithCGImage:cgScreen]; CGImageRelease(cgScreen); return result; } I'm calling the above code in a timer of 1/1.0 seconds as:- [array addObject:[UIImage imageWithScreenContents]]; where imagewithScreenContents is a function.   I've noticed that when using $.post() in jquery that the default contentType is application/x-www-form-urlencoded - when my asp.net mvc code needs to have contentType=application/json (See this question for why I must use application/json: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2792603/aspnet-mvc-why-is-modelstate-isvalid-false-the-x-field-is-required-when-that) How can I make $.post() send contentType=application/json? I already have a large number of $.post() functions, so I don't want to change to $.ajax() because it would take too much time If I try $.post(url, data, function(), "json") It still has contentType=application/x-www-form-urlencoded. So what exactly does the "json" param do if it does not change the contenttype to json? If I try $.ajaxSetup({ contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8" }); That works but affects every single $.get and $.post that I have and causes some to break. So is there some way that I can change the behavior of $.post() to send contentType=application/json?

What I mean are the following functions: New document: if there are not saved changes in the current document, a dialog box opens ('Do you want to save changes to {0}?') with Yes/No/Cancel buttons. If Cancel is hit, the operation stops. Open document: same dialog box as at new document, and an Open dialog opens after Save document: if the current document hasn't been saved, a Save dialog opens Save as: you can imagine... So, is there anything standard in the .NET framework like this or do I have to manually implement it?

  I would like to implement a way to trace every line of code in an application that is written for .net v4.0. An example would be. If I had the following function. private bool hasValue(string value) { if(string.isnullorempty(value) { return false; } else { return true; }} Then when the function is called I want detailed trace logs to contain something like this: Function called |Line 10 |Signature private bool hasValue(string value)|ValuesPassed hasValue("") Line Evaluated | Line 11 | if(string.isnullorempty(value) |ValuesPassed if(string.isnullorempty("") - evaluation returned true entered line 13 |signature return false|return action taken. This tracing can be done manually, but its a lot of work, and would dirty the code. Isn't there a way to get this level of tracing automatically with .net or 3rd party plugin? Thank you
