• Using Google Map Headers (YM4R) on Heroku

  I have the following at the top of my view: <%= GMap.header %> Heroku is giving me an ActionView::TemplateError on that line.... this works on my own machine but not on Heroku.... why is that? Is there something about Heroku that doesn't allow? • Browser not handling exception from AJAX panel, ASP.NET c#

  Hi, i am having trouble catching errors in an AJAX panel. Even when i throw an exception in the c# code behind the front end completely ignores it. Here is the code i have setup, can anyone see why? I ideally want to show a js alert window on error. • jQuery show/hide for FAQ using the next() function

  Maybe it's because it's Friday but I'm stuck on a simple problem. I'm building a FAQ page where a user clicks on a question, revealing the answer beneath it. I'm trying to get the next() function to just grab the next instance of an "answer" div but, despite not getting any JS errors, the hidden div isn't showing.   I'm writing a web app that will use twitter as its primary log on method. I've written code which gets the oauth token back from Twitter. My plan is now to Find the entry in my Users table for the twitter username retreived using the token, or create the entry if necessary Update the Users.TwitterOAuthToken column with the new OAuth token Create a permanent cookie with a random guid on the site and insert a record into my UserCookies table matching Cookie to User when a request comes in I will look for the browser cookie id in the UserCookies table, then use that to figure out the user, and make twitter requests on their behalf Write the oauth token into some pages as a js variable so that javascript can make requests on behalf of the user If the user clears his/her cookies the user will have to log in again to twitter Is this the correct process? Have I created any massive security holes? thanks!

  I have to select web link when i mouse hover to particular frame in the webpage, the button(link to next page) will be visible. I know this can be handled by JS. But i want to find out is there any solution within selenium webdriver Your help is much appreciated... Thanks Madan

• Making a web interface for neo4j

  I have a local neo4j database server and I want to build a web interface using javascript. Ideally I want to do all the querying and display the result client side for the website. I am mostly a Java programmer and unfortunately don't have much experience with Javascript. How can I do a cypher query from the website and return the result in a format which I can display easily in a table for example? I have seen examples of doing the querying server side with servlets or node.js but really would like to just have the neo4j server and the website client. I would be interesting in seeing a small working example if it is at all possible. Thanks for your time.

• Detecting support for a given JavaScript event?

  I'm interested in using the JavaScript hashchange event to monitor changes in the URL's fragment identifier. I'm aware of Really Simple History and the jQuery plugins for this. However, I've reached the conclusion that in my particular project it's not really worth the added overhead of another JS file. What I would like to do instead is take the "progressive enhancement" route. That is, I want to test whether the hashchange event is supported by the visitor's browser, and write my code to use it if it's available, as an enhancement rather than a core feature. IE 8, Firefox 3.6, and Chrome 4.1.249 support it, and that accounts for about 20% of my site's traffic. So, uh ... is there some way to test whether a browser supports a particular event? Thanks.

  I'm using this function to create an transparent overlay of information over the current div for a web-based mobile app. Background: using jQTouch, so I have separate divs, not individual pages loading new. $(document).ready(function() { $('.infoBtn').click(function() { $('#overlay').toggleFade(400); return false; }); }); Understanding that JS will run sequentially when i click the button on the first div the function works fine. When I go to the next div if I click the same button nothing "happens" when this div is displayed, but if i go back to the first div it has actually triggered it on this page. So I logically duplicated the function and changed the CSS selector names and it works for both. But do I have to do this for each use? Is there a way to use the same selectors, but load the different content in each variation?

• Slide through view controllers but not with the UISwipeGestureRecognizer

  Here is my issue, i got 5 view controllers and i can switch between them trough swipe with the UISwipeGestureRecognizer class and xcode's storyboard. So this works, but, i dont like the slide effect. I like to make it in a way so you can exactly slide the view to another by dragging it. • how to exchange variables between extern iframe and site

  hey guys, for developement reasons (working with facebook-connect) i put the connect iframe in an iframe. on that way i am able to work on the connect-thing independent of my ip and don't have to develop on the live-server. the iframe holding the connect-button iframe is on my server, accessing the same db-server as the developer version (developer version is running on localhsot). as far as good ... BUT how can i let the parent site know, that the user has connected, so that i get his profile-picture displayd as reaction to this? how can i react in generally on an action/event/JS in an iframe? is there a way? can the iframe post data to the parent site? like a time-stamp and fb_userid? if the iframe stuff doesn't work ... i thougt of saving the ip to the fb_userid (to db) and check matches ... but i don't like this idea.

• CSS problem on HTTPS pages (IE8 toolbar BHO)

  I am developing an IE8 toolbar in C#. The toolbar has a button which when clicked adds some user defined content to the page. I am using a BHO to add the required HTML, CSS & JS to the page. Things are fine with "http" pages. But, when a "https" page is loaded, user keeps getting the IE warning "Do you want to view only the webpage content that was delivered securely?....". I traced the problem to some css rules, where I am using local png files which are already installed on the user's machine. Is there any way by which I can access the png files on the local machine without getting the IE8 warning?

  Is there any safe way to detect, on a web page, client side (JS), whether user has an Google/Yahoo/Live/? account? I know about some suspicious ways to do this by styling visited links and then sneaking on computed style attribute, but it's more of a hack, Mozilla and maybe other are planning to crack down on this, as it might be abused. But I need this to allow users more integration with their identity providers, like: Have a Google account? ~ load contacts for sharing from Google Contacts API Have an Yahoo account? ~ load contacts for sharing from Yahoo Contacts API none of the above? show no link I don't want to provide all these options to all visitors, would be nice if I can detect the account, and provide integration only in that case.

  Hello im developing some backends in ASP.NET 2.0 and i have put all the images in Cache, GZIPED my CSS, JS files and everything to speedup the load of each options. the performance its good and i have no problems with the clients but i want "MORE" fast loads and im looking for some recomendations. Is important to mention that those websites are using only in intranets so im thinking to implement my next projects using IFRAME for content that way (i think) the options will be loading faster because they not have to load the entire site. any help / recomendations? thanks in advance.

• 'Best' way to pull data relative to a div?

  This answer suggested i should put my data in JS instead of a textarea. Thinking about it i could have scripts and do something like myarray[i]="data" where i is the index of my for loop. However when i click a div how do i find out what i is? I have used var data = $(this).parent('.parent').find('.valuestr').eq(0).val(); which is extremely simple. Should i use a script or should i continue to do it with a textarea? if i should use a script 1) Whats the easiest way to find i and 2) Is it bad pratice to have dozens or hundreds of <script> in my html? or i can go through the loop twice but i still dont know the easiest way to find i. I would have to store it somewhere or go through multiple tags and count them.
