  Guys, I have been looking for a portable method to digitally sign arbitrary text which can be placed in a document and distributed while maintaining its verifiable origin. Here is an example: a = 'some text' a.sign(<private key>) # => <some signature in ASCII format> The contents of a can now be distributed freely. If a receiver wants to check the validity of said text they can do the following: b = 'some text' b.valid(<public key>, <signature supplied with text>) # => true/false Is there any library out there that already offers this kind of functionality? • Check if NSString "000001XX"is a number with intValue

  Now I am trying to add a front end check on my app to detect if user input only number in the textfield. In my text, text is "00001aa", but the intValue is 1. Is there any other way to filter out this "00001aa" text? Thanks in advance.

• Visual web page designer for Django?

  I'm just starting my Django learning so pardon me if any part of this question is off-base. I have done a lot of web searching for information on the equivalent of a visual web page designer for Django and I don't seem to be getting very far. I have experience with Delphi (Object Pascal), C, C++, Python, PHP, Java, and Javascript and have created and maintained several web sites that included MySQL database dependent content. For the longest time I've been using one of the standard WYSIWIG designers to design the actual web pages, with any needed back end programming done via Forms or AJAX calls that call server side PHP scripts. I have grown tired of the quirks, bugs, and other annoyances associated with the program. Also, I find myself hungry for the functionality and reliability a good MVC based framework would provide me so I could really express myself with custom code easily. So I am turning to Django/Python. However, I'm still a junkie for a good WYSIWIG designer for the layout of web pages. I know there are some out there that thrive on opening up a text editor, possibly with some code editor tools to assist, and pounding out pages. But I do adore a drag and drop editor for simple page layout, especially for things like embedded images, tables, buttons, etc. I found a few open source projects on GitHub but they seem to be focused on HTML web forms, not a generic web page editor. So can I get what I want here? The supreme goal would be to find not only a web page editor that creates Django compatible web pages, but if I dare say it, have a design editor that could add Python code stubs to various page elements in the style of the Delph/VCL or VB design editors. Note, I also have the Wing IDE Professional IDE, version 2.0. As a side note, if you know of any really cool, fun, or time-saving Python libraries that are designed for easy integration into Django please tell me about them. -- roschler

• Disable alt + tab moving windows by itself

  Whenever I press Alt + Tab , Unity moves the window I'm switching to so that the whole window is inside the screen. This behavior is excruciatingly annoying because I often move a window (usually text editors) partially outside the current screen so I can view another window below it (usually a browser). Every time I Alt + Tab back to the text editor, I'm getting an unnecessary virtual screen switch, and Unity is rearranging the windows behind my back. For instance, here is a browser and text editor on Virtual Screen 1 (top left), note that the text editor is partially outside the current screen: Then I Alt-Tab to the browser (or clicked on it): Next, I Alt + Tab again to get back to the text editor, but Alt-Tab switched me to Virtual Screen 4 (bottom right) because a larger percentage of the text editor window is on virtual screen 4 than in virtual screen 1; and the browser is no longer in the screen. Also note that the text editor window moves from being on the bottom-right to the top-left, which is very disorienting as I can no longer keep track of where any of my windows are since they all keep moving around by themselves.. How do I disable this behavior? I don't want to have any virtual screen switch when Alt + Tab , especially since Alt + Tab does not list windows that is completely not in the current virtual screen anyway.

• Adding <span> tags to all text nodes between custom self closing tags.

  I have a pair of custom self closing tags s1 and s2 defined in namespace x in my xhtml. For each tag pair s1, s2 having the same id, I want to add span tags to all the text nodes between them. Each s1, s2 tag pair have a unique id. The s1 tag has an attribute 'styleName' which needs to be copied as the class name for the span tags populated for the s1,s2 pair. Within a s1, s2 tag pair, other s1, s2 tags can occur. It is the id attribute of the tags s1 and s2 that help us to find the postion from where we need to start populating the span(for text nodes alone) and the end where we need to stop. In case of common text nodes that is part of the multiple s1, s2 pairs then the span tags needs to be opened and closed appropirately as shown in the sample below. I am not specific with the format of the id populated for the span tag. Along as it is unique it is fine. Can we achive this kind of a solution using XSL. I am using Saxon processor. • Why is Evince not displaying application fonts/text for me?

  Any time I use Evince, it just shows boxes where all the text should be. Instead, it uses the box symbol which I know stands for not being able to find a character. This problem occurs on every menu, and makes it impossible to tell what's going on in any part of the application. I've tried Googling for this problem, but my -fu is weak or it's hard to search for. I'm pretty tech-literate, and I'm running a fairly stock 10.10 install with GNOME.

  Textmate on the Mac can be bound to the txmt protocol, meaning that development frameworks (such as the Play Framework) can be configured to use this to display error messages. If a stacktrace appears, each line of the stacktrace is a URL of the format (I'm guessing): txmt:///home/myuser/projects/myproject/ProblemFile.java:123 (where 123 is the line number). Clicking this opens the file in Textmate. Is this possible with Gedit, Geany or another programmer's text editor?

• How to keep Ubuntu 11.10 and Kate editor w/terminal from changing command line when changing tabs?

  I am programming C using Kate editor in Ubuntu 11.10. It works great, but when I change tabs in Kate, the terminal line changes to the file path of the tab I click on. Normally this is not a big deal (other than annoyingly adding extra text to my terminal) however if I am currently RUNNNING a C program, it obviously will type at the command line, which is not so cool. Example terminal window for my C program (its at a menu): 1) select opt 1 2) select opt 2 Enter choice: (here it waits for prompt from user) Now when I click a tab in Kate, it wants to put in the cd / path of the file in that tab, such as: cd /home/user/os/files And of course since my terminal was waiting for prompt from user it gets that command.. not good. Perhaps there is no fix, but maybe someone knows? Obviously I could choose NOT to switch tabs or end program before switching tabs... Note: I probably made the mistake of putting this under StackOverflow which is more of a programming area - so though repost here might be best (I am not sure how to link the questions but will paste hyperlink to that post - I dont want to violate any stackoverflow/superuser violations) Suggestions on merging them are welcome or if I should delete one?   I'm familiar with Notepad++'s code collapse for certain programming languages but recently I've been working with a plain text file that uses with Wiki syntax. • How do I locate the CGRect for a substring of text in a UILabel?

  For a given NSRange, I'd like to find a CGRect in a UILabel that corresponds to the glyphs of that NSRange. For example, I'd like to find the CGRect that contains the word "dog" in the sentence "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog." The trick is, the UILabel has multiple lines, and the text is really attributedText, so it's a bit tough to find the exact position of the string. The method that I'd like to write on my UILabel subclass would look something like this: - (CGRect)rectForSubstringWithRange:(NSRange)range; Details, for those who are interested: My goal with this is to be able to create a new UILabel with the exact appearance and position of the UILabel, that I can then animate. I've got the rest figured out, but it's this step in particular that's holding me back at the moment. What I've done to try and solve the issue so far: I'd hoped that with iOS 7, there'd be a bit of Text Kit that would solve this problem, but most every example I've seen with Text Kit focuses on UITextView and UITextField, rather than UILabel. I've seen another question on Stack Overflow here that promises to solve the problem, but the accepted answer is over two years old, and the code doesn't perform well with attributed text. I'd bet that the right answer to this involves one of the following: Using a standard Text Kit method to solve this problem in a single line of code. I'd bet it would involve NSLayoutManager and textContainerForGlyphAtIndex:effectiveRange Writing a complex method that breaks the UILabel into lines, and finds the rect of a glyph within a line, likely using Core Text methods. My current best bet is to take apart @mattt's excellent TTTAttributedLabel, which has a method that finds a glyph at a point - if I invert that, and find the point for a glyph, that might work. • How do I enable SVN menu in an editor window in Eclipse?

  The SVN menu is disabled whenever I'm in an edit window; it's enabled when I'm in the Navigator or similar file browsing windows. I'd like to have the SVN menu enabled while the editor window is open in order so that I can set up a key binding and commit while editing the document rather than having to switch over to the navigation view to commit a file. This is Eclipse 3.5 using Eclipse's Subversion Connectors plugin. This may be related: I had to do a reinstall of eclipse and a fair number of the keybindings no longer work the way the once did. In addition, many keystrokes now only work in windows only instead of windows and dialogs (specifically select all, copy, and paste). If these problems are related and there's an easy way to repair or refresh my keybindings without having to start over completely that would be great. Clarification I know how to set up key mappings. That's not a problem. I have them set up. The problem is that the SVN menu is disabled in the editor pane. I can access the SVN menu from the Navigator or similar panes, and I've set up the keymappings exactly the way I want them. They just aren't working in all contexts.

• jquery XML .html() instead of .text() is not displaying?

  I can't seem to figure out this problem. I am trying to get xml to render html tags. The problem I am having using .text() will display but not recognize any html tags. If I use .html() or just call var long2 = $(this).find('long'); nothing will show up in Safari or IE. I have xml paragraph I have text in here that needs bold tags or tags which is why i need html tags in the xml to be recognized.   I'm trying to use jQuery to insert HTML into a table element. I've been messing variations of the selector (below) with no luck. Can someone help me? • How can I parse/ transform text log data before it gets captured in SCOM 2007 R2?

  I'm pretty much a noob with System Center Operations Manager 2007, and I'm probably missing something pretty basic, but I'm stumped anyway. We're setting up monitoring on some of our servers, and we'd like to capture data from some plain text log files (e.g. DNS debug logs, DHCP logs). It looks to me like I can set up a generic text file monitoring rule and get events captured into the main Ops Manager database, but my understanding is that the whole line of text from the plain text log gets captured as one field. In an ideal world, we'd be able to parse or transform that log file data to make it easier to query later. Is this possible? Is it easy? Do I have to buy expensive 3rd-party software to do it? One more thing: it would be even better if there was a way to stuff this data into the Audit Collection Services (ACS) database instead of the main one, but I'll take what I can get. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  Faced problem while setting background color for any element in Visual Studio 2010 editor. Selection color doesn't override this background color. So then it's very inconvenient to work with selections in editor. Case when only string literal is selected it's almost impossible to distinguish colors and see what part of string is selected. Is there any possibility to fix the problem by changing some options? Or it's a Visual Studio bug?
