How can I wait before a page is completely loaded before I continue? //This is pseudo code, but this should give you an idea of what I'm trying to do. • C#: How do I get the path of the assembly the code is in?

  Is there a way to get the path for the assembly in which the current code resides? I do not want the path of the calling assembly, just the one containing the code. Basically my unit test needs to read some xml test files which are located relative to the dll. I want the path to always resolve correctly regardless of whether the testing dll is run from TestDriven.NET, the MbUnit GUI or something else. Edit: People seem to be misunderstanding what I'm asking. My test library is located in say c:\projects\myapplication\daotests\bin\Debug\daotests.dll and I would like to get the "*c:\projects\myapplication\daotests\bin\Debug*" path. The three suggestions so far fail me when I run from the MbUnit Gui: Console.Out.Write(Environment.CurrentDirectory) gives c:\Program Files\MbUnit Console.Out.Write(System.Reflection.Assembly.GetAssembly(typeof(DaoTests)).Location) gives C:\Documents and Settings\george\Local Settings\Temp\ ....\DaoTests.dll Console.Out.Write(System.Reflection.Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly().Location) gives the same as the previous

• Weird Workflow Behavior in Sharepoint 2007

  I have a Document Library A and a list B. When a document added to A, an item is created in B with the Title = A.Url. Another workflow runs whenever a document is updated in A which makes a lookup: B.Title = A.Url, and changes another column in B in found item. Item Change Workflow always gives "Error Occurred: List item is not found". I modified the workflow to send me an e-mail containing the new (but unchanged) A.Url. It sent me the exact string with the one already in list B. Anyways, why it can't find the item when the two columns are equal? Thanks in advance. Edit I literally hate Microsoft Sharepoint.

• Is it possible to "intercept" a 3rd party library's "WriteFile" operation

  This is likely a long shot, but I thought I'd ask anyway. I'm using a document management system's API. They provide a "WriteFile" method to save a given document to disk. However, the library does not have a way to simply read a document into memory. My only option, it seems, is to write to disk, then read it back in again. I'm wondering if there is a better way to work around this obvious limitation. Thanks in advance!

• Problems with XAML WPF 4.0 Editor in VS2010

  Wondering if anybody else has found some very odd behaviour with the XAML/WPF 4 editor in VS2010. This only occurs if the project is using .NET 4. Whenever I tried to open a XAML document for editing, the window would appear to open for a split second and then vanish, but VS2010 would still list the window as open. The fault was eventually traced to having the "Reuse current document window, if saved" option under "Documents" in the "Environment" options checked. Once this was unchecked XAML 4 files opened as expected. As I said, this only appears to occur on projects targeted at .NET Framework 4 - those targeted at 3.5 worked without a problem, and the "Reuse current document window, if saved" appears to work fine on other files.

  I have the following code in a project that write's the ascii representation of packet to a unix tty: int written = 0; int start_of_data = 3; //write data to fifo while (length) { if ((written = write(fifo_fd, &packet[start_of_data], length)) == -1) { printf("Error writing to FIFO\n"); } else { length -= written; } } I just want to take the data that would have been written to the socket and put it in a variable. to debug, I have just been trying to printf the first letter/digit. I have tried numerous ways to get it to print out, but I keep getting hex forms (I think). The expected output is: 13176 and the hex value is: 31 33 31 37 36 0D 0A (if that is even hex) Obviously my C skills are not the sharpest tools in the shed. Any help would be appreciated.

If the connection is successful, I can verify that ServerConnection.ConnectTimeout is set to 2 (seconds), but when I supply a bogus name for the SQL Server instance, it still attempts to connect to it for ~ 15 seconds (which is I believe the default timeout value). Does anyone have experience with setting SMO connection timeout? Thank you in advance.

More precisely, is there a way to accomplish <script type="text/javascript"> document.write("foo"); </script> ... without the use of document.write? I am not happy about using document.write after reading this.   I have an html document, and I want to pull the tables out of this document and return them as arrays. I'm picturing 2 functions, one that finds all the html tables in a document, and a second one that turns html tables into 2-dimensional arrays. Something like this: htmltables = get_tables(htmldocument) for table in htmltables: array=make_array(table) There's 2 catches: 1. The number tables varies day to day 2. The tables have all kinds of weird extra formatting, like bold and blink tags, randomly thrown in. Thanks!

• SharePoint - DIP problem on local copies downloaded from the portal

  Our users have issues where the Document Information Panel(DIP) appears on Word, Excel, PPT documents. Here is the scenario: User downloads a copy of a template from the portal to his/her local hard drive. User edits that template and renames the file, again saving it to his/her local drive. User continues to edit and update that new document, and it continues to prompt him/her for document information as if the user was saving it on the portal. User clicks the “X” to remove this DIP bar, the next time he/she opens the local file it comes back. Is there anything I can do to make the DIP NOT SHOW on the local copies? Thanks!

• c# Regex on XML string handler

  Hi guys. Trying to fiddle around with regex here, my first attempt. Im trying to extract some figures out of content from an XML tag. The content looks like this: www.blahblah.se/maps.aspx?isAlert=true&lat=51.958855252721&lon=-0.517657021473527 I need to extract the lat and long numerical vales out of each link. They will always be the same amount of characters, and the lon may or may not have a "-" sign. • Windows Sharepoint Service (WSS) 3.0 search Issue

  Based on this http://servergrrl.blogspot.com/2008/02/how-to-use-wss-30-to-search-more-than.html blog, I've created a domain account for testing and sets the permission at the side level as well as Document Library to allow specific user (DOMAIN/TestUser1) allow accessing this folder. Now, it's interesting that the user can see the document by drilling though BUT it won't be able to search and the document couldn't find it. But if I tested with the site owner (both primary and secondary), it works nicely. What did I do wrong then? It must be related on permission but I cound't work out what it is. BTW ... I am using WSS not MOSS 2007. Thanks

• Creating BlackBerry method stubs using wscompile on WSDL from ColdFusion

  I have been working on a BlackBerry application that consumes web services from ColdFusion 7. The Java ME SDK and the Java Wireless Toolkit both require that the generated WSDL be of the document/literal type. Fortunately, I have input on the web service development so I tried setting 'style="document"' in the cfcomponent tag. This generated a document/literal style WSDL but now wscompile generates the following errors in several places: Found unknown simple type: javax.xml.soap.SOAPElement Found unknown simple type: java.util.Calendar Any ideas why this is happening? The WSDL does get parsed correctly by the JWSDP tool but the stubs use namespaces that are not available in the J2ME platform. I would have thought ColdFusion WSDL would work more easily with other products in the Java family.

• Django + WebKit = Broken pipe

  I'm running the Django 1.2 development server and I get these Broken Pipe error messages whenever I load a page from it with Chrome or Safari. My co-worker is getting the error as well when he loads a page from his dev server. We don't have these errors when using Opera or Firefox. Is there a solution already out there that does the following: can be configured with an arbitrary XSL stylesheet generates a web form based on an arbitrary XML document and the XSL creates edit functionality in appropriate places in the rendered form updates the local representation of the XML document provides capabilities to view, save the new XML document Ideally, one that plugs into a Java web application. Even better if it can generate the XSL based on schema documents - but that might not be feasible, not really thought it through.   I am trying to use the new LiveConnect features introduced in Java 6 Update 10. Code looks like this (copied from the applet tutorial): Class<?> c = Class.forName("com.sun.java.browser.plugin2.DOM"); Method m = c.getMethod("getDocument", java.applet.Applet.class); Document document = (Document) m.invoke(null, this); But all I am getting is a ClassNotFoundException for the entry-point class. This on the Mac, 10.6, with both Firefox and Safari. Java Plug-in 1.6.0_22 Using JRE version 1.6.0_22-b04-307-10M3261 Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM Is this not implemented on the Mac? Or do I need to configure something? All I need to do is get and set the value of form elements on the page, so I would be fine with an older (pre-6u10) API if that works better.

  I am trying to use IDF scores to find interesting phrases in my pretty huge corpus of documents. I basically need something like Amazon's Statistically Improbable Phrases, i.e. phrases that distinguish a document from all the others The problem that I am running into is that some (3,4)-grams in my data which have super-high idf actually consist of component unigrams and bigrams which have really low idf.. For example, "you've never tried" has a very high idf, while each of the component unigrams have very low idf.. I need to come up with a function that can take in document frequencies of an n-gram and all its component (n-k)-grams and return a more meaningful measure of how much this phrase will distinguish the parent document from the rest. If I were dealing with probabilities, I would try interpolation or backoff models.. I am not sure what assumptions/intuitions those models leverage to perform well, and so how well they would do for IDF scores. Anybody has any better ideas?

If you are still following me so far, you probably know that the new Office Document formats are incompatible with IStorage containers. The application I'm trying to update, relied upon the IPersistStorage interface that all Office applications have, and the code as written calls the load method of IPersistStorage to read in a document from IStorage interface.   I am doing a software for a document system. In this system when a user completes a document and want to save it, the document will be uploaded directly to server without the user action. This system uses COM/ActiveX to facilitate user using native editors. Ok, my problem is: suppose I have a file say d:/notepad.txt. Using classical method a user can browse the file and upload it. I can do that with apache commonio and GWT FormPanel and FileUpload. But if I know the filename (d:/notepad.txt), is there any way to upload the file directly to server without the user having to browse the file. I am currently doing this by the ActiveX componenet calling some HttpUpload methods with POST. But that does not maintain session. Thanks
