  I am the only administrator on my Window's 7 Asus x53E series laptop. Why is a standard user able to access my files by just searching my name in the start menu? If I log into guest account and search my name it shows an error that i don't have permission. When i log into my roommate's standard account and go to the start menu I put my name in search and everything I have done or searched is open to them . How can i make my administrator account private

  Firefox's "awesome bar" searches history including the titles of pages incrementally. How can I get chrome to also search the titles in history ? For example, for this very page,in Firefox, I can search "Firefox Lik" and this page's address shows up in Firefox but not in Chrome Is there any Chrome extension that can do this ?

  In bash the ctrl-r command is very useful, I type ctrl-r whatever and it searchs my history for commands containing the word whatever. But if I type whatever and realize that I would like search that word and hit ctrl-r nothing happens. Is there a way hitting a key and having it behaving as if I had typed ctrl-r whatever instead of whatever ctrl-r? I have the following in my .inputrc "\C-p": history-search-backward but this only works if the beginning of the line is the same.

• Override my ISP's "domain not found" page?

  If I screw up typing a URL, my ISP shoots me over to their branded search page. So if I type "superuser" in my location bar I end up at http://domainnotfound.optimum.net/cablevassist/dnsassist/main/?domain=superuser I'd like my browser to leave the location the way it was and just say "nothing doing," rather than redirecting me to a search. Can I override that in my own /etc/hosts or at my router?

  Hello, I am developing a Silverlight client using the provided navigation template for an imageboard I developed. I have a "search" tab which lists all searches for tags which were executed. I also have a show post tab which shows (also in tab-form) posts, opened from the search tab. When I open a post from the search page, it instanciates a new control (of type UserControl) and inserts this into the ShowPost page's tabcontrol. When I switch (or get switched) to the Show Post view the layout is all messed up. The UserControl inside the tab does not stretch in the tab. When I switch tabs back and forth this is strangely fixed. The reason seems to be that the user control gets created there but has no layout to "fit to" until said layout is opened, which is too late then. • MKMapView - viewForAnnotation not called while loading more results

  I have a search enabled map view. When user hits search, my custom annotations are added to the map view. The search returns 20 results with a 'load more' link. When I hit load more, more annotations should be added to map view. The problem is - annotations gets added to the map view but is not displayed on the map. If I zoom in or zoom out to change the map region, the pins are shown. I find that viewForAnnotations: is not getting called when i hit 'load more'. I am not sure how to trigger this. any one?

  Hi There, I'm writing for iphone OS 3.1.3. I want the search button in the keyboard from my UISearchBar to have the search button enabled all the time. If this was any old UITextField (not a search bar) the property would be enablesReturnKeyAutomatically.   I want to make a function that converts mixed numbers and fractions (as strings) to floats. Here's some examples: '1 1/2' -> 1.5 '11/2' -> 5.5 '7/8' -> 0.875 '3' -> 3 '7.7' -> 7.7 I'm currently using this function, but I think it could be improved.   Hi, I'm trying to follow Marcus Zarra in his book 'Core Data'. In the book, he makes a small sample application, but it doesn't give much help when things don't work out... He starts out by visually designing three entities, and then adding array controllers for each entity to the main nib. Second, he adds a tableview and some other visual components to show data from the array controllers. So far, I have managed to follow, but now he adds a search field to the gui, and binds it to the same array controller as one of the tableviews. Expected behavior would be for the tableview to get filtered when typing in the search field, but nothing happens. How do I find out what's wrong? The relevant parts from the nib is as follow: NSArrayController Recipes - Mode = Entity - Enitity Name = Recipe TableView w/TableColumn - Value Bind To Recipes -- Controller Key = arrangedObjects -- Model Key Path = name Search Field - Predicate Bind To Recipes -- Controller Key = filterPredicate -- Model Key Path = name -- Display name = predicate -- Predicate Format = keyPath contains $value There are no relevant messages in the console. regards, -Vegar

  Suppose I was given by some URL. Is might already have GET parameters (e.g. http://stackoverflow.com/search?q=question) or not (e.g. http://stackoverflow.com/). And now I need to add some parameters to it like {'lang':'en','tag':'python'} so in first case I'll have http://stackoverflow.com/search?q=question&lang=en&tag=python and in second — http://stackoverflow.com/search?lang=en&tag=python. Is there any standard way to do this?

  Hi, I'm working on a project for my A level. It involves finding the maximum flow of a network, and I'm using javascript. I have a 2D array, with values in the array representing a distance between the two points. An example of the array: 0 2 2 0 0 0 1 2 0 0 0 2 0 0 0 0 I think I need to use a recursive technique to find a path; below is some pseudocode, assuming that the array is 4x4. a is (0,0), b is (3,3). function search(a,b) from a to b if element(i,j) != 0 then store value of element search(j,3) I was wondering if that was the right construction for a depth first search.   I'm currently using jqGrid to display data. Part of jqGrid's interface will give you search options, posting back the search details in a JSON string, for example: {"groupOp":"AND","rules":[{"field":"PersonID","op":"eq","data":"123"},{"field":"LastName","op":"eq","data":"Smith"}]} (meaning i'm searching for personID = 123, and LastName = 'Smith') so what i'm hoping to do is somehow convert that back into something i can use server-side. Does anyone have a solution for this that may convert it back into an object of some kind? My current solution would be to convert into xml, parse with linq and create instances of my own 'search' class with a 'rules' collection.

• ASP.NET: images broken when combining URL Rewriting, asp:ImageButton and html base tag

  Hi, I'm using URL Rewriting under ASP.NET 4 (using ISAPI_Rewrite) and I'm finding that that some of my images are not loading as .NET does not seem to understand I'm using an html BASE tag (pretty standard and essential when doing URL Rewriting): eg in my development environment I have: <base href='http://localhost/venuefinder/Website/'></base> and on my pages I have: <asp:ImageButton runat="server" ImageUrl="~/images/button.gif" /> On the home page of the site (http://localhost/venuefinder/Website/) this works fine, however on a page that uses URL rewriting, the image does not work: /venuefinder/Website/venues/ashton_gate_stadium/V18639/ ..as the browser is trying to load: http://localhost/images/buttons/search-button.gif instead of: http://localhost/venuefinder/Website/venues/images/buttons/search-button.gif This is happening because .NET is rendering the button as: src="../../../images/buttons/search-button.gif" ...which is incorrect. Is there any way I can correct this problem so that .NET renders the correct src attribute for the image? (without all the ../../../ etc)

• Grails easygrid plugin, Datatable implementation

  I'm playing with the datatable implementation in the Easygrid plugin and I have to say i love it but I have a question . If i use datatable directly (ie outside of Easygrid) to decorate a table i get a global search box defined above my table . If i use the Easygrid implementation and define my grid in a controller I get filters added for each column but no search box - it is added but then removed somehow either by easygrid itself or some parameter passed to datatable . How can I restore the search box and is this a bug as i would have thought the default implementation of datatable supplied via easygrid should match the default implementation supplied by the vanilla datatable itself? I'm using Grails 2.3.7 and Easygrid 1.6.2 .. Thanks

  Hi there. I am performing an LDAP search query in C like so; ldap_search_ext_s(ld, BASEDN, SCOPE, FILTER, attrs, 0, NULL, NULL, NULL, LDAP_NO_LIMIT, &res); My search performs fine except when I try to specify FILTER to be; #define FILTER "uid=*", that is, when I try to run a search for all LDAP entries with a uid. Unfortunately my code just returns the first entry for each result that it finds. So, my code might find 50 results, but will return the first entry 50 times. Can anyone suspect what I might be doing wrong here? EDIT: I am stepping through my results like so: for (msg = ldap_first_message(ld, res); msg != NULL; msg = ldap_next_message(ld, msg)) Any help is really appreciated. Ricky.

• UISearchDisplayController changing row height

  I've set my UITableView row height to in Interface Builder to 54.0. I have a UISearchDisplayController on that view. When the user taps the search bar in it, the table resizes properly. However, when they start typing (and actually doing the search) the row height decreases. It stays wrong until the search taps Cancel. I could find no documentation on this behavior on Apple's site. I've tried setting the row height in UISearchDisplayDelegate delegate calls. This might be the right approach, but I don't know the details and couldn't get it ti work. I've also tried implementing -- (CGFloat)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView -heightForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath;. This worked, but I have thousands of entries in this list and can't take the performance hit. What's the right way to fix this?
