  Typically, if I want to pass an object to an instance of something I would do it like so... Listing 1 File 1: public class SomeClass { // Some Properties public SomeClass() { public int ID { get { return mID; } set { mID = value; } } public string Name { set { mName = value; } get { return mName; } } } } public class SomeOtherClass { // Method 1 private void Method1(int one, int two) { SomeClass USER; // Create an instance Squid RsP = new Squid(); RsP.sqdReadUserConf(USER); // Able to pass 'USER' to class method in different file. } } In this example, I was not able to use the above approach. Probably because the above example passes an object between classes. Whereas, below, things are defined in a single class. I had to use some extra steps (trial & error) to get things to work. I am not sure what I did here or what its called. Is it good programming practice? Or is there is an easier way to do this (like above). I'm learing LINQ-to-SQL right now and i have wrote a simple application that define SQL data: [Table( Name = "items" )] public class Item { [ Column( IsPrimaryKey = true, IsDbGenerated = true ) ] public int Id; [ Column ] public string Name; } I have launched 2 copy of application connected to the same .sdf file and tested if all database modifications in one application affects another application. But strange thing arise. If i use InsertOnSubmit() and DeleteOnSubmit() in one application, added/removed items are instantly visible in other application via 'select' LINQ queue. But if i try to modify 'Name' field in one application, it is NOT visible in other applicaton until it reconnects the database :(. The test code i use: var Items = from c in db.Items where Id == c.Id select c; foreach( var Item in Items ) { Item.Name = "new name"; break; } db.SubmitChanges(); Can anyone suggest what i'm doing wrong and why InsertOnSubmit()/DeleteOnSubmit works and SubmitChanges() don't?

• EXT JS toLayout on Viewport doesnt show anything...

  After reading many example about adding new components in to existing container without reloading whole page I run in to small problem while combining tree and tabs inside Viewport component. What I'm trying to do is to register on click event to tree node and load in to content container new component, depending on node type it can be tabpanel, gridpanel or any other available component. here is short example of tree object: { xtype: 'treepanel', id: 'tree-panel', listeners: { click: function(n) { var content = Ext.getCmp('content-panel'); content.setTitle(n.attributes.qtip); //remove all components from content-panel content.removeAll(); content.add(dummy_tabs2); content.doLayout(); return; } }} All DOM manipulation went fine, everything registered properly, new Title shown, but dummy_tabs2 are not shown. I did try to set various properties for doLayout(true|false, true|false) but nothing happens. Am I doing something wrong?

• Embedded QGraphicsView do not hide after Dialog closes

  I call a QDialog in to modes, showNormal and showFullscreen. In normal mode all works fine. With a Keyevent the Dialog closes as expected. In Fullscreen, after a keyevent the Dialog closes, but the QGraphicsView will stay on top. • Openlayers - LayerRedraw() / Feature rotation

  TLDR: I have an Openlayers map with a layer called 'track' I want to remove track and add track back in. I have an image 'imageFeature' on a layer that rotates on load to the direction being set. I want it to update this rotation that is set in 'styleMap' on a layer called 'tracking'. I set the var 'stylemap' to apply the external image & rotation. The 'imageFeature' is added to the layer at the coords specified. 'imageFeature' is removed. 'imageFeature' is added again in its new location. Rotation is not applied.. As the 'styleMap' applies to the layer I think that I have to remove the layer and add it again rather than just the 'imageFeature' Layer: var tracking = new OpenLayers.Layer.GML("Tracking", "coordinates.json", { format: OpenLayers.Format.GeoJSON, styleMap: styleMap }); styleMap: var styleMap = new OpenLayers.StyleMap({ fillOpacity: 1, pointRadius: 10, rotation: heading, }); Now wrapped in a timed function the imageFeature: map.layers[3].addFeatures(new OpenLayers.Feature.Vector( new OpenLayers.Geometry.Point(longitude, latitude), {rotation: heading, type: parseInt(Math.random() * 3)} )); Type refers to a lookup of 1 of 3 images.: styleMap.addUniqueValueRules("default", "type", lookup); var lookup = { 0: {externalGraphic: "Image1.png", rotation: heading}, 1: {externalGraphic: "Image2.png", rotation: heading}, 2: {externalGraphic: "Image3.png", rotation: heading} } I have tried the 'redraw()' function: but it returns "tracking is undefined" or "map.layers[2]" is undefined. tracking.redraw(true); map.layers[2].redraw(true); Heading is a variable: from a JSON feed. var heading = 13.542; But so far can't get anything to work it will only rotate the image onload. The image will move in coordinates as it should though. So what am I doing wrong with the redraw function or how can I get this image to rotate live? But it runs through the style map every n sec, but no updates to rotation and the variable for heading is updating correctly if i put a watch on it in firebug.

• Why is this if statement failing?

  I'm working on an existing class that is two steps derived from System.Windows.Forms.Combo box. The class overrides the Text property thus: public override string Text { get { return this.AccessibilityObject.Value; } set { if (base.Text != value) { base.Text = value; } } } The reason given for that "get" is this MS bug: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/814346 However, I'm more interested in the fact that the "if" doesn't work. There are times where "base.Text != value" is true and yet pressing F10 steps straight to the closing } of the "set" and the Text property is not changed. I've seen this both by just checking values in the debugger, and putting a conditional breakpoint on that only breaks when the "if" statement's predicate is true. How on earth can "if" go wrong? The class between this and ComboBox doesn't touch the Text property. The bug above shouldn't really be affecting anything - it says it's fixed in VS2005. Is the debugger showing different values than the program itself sees?

• Excel data connection - remove header row?

  The excel spreadsheet is connecting to SQL server 2005 using the connection string below: Provider=SQLOLEDB.1;Integrated Security=SSPI;Persist Security Info=True;Initial Catalog=XXXXXX;Data Source=XXXXXX;Extended Properties="HDR=No";Use Procedure for Prepare=1;Auto Translate=True;Packet Size=4096;Workstation ID=XXXXXX;Use Encryption for Data=False;Tag with column collation when possible=False It then pulls data from a view into Excel. The business user wants this information without a header row. This will allow her to review then save as a "headless" csv in SAGE file format. I attempted to alter the connection string by adding HDR=No but that hasn't worked. Additionally, I can't delete the header row. Deleting the content replaces the column names with "Column 1" etc. Any ideas appreciated!

• Focus element inside iframe when iframe attached to Jquery Dialog

  Hi, I have a iFrame which i load into jquery dialog. I want to focus an element inside the iFrame whenever the Jquery Dialog is being opened. • How to use jquery ajax to set the content of a div, then call JS from that div

  I'm using JQuery to load the content of an mvc usercontroll: function menuShowModal(a) { $.ajax( { url: a.href, success: function (result) { $('#modalDialog').dialog('close'); var $dialog = $('<div id=\'modalDialog\'></div>') .html(result) .dialog({ autoOpen: true, title: 'Basic Dialog', modal: true }); }, cache: false, type: 'get' }); return false; } The returned HTML looks like this: <input type="text" id="navnet" value="test" /> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready( function () { alert($("#navnet").val()); } ) </script> The problem is that the alert returns "undefined" and not "test" as it should, in other words the JS is executed before the html is inserted, how do I work around this?

There are two problems here a) the file is somehow corrupt ( it was a document imported into drive, so that failed, but that isn't something I care about for the purposes of this question ) b) The file shows up as existing in some API calls, but calls to read comments with the Drive SDK comments API fail.
