  • Why did my zpool replace never finish and what should I do now?

    I have a ZFS zpool with two disks in a mirror configuration, da0 and da1. da1 failed, and so I replaced it with da2 using zpool replace BearCow da1 da2 This ran for a few hours, during which zpool status showed that the array was being resilvered. When that finished, zpool status showed that the resilver was completed, but the array was still degraded... I tried a zpool scrub and a zpool clear, but the array still shows as degraded: [root@chef] ~# zpool status BearCow pool: BearCow state: DEGRADED scrub: scrub completed after 0h20m with 0 errors on Tue Oct 9 16:13:27 2012 config: NAME STATE READ WRITE CKSUM BearCow DEGRADED 0 0 0 mirror DEGRADED 0 0 0 da0 ONLINE 0 0 0 replacing DEGRADED 0 0 0 da1 OFFLINE 0 0 0 da2 ONLINE 0 0 0 errors: No known data errors I can't zpool replace BearCow da1 da2 anymore because da2 is already a member of BearCow... This is FreeBSD (FreeNAS) running ZFS pool version 15. How do I get my array to show as healthy again?

    Do someone know how to get glsl shaders work in gtk-opengl window? With glut all glCreateProgram etc. functions works, but when I tried to put the same gl code into pygtkglext window, its complaining about NullReference: OpenGL.error.NullFunctionError: Attempt to call an undefined function glCreateProgram, check for bool(glCreateProgram) before calling So then I from OpenGL.GL.ARB.shader_objects import *, but the result is similar: OpenGL.error.NullFunctionError: Attempt to call an undefined function glCreateProgramObjectARB, check for bool(glCreateProgramObjectARB) before calling Any idea will be useful.

    I found this site, http://www.apitalk.com/document.php?id=1184207999_1 and I'm not sure if this site is using ATL, STL, MFC, or just calling API functions directly. I have done console programming with C++ and graphics programmign with C++ in Borland, but I've have never done Win32 C++ programming and I'm curious if anyone knows of a good site to start with? Does anyone know of any good sites to recommend about getting up and going fast with Win32 API C++?

    HI, I've created volumes in equallogic in PS 6000 XV(having 2 member which is in 1 pool), checked & those volumes can be easily detected my ISCSI software in windows. But the problem with ESX , not able to see the assigned disk on ESX server, I can explain what I've done: 1.Created Cluster with enabled HA & DRS 2.Added 3 ESX4 HOST 3.Added VMkernel & configured in all 3 ESX4, enabled vmotion & FT on the same adapter. 4.went to iSCSI storage adapter properties, enabled iSCSI 5.Trying to discover the available storage with the controller IP on dynamic discovery, but not able to see the assigned storage Note: the same volume is accessed to windows that means there is no issue from storage , am I right ???? Note: I wanted to mount the same volume in all 3 ESX host. Please suggest .... Thanks & Regards, Rashid Mustafa

  • Placing a window near the system tray

    I am writing a program that needs to set a window just above/below the traybar for gtk. I have tried using the 2 approaches that failed. One was using the gtk_status_icon_position_menu function and placing the window in the point where the user clicks (in the tray bar). The problem is that these solutions work in gnome(Linux) but not in Windows. In Linux they work because the window manager doesn't seem to allow placement of windows in the tray panel, honoring the closest possible. In Windows this doesn't happen and the window can go "out" of the screen which understandably is not desired. With this said i went out for a work around. My idea was to set the window in the location of mouse click and get the x and y coordinates of a normal window placement and with it's size check if it would be within the screen boundaries. If it was not make the correction. I have came up with the functions needed but for some reason the gdk_drawable_get_size(window-window ,&WindowWidth, &WindowHeight) and other similar functions only give the correct size value after the second run of the signal function. The result of the first run is just 1 to both size and width.   • mysql datetime performance

    Hi, since in mysql datetime field is represented as string (i'm not sure how it works internally), wouldn't be from performance point of view faster to store date as unix timestamp? I don't need to use any mysql native date functions, i'm going for performance of sorting and selecting data. if there was an index for that column, would be difference between int and datetime?
