  Folks, I have just joined this company which has a huge source tree based upon JSP/Servlet and EJB 1.2. No documentation exists. The code has been written over seven years, with a large number of undocumented changes. Are there any tool tah can assist me in tracing the execution? Putting a breakpoint is not helping me much.

  Is there any java libraries that is similar to unix's command file? ie: $ file somepicture.png somepicture.png PNG image, 805 x 292, 8-bit/color RGB, non-interlaced The file command is such a nice tool. I need something that can tell me if the file is really what I want it to be. (ie a picture, document etc) I know I can run the command file, but I am looking for a java library, not running the actual unix command.

  When looking at the log of a folder in Tortoise SVN, you can filter out files which aren't in the folder. The checkbox says: "Hide unrelated changed paths".   Is it possible to create a small program that will run, without recompiling and without emulators, on both Windows CE 6 AND Windows XP SP3? From my knowledge, this isn't possible. Source code needs to be recompiled for the target platform. However, a hardware manufacturer for embedded boards is claiming otherwise. The application isn't anything complex, just a simple benchmarking tool analysing floating point operations, CPU ticks etc, and displaying the results on a plain GUI.
