Hi all, I use vb to get data through my form. I have some optional fileds in my form and I have this problem with the following code: MsgBox(myXPathNavigator.SelectSingleNode("/my:Status/my:Questions/my:Questions1", _ Me.NamespaceManager).IsNode.ToString) When the optional filed 'Questions1' is inserted to the form I get the value 'true' by the IsNode function. If the field it is not inserted I have an exception, stating that the reference is not correct (and it is indeed true). Is there a way to verify about a node, whether it is present or not in my form? NHibernate - is property lazy loading possible?

I've got some binary data that I store and was going to separate this out into a separate table so it could be lazy loaded. However, i then came across this post by Ayende (http://ayende.com/Blog/archive/2010/01/27/nhibernate-new-feature-lazy-properties.aspx) which suggests that property lazy loading is now possible. I have added the lazy="true" attribute to my property mapping but the field is still loaded from the database (I am using a simple text field to test). My query: return _session.CreateQuery("from Product") .SetMaxResults(1) .UniqueResult<Product>(); Mapping: <property name="Description" type="string" column="FullDescription" lazy="true"/> Has anyone been able to get this working? Personally I prefer this approach than having to add another table to my database.

Android listview array adapter selected

bundler/capistrano is not installing gems with correct ruby version

I'm trying to deploy my first app on a server with Capistrano, and I'm a bit lost with managing gemsets and ruby version. These are my (server and workstation) versions : Rails 3.2.8 RVM 1.16.17 Gem 1.8.24 Bundler 1.2.1 pg gem 0.14.1 My gemset are : Gemsets for ruby-1.9.3-p194 (found in /usr/local/rvm/gems/ruby-1.9.3-p194) (default) global = rail3dev20120606 I set the default gemset with : rvm use 1.9.3-p194@rail3dev20120606 --default --passenger When I run a : cap bundle:install The task end with success, but when I do a : gem list There are many missing gems though they are present in my Gemfile. When I go to check my gems in /var/www/opf/shared/bundle/ruby/ I find a folder called 1.9.1 and in /var/www/opf/shared/bundle/ruby/1.9.1/gems/ I can fond all of my needed gems (specified in Gemfile). I'm sure there is a problem with ruby version, but how do I solve this ? At the moment, if I do any rake command, I got a ruby crash [Bug] Segmentation fault, as it try to access the db and using postgresql_adapter. I think as many gems are missing there must have some gem dependencies not verified, and maybe a gem is using an incompatible ruby version 1.9.1 though it expect a 1.9.3. I think the issue is around managing ruby versions and gems. I'm certainly doing some mix with gemset and my capistrano deployement. I'm missing experience and info. Could anybody advise me how to handle this on the server ? What are the best practices ? How am I suppose to update my ruby version ? with Capistrano deploy.rb ? manually ? with/without rvm ? I saw a new version of ruby 1.9.3-p327 has just released. Should I use gemset or not ? What about the :rvm_ruby_string in my deploy.rb. Is it correctly spelled or should I remove the p194 part ? Should I Remove the :rvm_ruby_string ? Keep it ? Use a .rvmrc file ??? I'm really lost and some kind help would be welcome. How to update the session values on partial post back and how to make Javascript use the new values

The problem I am facing is the I am passing values to javascript to draw a graph using session values in the code behind. Strange behaviour when posting CGEvent to PSN

If I set up a loop that posts some keyboard events to a PSN, I find that it works fine except for when first launched. The event only seems to post when i do something with the mouse manually - even just moving it slightly. Here's the details, if they help. An external application has a list box of text lines, which I am reading by posting copy commands (and checking the pasteboard). Unfortunately this is my only way to get this text. Sometimes, the application pulls focus away from the list, which I can detect. When this happens, the most reliable way to return focus is by sending a mouse event to click on a text field directly above the list, then send a 'tab' keyboard event to shift the focus onto the list. So at launch, the loop runs fine, scrolling down the list and copying the text. When focus is shifted away, its is detected fine, and the events are sent to move focus back to the list. But nothing seems to happen. The loop continues detecting that focus has changed, but the events only work once I move the mouse. Or even just use the scroll wheel. Strange. Once this has happened the first time, it works fine - each time focus moves, the PSN events switch it back without me having to do anything at all. The Math of a Jump in a 2D game.

I have been all around with this question and I can't find the correct answer! So, behold, the description of my question: I'm working in J2ME, I have my gameloop that do the following: public void run() { Graphics g = this.getGraphics(); while (running) { long diff = System.currentTimeMillis() - lastLoop; lastLoop = System.currentTimeMillis(); input(); this.level.doLogic(); render(g, diff); try { Thread.sleep(10); } catch (InterruptedException e) { stop(e); } } } so it's just a basic gameloop, the doLogic() function calls for all the logic functions of the characters in the scene and render(g, diff) calls the animateChar function of every character on scene, following this, the animChar function in the Character class sets up everything in the screen as this: protected void animChar(long diff) { this.checkGravity(); this.move((int) ((diff * this.dx) / 1000), (int) ((diff * this.dy) / 1000)); if (this.acumFrame > this.framerate) { this.nextFrame(); this.acumFrame = 0; } else { this.acumFrame += diff; } } This ensures me that everything must to move according to the time that the machine takes to go from cycle to cycle (remember it's a phone, not a gaming rig). I'm sure it's not the most efficient way to achieve this behavior so I'm totally open for criticism of my programming skills in the comments, but here my problem: When I make I character jump, what I do is that I put his dy to a negative value, say -200 and I set the boolean jumping to true, that makes the character go up, and then I have this function called checkGravity() that ensure that everything that goes up has to go down, checkGravity also checks for the character being over platforms so I will strip it down a little for the sake of your time: public void checkGravity() { if (this.jumping) { this.jumpSpeed += 10; if (this.jumpSpeed > 0) { this.jumping = false; this.falling = true; } this.dy = this.jumpSpeed; } if (this.falling) { this.jumpSpeed += 10; if (this.jumpSpeed > 200) this.jumpSpeed = 200; this.dy = this.jumpSpeed; if (this.collidesWithPlatform()) { this.falling = false; this.standing = true; this.jumping = false; this.jumpSpeed = 0; this.dy = this.jumpSpeed; } } } So, the problem is, that this function updates the dy regardless of the diff, making the characters fly like Superman in slow machines, and I have no idea how to implement the diff factor so that when a character is jumping, his speed decrement in a proportional way to the game speed. Can anyone help me fix this issue? or give me pointers on how to make a 2D Jump in J2ME the right way. Thank you very much for your time.

Hi, im brand spanking new to WCF and Im trying to understand how to correctly expose my BLL to it. So I now need to access some information, I have created another .svc file called Project.svc and IProject.cs, this contains the same info as resource (apart from the type is Project) But this now means I have another webservice, surley this is not right!?

How does polymorphism work in Python?

I'm new to Python... and coming from a mostly Java background, if that accounts for anything. I'm trying to understand polymorphism in Python. Maybe the problem is that I'm expecting the concepts I already know to project into Python. But I put together the following test code: class animal(object): "empty animal class" class dog(animal): "empty dog class" myDog = dog() print myDog.__class__ is animal print myDog.__class__ is dog From the polymorphism I'm used to (e.g. java's instanceof), I would expect both of these statements to print true, as an instance of dog is an animal and also is a dog. But my output is: False True What am I missing?

How to handle ThreadAbortException Without Specifying False for Response.End

I know all about this exception, read the msdn article here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/312629/EN-US/ but I do not know how to handle this when my boss does not want me to throw in false for the Response.End. So what other option is there other than putting false as this param? He's stating to catch it and do something...ok do what? I don't see any other fix than to send false into this call every time because I can't get pass this exception..I get it every time.

Hi! I develop an eclipse plugin and I want to create an progress bar as eclipse view at bottom of the workbench window. I have an example, but this is showed only a moment. user agent checking for ios6

I am trying to check whether client opening the page is using iOS6 or not. var startIndex = navigator.userAgent.search(/OS/i) + 2; var endIndex = navigator.userAgent.search(/like/i); var iOSVersion = parseInt(navigator.userAgent.substr(startIndex,endIndex - startIndex).trim()); this.iOSVersion = true; if(!isNaN(iOSVersion)){ this.iOSVersion = iOSVersion; } else if(Ext.is.Desktop){ this.iOSVersion = true; } The above code works well for all the versions of browsers. But incase of using it in iOS6, it shows as iOS5. Searched for the same thing, but I didn't find a solution. May be I am still not done with searching for this, doing side by side search and hoping if some one has faced this issue before. Any suggestions or updations?

Java - Is Set.contains() broken on OpenJDK 6?

Hey, I've come across a really strange problem. I have written a simple Deck class which represents a standard 52 card deck of playing cards. The class has a method missingCards() which returns the set of all cards which have been drawn from the deck. If I try and compare two identical sets of missing cards using .equals() I'm told they are different, and if I check to see if a set contains an element that I know is there using .contains() I am returned false. Here is my test code: public void testMissingCards() { Deck deck = new Deck(true); Set<Card> drawnCards = new HashSet<Card>(); drawnCards.add(deck.draw()); drawnCards.add(deck.draw()); drawnCards.add(deck.draw()); Set<Card> missingCards = deck.missingCards(); System.out.println(drawnCards); System.out.println(missingCards); Card c1 = null; for (Card c : drawnCards){ c1 = c; } System.out.println("C1 is "+c1); for (Card c : missingCards){ System.out.println("C is "+c); System.out.println("Does c1.equal(c) "+c1.equals(c)); System.out.println("Does c.equal(c1) "+c.equals(c1)); } System.out.println("Is c1 in missingCards "+missingCards.contains(c1)); assertEquals("Deck confirm missing cards",drawnCards,missingCards); } (Edit: Just for clarity I added the two loops after I noticed the test failing. The first loop pulls out a card from drawnCards and then this card is checked against every card in missingCards - it always matches one, so that card must be contained in missingCards. On the UpdatePanel,there few labels and componentart Grid which Updates from the server on every Asynchronous postback when an image button is clicked. The Problem is that the server code updates the modalpopupextender labels as the information on the grid but it wont display the Updated version of it on the modal Popup Extender. Need some Help... Difference between Popup's IsOpen and Visibility properties?

I've played around with the WPF Popup Control and as far as I can see, the Visibility property is superfluous. If you have a Popup with IsOpen = True, it will be visible even if its Visibility = Collapsed. If you have a Popup with IsOpen = False, then its Visibility will be Collapsed, and will remain "Collapsed" when IsOpen changes to true, and it will appear. (i.e. you'll have something that appears on your screen, even though Snoop says it is Collapsed.) Why does the Popup control have both these properties? Am I missing something here?
