• How to access project files from NUnit tests

  I have some Tests that I run with ReSharpers "Run All Tests from Solution" feature. One of the classes being tested has a dependency on a file in the same folder as the assembly containing it. This file is copied to the output directory via MSBuild (set "Copy To Output Directory" to "Copy always"). Problem: The tests are not being run from the normal assembly output directory, but instead some temporary location in my user profile. Therefore, I don't really know where to look for the file - the test runner does not copy it there. Can I force it to?

• Git is ignoring .git directories in subdirectories

  I'm using git as a backup tool and 'roaming profile' for my $HOME directory between laptop and desktop. My problem is that under my $HOME I have a Development directory with multiple git projects I'm working on. Git will not allow me to add the subdirectories .git folders. So to commit to these projects I have to push the changes into my $HOME git repo, pull on laptop (where they were created and .git dir exsits) and commit. I've read about submodules, but it's not really what I want. I just want the children .git folders to be treated like any old directory so I can move them around and back them up. Has anyone done this or have an idea how I would?

  Hi, I am using Net Beans for developing an application on S60. I made one page for user authentication and using .net wcf service to authenticate user. i am able to send data on .net service by HttpGet method but not able to get response back on java page. I have tested it on fiddler with this url its working fine and returning response code 200, but not getting response code by java code. Following code i am using. • ASP.Net MVC 2 / EF 4 Reference Issue

  My ASP.Net MVC 2 project references a Domain project where POCO business objects are defined and a Data project where EF 4 POCO persistence is implemented. Things were running well until I had a little fussiness with my version control provider (rollback to previous version left me with merge conflicts). Now, upon launching the MVC 2 project, I get a runtime error: The type 'System.Data.Objects.DataClasses.IEntityWithKey' is defined in an assembly that is not referenced. You must add a reference to assembly 'System.Data.Entity, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089'. However, every project references System.Data.Entity (same version). If I remove the reference to System.Data.Entity from the MVC 2 project, I get the same message as a compile-time error. I'm pretty sure something got messed up when I had the version control issue, but really not sure where to look for this one.

My hosting provider assures me that ports are open for my server to connect to the DB. Looking at my php info, MSSQL Support is enabled, using FreeTDS. Any ideas why this would be failing, or how I can begin trouble shooting the problem?

• Why could Shark be so slow?

  I'm trying to profile Ruby interpreter. I run shark -i ./ruby bm_sudoku.rb or something like that, the script finishes in less than a second, and then Shark goes to "CHUDData - Analyzing samples... 99.3%.." point and stays there frozen for 10 minutes or so. It finishes eventually, it's just so ridiculously slow it's pretty much unusable. Version I have here is OSX 10.5, shark 4.6.1 (227). Any ideas what that might be?

  I am in the process of unit testing a DAO built with Spring/JPA and Hibernate as the provider. Prior to running the test, DBUnit inserted a User record with username "poweruser" -- username is the primary key in the users table.   I'm trying to get In App Purchase with my existing iPad App working. I'm stuck retrieving the Product Information from App Store: - (void)productsRequest:(SKProductsRequest *)request didReceiveResponse:(SKProductsResponse *)response The SKProductsResponse only contains invalid Product IDs. I tried every potential solution I found here or on the net: my App ID has In App enabled I generated a new provisioning profile and installed it on my device I restarted the device my App ID is the same as in my Info.plist (it's in the Store since weeks) I added In App Purchases for the App with "cleared for sale" checked I added Screenshots to my In App Purchases I tried different naming schemes for the Product ID I made triple checked that I pass the correct Product ID to the SKProductsRequest I'm passing a NSSet to the SKProductsRequest instead of a MutableSet I updated my App with the upcoming version containing in App purchase and submitted it for Review I approved one of my In App Purchases, just to see if that helps I waited more than 24 hours All of these actions brought me nothing but invalid Product IDs. I hope someone can point me into the right direction, because I'm running out of ideas.

• Django User "per project" group assignation

  Hi, Here's my problem : my site has users, which can create projects, and access other user's projects. Each project can assign different rights to users. So, i could have Project A : user "John" is in group "manager" , and Project "B" user "John" is in group "worker". How could I use the Django User authentication model to do that ? From a SQL point a view, what i would like is to be able to add "project_id" in the primary key for the "auth_user_groups" table. I don't think profile is of any help here. Any advice ? UPDATE : "worker" and "manager" are just two examples of the permission group (or "roles") that my application defines. There will be more in the future. Eg : i will probably also have "admin", "reporting", etc...

  I have recently started learning python and django and working on a project that includes building a website for collecting information from customers. I am currently trying to figure out best way to isolate the customer data (collected information is sensitive and should only be accessible by customer and the service provider). I found this post Postgresql - one database for everyone, or one-database per customer and my question is that can I automate the model inheritance with customer creation via admin? To be specific, when save() is called for adding customer via django admin, this should create the customer specific tables (create a new set of tables with 'company_name' -prefix). For more information of the environment, I have extended the basic user registration with custom UserProfile adding 'company' and 'role' fields for each user. Upon login, the 'company' of the user will be checked to filter out tables without the 'company_name' prefix. 'Role' will further filter the which company-specific tables and set rights (view, edit). will appreciate any suggestions if more elegant methods could be used to solve the data isolation problem than model inheritance.

  I am wondering about my VPS providers ubuntu terminal. Are all these terminals the same? I think they are so user-UN-friendly. I can't copy-paste into the terminal, when I try opening textfiles, I can't scroll up and down easily. I cant save easily. Nothing is easy... Is it always like this with Ubuntu? Is there any way to make it easier? I use windows but I login to my vps provider with login details and then simply click "terminal" to open the terminal. Please help me out here

• Can I assign a maven dependency to a specific repo?

  So I have several large projects that use up to 8 different external repos, all specified in settings.xml rather than in poms. A lot of our internal dependencies are snapshots, so this obviously causes a lot of checking for updates across several external repos, when they are all in our internal repo. So my question is, is there a way to setup a profile/filter or anything similar where I can ensure that an update will only be checked for in a specific repo(s)? This is all in the spirit of better/quicker builds. Thanks!

  Hi, I've just started to use Sharepoint 2007, MOSS is installed but for the extranet I'm working on the publishing isn't switched on. What I need to do is customise the global navigation so that it displays all top level & subsite links, custom links and format it nicely with css for the brand. Sounds easy but it isn't for some reason! I've been reading numerous blogs and things about it but can't seem to find anything other than writing lots of code (which I don't mind) to hook into the API or use a customer provider which sounds extreme for something so simple. I was wondering what are the options for this and any good links to articles appreciated so I can finally get this simeple task done. I see the MOSS navigation has extra options for global navigation but I presume as this isn't enabled I couldn't use the same code/control in the master page? Thanks Dan

My question is if .NET Framework 4 is in any way dependent on previous versions of the framework being installed on the client machine or if my users will have to download only 29 (or 35) MB if I develop a Winforms or WPF desktop application in VS 2010 targeting .NET Framework version 4.0? Edit: Wikipedia concurs with the answers: Some developers have expressed concerns about the large size of .NET framework runtime installers for end-users. The size is around 54 MB for .NET 3.0, 197 MB for .NET 3.5, and 250 MB for .NET 3.5 SP1 (while using web installer the typical download for Windows XP is around 50 MB, for Windows Vista - 20 MB). The size issue is partially solved with .NET 4 installer (x86 + x64) being 54 MB and not embedding full runtime installation packages for previous versions.

• Optimizing an iphone app for 3G in landscape with opengl, camera, quartz

  I have an iphone app that basically uses the camera, an opengl layer, and UIViews (some drawing with Quartz). It runs ok on 3GS, but on the 3G it is unusable. Particularly, when I press a UIButton, it literally takes sometimes 10 seconds to register the press. Shark doesn't do me much good because it crashes when I try to profile even a tiny portion, and I've tried turning off some of the layers to see if they might be obvious contributors to the lag. I've noticed that turning off the camera really helps. I'm wondering if anyone has any familiarity with this and might suggest some likely causes. I had issues with extreme slowdown from running my app in landscape mode and using transforms, so considered that might be a cause, but I'm wondering if hoping for a 3G to run something with all of the above elements is just not really possible considering the camera seems to really cost a lot. The fact that the buttons are horribly delayed in their response makes me think there is something fundamental that I might be missing.
