  • Strange issue with jQueryUI and .htaccess RewriteRule

    I have the following rule in my .htaccess which redirects any requests for /labs/... to /projects/...: RewriteRule ^labs/(.+)$ projects/$1 [L] Where projects is a local folder on my web server. I'm using jQueryUI on a page in a subfolder of projects, say projects/project1/index.php. When I hit http://mydomain.com/projects/project1/ everything is fine. However if I hit http://mydomain.com/labs/project1/ almost everything is fine, except that I get the following warning in my JS console: Resource interpreted as image but transferred with MIME type text/html. ui-bg_highlight-soft_60_4ca20b_1x100.png And my jQueryUI button loses its glossy look. I don't even know where to begin to try to solve this. But if anyone has any suggestions I'd greatly appreciate it.

Both examples below works well when the parent is from the same domain but not in cross domain scenario: parent.window.frames['iframe1'].SomeFunction(args); or parent.document.getElementById('iframe1').contentWindow.SomeFunction(args); Is there any way to do it?

  • IIS 7 problem which does not occur under apache

    I'm hosting a little site using a JavaScript to draw a simple graph. It involves one html index file, some css and some js files. It has all been working perfectly on two different apache servers, but when I set up IIS 7 the ajax calls fail. I get no java debug errors in firefox that I can work with, or any kind of error message at all. Without going into the code itself, does anyone have a similar experience with IIS? This is the first time I'm using IIS so I'm not quite sure what to expect to have trouble with. I'd love some input on this, if I have to delve into the code itself I'll make a new thread, I just thought I'd see if this could be a typical issue. Any help is appreciated!

    Hi All, I am making a small form for a php app and had a question regarding javascript validation. What is the best event to run the javascript validation on the input value? Is it the "focusout" event? I used "focusout" to originally but it creates problems when the user hits enter while they are still focused on any particular field in the form. Should I run the js validation when the user clicks submit? Just looking for some advice. Thanks! Chuck

If CSS class is assigning CSS to element can't we read its value in JS ? Does this mean that if we are not assigning property directly to the element we cant get it if in case its inheriting it ?

    I am using jQuery Autocomplete on my jQUeryMobile application. It works perfect. Now I'm trying to use iScroll.js to scroll through the list of looked up items. Here is what I'am doing, http://jsfiddle.net/uXbKY/39/ The problem is, iscroll is applying only for the first item of the suggestion box, where as I'm not able to scroll through entire list.Please help me if I'm missing anything in my code.Please help me to acheive this using iScoll. I found one more way that we can use custom touch based scrollbar for autocomplete box http://jsfiddle.net/uXbKY/2/ but there is a issue that, the custom scrollbar appears only for first search and it disappears from the suggastion box when list get refreshed, Please suggest me if we can fix this, because both options are fine for me for using my autocomplete in ipad and android. or if anyone thinks there's a better way to do this than with iScroll and jScrollPane, you are wel-come I'm open to suggestions.     Hi, I'm trying to create a form that sends the customer's name and email address to icontact (an email list application). All the values are correct for icontact and if I submit the form as usual, icontact responds that it added the email address. The success message loads in a new page from icontact's website. What I'd like to accomplish is that ajax would send the form and returns a success message within the current page, without sending the customer to a new page.   • How do I bind the Overlay Tool for new Ajax elements in Jquery?

    Hi, I'm using: echo $javascript->link('tools.overlay-1.0.4', false); which is initialized with: $(".overlay_popup").overlay({ expose: '#000000', close: '.close_overlay', finish: { top: 'center', left: 'center', absolute: false } }); I call the overlay popup box like this: echo $html->link( "add part", array('controller'=>'garage_parts', 'action'=>'addfrompartlist', $gcar['GarageCar']['id'], $gcar['GarageCar']['car_id']), array('class'=>'js-ajax overlay_popup', 'id'=>'add_part_overlay', 'rel'=>'.overlay_container') ); This all works fine and dandy, however I have an ajax function that dynamically adds the "add part" hyperlink button shown above and I have no idea how to bind this new button to the overlay. Normally, I would use something like this: $(".overlay_popup").bind("click", function(){... but this didn't work for the overlay. Any ideas on how I can successfully do this?

  • Dynamic path in new.AjaxRequest with Rails

    Hello, I was wondering if there's anyway to get a 'dynamic path' into a .js file through Ruby on Rails. For example, I have the following: new Ajax.Request('/tokens/destroy/' + GRID_ID, {asynchronous:true, evalScripts:true, onComplete:function(request){load('26', 'table1', request.responseText)}, parameters:'token=' + dsrc.id + '&authenticity_token=' + encodeURIComponent(AUTH_TOKEN)}) The main URL is '/tokens/destroy/:id', however on my production server this app runs as a sub folder. So the URL for this ajax call needs to be '/qrpsdrail/tokens/destroy/:id' The URL this is being called from would be /grids/1 or /qrpsdrail/grids/1 I could, of course, do ../../path -- but that seems a bit hackish. It is also dependent on the routing never changing, which at this stage I can't guarantee. I'm just interested in seeing what other solutions there might be to this problem. Thanks in advance :)

    Hi, heres the problem explanation: Im on the domain https://www.example.com - theres an Order-Form with the Action https://www.example-otherdomain.com with an other SSL Certificate. On some conditions i set the form action to https://www.example.com so that it will be posted on our domain, but if the user uses a CreditCart it should get posted to https://www.example-otherdomain.com. So far so good. But in some rare conditions, users with CreditCards still posts their form to https://www.example.com. So my idea is: Is there some Same-Domain-Policy for Javascript/HTTPS to protect the user from phishing? It seems that to set the FormAction to the same domain works, but not to reset it to the external one (with JS). I cant reproduce this error, so im asking here if someone knows if theres such a problem. It doesnt matter which UserAgent the user has (there are post datas from FF, Chrome, Webkit, IE7/8) Thx!

    Hi everyone. What i basically want to do is to get content from a website and load it into a div of another website. This should be no problem so far. The problem is, that the content that should be fetched is located on a different server and i have no source access to it. I'd prefer a solution using JavaScript of jQuery. Can i use a .htacces redirect to fetch the content from a remote server with client-side (js) techniques? I will also go with other solutions though. Thanks a lot in advance!

    RegEx is powerful - it is tru but I have a little - query for you I want to parse out the FUNCTIONS from some old code in JS...however - I am RegEx handicapped (mentally deficient in grasping the subtleties).. the issue that makes me NOT EVEN TRY - is two fold - 1) myVar = function(x){ yadda yadda } AND function myVar(x) { yadda yadda } are found throuout - COLD I write a parser for each? sure - but that seems inefficient... 2) MANY things may reside INSIDE the {} including OTHER sets of {} or other Functions(){} block of text... HELP - does anyone have, or know of some code parsing snippets or examples that will parse out the info I want to collect? Thanks

    Hello, I am posting this question as I couldn't find the answer (which is probably very easy, but apparently not for me) anywhere.. I am new to FreshBooks (no only the API) and I want to use it for some automatically generated invoices. I was trying to run some of the source code examples (the PHP and JS libraries in particular): http://developers.freshbooks.com/api/samplecode/ The problem is that I get an error message: "Connection error" Do I need to set up anything else in the example files besides my API and token obtained from the FreshBooks site?   • Javascript eval limits

    Is there a limit to javascript's eval, like in lenght? I'm trying to build an app where you can store JS code in the DB, which you can later load and eval in order to execute it, but i'm reaching a limit. First of all, the code has to all be in one line. Any multiline statements are not executed. Next, i'm reaching a limit in length (i guess). If i execute the code manually, it works, but put that same code in the db, load it via ajax, and try to execute it, and it fails. Any ideas why?

    I have a strange problem that probably have a really simple explanation that i've just havn't found. I'm making a WordPress plugin and i want to use jQuery in my settings-page for the plugin. My JS functions look like this: jQuery(document).ready(function() { alert('load test'); //ADMIN FUNCTION $('#mrc_imp_img').click(function(){ alert("test"); }); //FRONT END FUNCTION $("ul.mrc li").hover(function() { $(this).find('p').fadeIn(); } , function() { $(this).find('p').fadeOut(); }); }); The "load test"-alert is being loaded when the document is ready so jquery is properly loaded. The front end function is being used on pages and that's working fine to. the problem is the admin function, it's not working at all. is there a speial way i have to write a .click()-function to get it to work on my settings-page for the wordpress plugin?

  • Wordpress htaccess in root overriding htaccess in subdomain. Subdomain app not working now.

    Hello, We have a WP install in the root of our server and its running great.. but, we just installed another app in a subdomain. Now, I can view the index.php of that app but cannot do anything with it.. the htaccess rules in the root (from WP base install) are effecting the requests. So, how to I eliminate the WP htaccess file from effecting the subdomain?
