jquery image fading with tabs

Hey all, i am trying my best to figure out how to go about doing this: I have 2 tabs. When the page loads tab1 is selected automatically. This shows the tab as 1.0 transparency while tab2 stays at 0.7. Once the user clicks on tab2, tab1 goes to 0.7 transparency and tab2 goes to 1.0. However, i can not seem to get it to do that! MXML composite container initialization error

Building a TriggerField with PopUp Window

Hi! I built a triggerField and when i press at it, i want to have a popup, that is appended to the button in the triggerfield(so when i click anywhere else it shall disappear and it shall pop out up to the button when i click at the button just like a datepicker-popup) I somehow managed to do something like that with an Ext.window but the offset and postion doesnt match. jquery - problem with executing annimation of two separate objects, one after another

Hello I have problem to put together animations of two separate objects to second one start when first one ends. I tried to use callback but it seems that i make some syntax misteakes which crash jQuery or cause some unexpected behaviour. It seems that i'm stuck so I'd like to ask You for best way to put these animations together to act the way I want. in mouseenter 1st .pp grows, 2nd .tt fade in in mouseleave 1st .tt fade out, 2nd .pp shrink It's alsp relevant that animations doesn't pile up, i mean here animation called by one event doesnt wait until other animation in progress will end. Animated transitions in WPF

I can't figure out what I'm missing here. Here's the problem: Consider a (Control|Data)Template with a Trigger that switches visibility of some inner UI elements. E.g. show a TextBlock when IsReadOnly==true and show a TextBox when IsReadOnly==false. Everything is perfect if you do this without animation - one or two setters would do the job. But what if you want a fancy animation? Then you would specify which animations to start in EnterActions and ExitActions. But the problem is what exactly the animations should do? Modifying width/height seems really ugly, because fixed sizes in WPF are almost always a wrong way to go and also it's absolutely unflexible. So far, the best I've come up with is modifying MaxHeight/MaxWidth to some extent, this gives just a little more flexibility but still seems brutal. How do you tell WPF to animate Width/Height of an element from 0 to "as much as needed"? UPD: Currently I do animate Opacity and RenderTransform, and it works. It's just that sometimes I'd like to see animations where elements slide around without transformation. This is not a critical question, but a quite interesting one for me.

Strange layout behaviour

I am a little bit confused. Here is an small web page. There are two main div-s: top and mainBlock. First contain image. The problem is that firebug shows that div#top's height is equal to 0 and because of that the next div mainBlock moves up. If I would delete this peace of code: div#logo{ float: left; } everything will start working fine and div#mainBlock will be below the div#top. Could you, please, explain me how it works and how to avoid this in proper way? Two column layout, navigation div on the right, solution from previous thread didn't seem to work

Edit: The goal is to have a fix sized navigation column on the right of the browser window and the left div should get all the space left by the right navigation column (liquid layout).

My problem is that when i try to opne video with quicktime on iphone, this give me a message "this movie format is not supported". How do I get the WVGA Android browser to stop scaling my images?

I'm designing an HTML page for display in Android browsers. Consider this simple example page: <html> <head><title>Simple!</title> </head> <body> <p><img src="http://sstatic.net/so/img/logo.png"></p> </body> </html> It looks just fine on the standard HVGA phones (320x480), but on HDPI WVGA sizes (480x800 or 480x854) the built-in browser automatically scales the image up; it looks ugly. I've read that I should be able to use this tag to force the browser to stop scaling my page: <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width; initial-scale=1.0; maximum-scale=1.0; minimum-scale=1.0; user-scalable=0;" /> ... but all that does is disable user scaling (the zoom buttons disappear); it doesn't actually prevent the browser from scaling my image. Adjusting the scale factors (setting them all to 2.0 or 0.5) has no effect at all. How can I force the WVGA browser to stop scaling my images?

Browser performance when combining image resizing with animated movement

I have been tasked with the job of converting a Flash animation into HTML. The animation is rather complex and requires the need to move multiple images (9) from location (x,y) to location (x2,y2) while simultaneously increasing the image size from 215px wide to 930px wide. While doing some initial testing of this animation with just 1-2 images, I noticed a lot of choppiness in FF handling of this animation. To try and isolate the problem, I removed the dynamic resizing of the animation and just moved it from point A to point B. What was interesting was that I saw the same behavior when simply moving a 930px image that was resized down to 215px (via the CSS width or inline width properties). When I try the same animation with a different image that is actually 215px wide, it performed smoothly. I then tried the same animation with the original 930px wide image (with no resizing) and it performed well also. This makes me wonder if the browser is having to "resize" the image down to 215px each time it is moved which is causing the choppiness. Is this a correct assumption? If so, is there any other way to optimize the animation to allow for simultaneous image resizing and image movement? Notes: 1) One optimization I have done is to position the images absolutely in order to minimize the reflow process. 2) I have tested the animation using both jQuery and the fX animation framework.

CSS being ignored in IE & FFox but not Chrome

Hi, i am styling a navigation menu using the following css. I have found that it works perfectly in chrome but absolutely none of the css is beign applied in firefox or IE. Trouble with custom WPF Panel-derived class

I'm trying to write a custom Panel class for WPF, by overriding MeasureOverride and ArrangeOverride but, while it's mostly working I'm experiencing one strange problem I can't explain. In particular, after I call Arrange on my child items in ArrangeOverride after figuring out what their sizes should be, they aren't sizing to the size I give to them, and appear to be sizing to the size passed to their Measure method inside MeasureOverride. Am I missing something in how this system is supposed to work? My understanding is that calling Measure simply causes the child to evaluate its DesiredSize based on the supplied availableSize, and shouldn't affect its actual final size. ExtJS 4 Chart Axis Display Issue in Chrome

I've run into an issue while using ExtJS 4.0.7. I'm trying to display a chart with two series on a Numeric/Category Chart. The chart displays correctly in Firefox, but while using Chrome (18.0.1025.142) the x axis labels are either all stacked upon each or else (when using rotate) rendered behind the chart in the specified angle. Any ideas would be appreciated. Binding a Button to a GridView

This a pretty simple question, I'm just not sure how to do it exactly. I would like to bind a Button or perhaps ImageButton to a GridView in ASP.NET/C#. Currently, the GridView has two columns and is bound to a DataTable with two columns. I want to add a third column to the GridView, which will include the Button. I know GridView has ButtonField, but I'm not too sure how to go about using it to do what I want. I want to dynamically generate these Buttons and add them to the GridView. jQuery toggling div visibility

I have jQuery setup like so: $('.control').click(function(){ var master = $(this).parent().parent(); var first_div = $(master).find(".first-div"); var second_div = $(master).find(".second-div"); $(first_div).toggleClass("hidden") $(second_div).toggleClass("hidden") }); This setup toggles the visibility of the divs, click the control button it hides one div and show the other. However this just hides and shows each div in a flash. I am looking to add some animation to the transitioning of the divs, maybe have one slide up and the other slide down when the 'control' is clicked and vice versa but I am unable to achieve this. Could anyone help out and give some advice on how to do this? Cheer Eef

Black outline around map polygons (IE)

Overflow in table cells

I need to create a chat layout that uses all the available space and scales nicely, but has few fixed sizes. Here's the structure: <table style="width: 100%; height: 100%"> <tr> <td></td> <td style="width: 200px; background: red;"></td> </tr> <tr> <td style="height: 100px; background: blue"></td> <td></td> </tr> </table> However, I want to place a lot of content in the first table cell and I want it to scroll, so it won't expand the table. Is it possible to make it overflow properly, without having a fixed height for the cell? Simply adding overflow: auto doesn't seem to work. PS. I hate tables, but can't figure out a very clean and cross-browser way to do a layout like this with divs and css. If someone can come up with one, I'll gladly use it.

How do you detect when the Flowplayer has started playing the video?

Hi. I'm using the Flowplayer Flash video player to play MP4 videos inside an AnythingSlider. I need to detect when the user has clicked the start button on the video so to stop the slideshow and allow the user to view the video. I've tried using this code just to get an alert box but it doesn't do anything (the code is at the end of the page, before the closing </body> tag): <script type="text/javascript"> $f("player","global/js/flowplayer/flowplayer-3.1.5.swf",{ onStart: function(clip) { alert('player started'); } }); </script> The Flowplayer is implemented as part of the html5media library, which automatically detects whether the browser can handle the <video> tag; if not, it replaces the anchor tag below with the Flowplayer: <video id="vid" width="372" height="209" poster="global/vid/bbq-poster.jpg" controls preload> <source id="videoSource" src="global/vid/BBQ_Festival.mp4" type='video/mp4; codecs="avc1.42E01E, mp4a.40.2"' onerror="fallback(this.parentNode)" ></source> <a href="global/vid/BBQ_Festival.mp4" style="display:block;width:372px;height:209px; padding-left:5px; " id="player"> </a> </video> So the $f() function call is in a JavaScript block at the end of the page, to give the player a chance to load correctly. Set form MinWidth and MinHeight based on child property

I'm writing an application in WPF using the MVVM pattern. In my application I've got an IPopupWindowService which I use to create a popup dialog window. So to show a ViewModel in a popup window you'd do something like this: var container = ServiceLocator.Current.GetInstance<IUnityContainer>(); var popupService = container.Resolve<IPopupWindowService>(); var myViewModel = container.Resolve<IMyViewModel>(); popupService.Show((ViewModelBase)myViewModel); This is all well and good. What I want to do is be able to set the MinHeight and MinWidth on the View bound to myViewModel and have the popup window use those settings so that a user cannot make the window smaller than its contents will allow. At the moment when the user shrinks the window the contents stops resizing but the window doesn't. Borderless ImageButtons in WrapPanel

I am attempting to create a WrapPanel with seamless ImageButtons containing Artwork. I put together the following ContentTemplate in the hopes that it would provide the seamless look required; however a thin white-line remained around each of the buttons. Div on top of Div using z-index.

I have the following divs in my HTML: <div class="main"> <div class="bgimage"></div> <div class="content">Text</div> which is directly inside my body. With the following CSS: .content{filter:alpha(opacity=50);-moz-opacity: 0.5;opacity: 0.5;} .content{position:relative;z-index:1;border:#000 thin solid;width:960px;margin-left:auto;margin-right:auto;background-color:#000;} .bgimage{position:absolute;z-index:-1;width:1024px;height:768px;margin-left:auto;margin-right:auto;background-image:url(bg1.jpg);} Basically, I have a Div that with a display of a background image, and I will have another Div on top of this with transparency. This current code works, but my problem is when I am trying to take the content div down from the top. When I add margin-top:100px, for example, is also brings the image down. I thought it would not touch it if it is not on the same z-index? Why does adding a margin also force the bgimage div down? I have also tried making the div with class of content a position of absolute and a zindex, but then this won't centre. How should I solve this?
