• Continual crashing in MKMapView annotationContainer:viewForAnnotation

  I've looked at other reports on this, and none seems to apply. Our app is being crippled by frequent (but not reliably reproducible) crashes like this: Reports of this turn up a lot on the Web, but many seem to go unsolved. I'm not doing anything crazy, just showing the user position and one marker on the map. I followed the examples I could find, and I've looked at the code for goofs but can't find any. Here's how my MapView delegate handles viewForAnnotation: The crash appears to be associated with a change in the user's location, but once the user-location marker is added, I don't mess with it. When I need to refresh the one other map marker, I skip the user marker when removing the other one: The delegate is the controller for the whole screen, so it's not being deallocated; the crash occurs while the screen is up. Not that it matters, but the map display looks like this: Any guesses or insight would be much appreciated! This is on iOS 5.0.1.

• Is it possible to make a button on an AlertDialog that doesn't automatically close the dialog?

  I have a simple list view with some check boxes in an alert dialog. I need to option to add a select all/none but you can't bring up the menu in an alert dialog, and I want to do this function from a button. From what I've seen any kind of button (positive, neutral, and negative) all close the dialog regardless. So, is this possible? If no, what alternatives do I have? My last mitigation is to simply create a new view and recreate everything. Is a new view the best solution?

• NSPredicate acting strange in NSFetchedResultsController

  I feel as if this should be very simple, but it's behaving strangely. I have 3 entities, with a relationship as such Entity A <-- Entity B <<-- Entity C I have an NSFetchedResults controller and I'm trying to filter the results of Entity A using the following predicate. [NSPredicate predicateWithFormat:@"NONE entityB.entityC == %@", self.entityC]; When I try and run the app, the output shows no results. I can alter the predicate slightly to: [NSPredicate predicateWithFormat:@"ANY entityB.entityC == %@", self.entityC]; And it shows me only the results that I want it to filter out. Why is this happening?

I have seen these approaches, none of them good for me (the above example is a toy example): Load the class (or a separate interface) by a class loader that is a parent of both the calling code and created classloader Serialize and deserialize the object.

• Why does PowerShell fail to build my .net solutions? ("file is being used by another process")

  I've written a PowerShell script to build several .net solutions one after the other. It simply makes several calls to csc.exe to build the .sln files. Almost every time I run the script one of the solutions fails to build and CSC.exe reports: error CS1606: Assembly signing failed; output may not be signed -- The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process. This happens even though I've closed all instances of Visual Studio holding these solutions and I've none of their exes running on mu machine. A similar batch file that I've written works just fine. It's only PowerShell that complains about the file being used by another process. How can avoid having this happen? Are there any better examples out there of building .net solutions through PowerShell?

  I have a form in which several buttons are added at runtime via a 'for' method public Form() { for (int i = 0 ... ) Button b = new Button() b.text = (string) i ; etc.. etc.. } . now i wish to change the text property of the buttons on a certain event. How can this be accomplished? I have tried a few things but none worked.. since the buttons variables are inside the method , they are not available outside. Thanks

• My Android 2.1 Nexus One, rooted and unlocked and unplugged and unchained! Unfreakinbelievable!

  So anyway. i fastbooted and superrooted, and all's fine in the merry old land of Oz. So yeah, now I can see /data/data.. in DDMS, both the plugin and the tool, which is great. but when I attach my phone, I still can't see the main drive. All I can see is the SD card. Using OSX, so when I use Disk Utility, I can see the machine then see the SD Card. is the problem that none of the tools I am using, except DDMS and ADB shell, know how to read that main Android drive? It's the same format as the qemu img, right? Someone HAS to come up with a tool that can do this, let me hack my phone and access the main drive via my USB connector, and mount that drive on my native file system. It just can NOT be that hard. Err, can it? All smiles! Michael

  I found a very helpful post on here about cropping images in a circle. However, when I try to execute the imagemagick script using exec in PHP, I'm getting no results. I've checked to make sure the directories have the correct permissions and such. Is there a step I'm missing? Any insight would be much appreciated. • CSS Vertical Spacing Issue (Margin?) - Vertical Space Between Two Divs

  I've got the layout of my site mostly done. On the domain I'm testing this layout on - http://networkgenius.org/ - there is a vertical space separating the content-wrapper div and the menu div. I have the margins set to 0px for the vertical spacing, and this is the only area that is separated like it is. I'd like the white content area to be pressed up right against the bottom of the menu, so that none of the body's background shows between them. What am I doing wrong?

• jQuery - Animation Causes Div Overlap IE7

  I have a hidden div (#contactArea) above another div. When I click the link, the #contactArea opens up. When I click it again, it closes back up. It all works nicely, except in IE7. The two divs are transparent, so they overlap. I have no idea why this happens, or why doesn't it happen on other browsers. It just about feels like IE7 is right on this one. • Applet in different directory than .html page

  Hello all, I'm trying to use a different directory to contain the applets and other directory with .html pages. Both are in the same level, that is, none is a sub-directory of the other. For that I was trying to use the parameter codebase, however, no matter what I put in codebase value (relative, absolute path) I always get a class not found error. I googled and found some people with the same problem, but no answers:( Does anybody knows how to accomplish this? I'm using JRE 1.6_20. Cheers, Jorge

For the life of me, I can't get this to work. I've got a ruby version working...BUT using the string splitter classes I thought I knew for .NET doesn't seem to be working so well. • Upload/Download images to FTP without bothering the user

  Hi, I know a lot of posts have been made in regards to FTP, but none have led me to what I need. I'm trying to upload a picture to a server (currently attempting FTP) but do it without notifying requiring the user to be involved. I want to be able to seamlessly upload/download the image when a certain user action occurs, but I don't want to use a third-party app like AndFTP. The idea is that a user will upload a picture, and then another user will be able to grab that picture based on which user put it up. No user will know where it's going or where it came from, nor will they navigate the FTP. Alternatively, does anyone have thoughts on a better way to do that? I thought of using the imgur api, but it can't be used commercially. It would, however, be perfect for my purposes. Is there a similar open-source alternative? Any help is greatly appreciated. Dan

  Hello, I'm attempting to write a script to generate SSH Identity key pairs for me. from M2Crypto import RSA key = RSA.gen_key(1024, 65337) key.save_key("/tmp/my.key", cipher=None) The file /tmp/my.key looks great now. By running ssh-keygen -y -f /tmp/my.key > /tmp/my.key.pub I can extract the public key. My question is how can I extract the public key from python?   Hi guys, i'm adding and removing <li> elements with jQuery, that are shown horizontally with the following style: #my_ul { list-style: none; } #my_ul li { float: left; margin: 0px 15px; } For example, if i add four <li> to an <ul> and then i decide to remove the second one, after it has been removed the other two <li> elements on the right immediately move to the left. • Son of Suckerfish ie6 problem - right-most dropdown menu also appearing on left side of screen

  I'm interning for an NGO in India and trying to fix their website, including updating their menu so it's not the last item on the page to load, and it's centered on the screen. Everything works well enough but when I try out my new menu in IE6, I get this weird error where the content below the menu is padded an extra 30px or so and the material in the right-most drop down appears on the far left of the screen, always visible. When I drop down the rightmost link ("Publications") the content appears both in the correct location and in the same spot on the far left of the screen, and changes color when I hover as well. • How can I set a highlighted image on a table view cell?

  I've followed the code in Apple's AdvancedTableViewCells and built a table view with a background image for cells. Now I want to change it so that instead of the blue highlight colour, it shows a darker version of my image. What are the steps I need to follow to do this? I'm using a UITableViewCell subclass with a custom NIB. My background image is implemented as the cell.backgroundView. The steps I've take so far are: Change the selectionStyle of the cell to "None" Set the Highlight colour on my UILabel subviews to a light colour Create a darker version of my background as a separate image Override setSelected: animated: I'm wondering about the next steps.

• Flex 4 - Using .pfm/.pfb fonts

  Hi everyone, I just switched to Flash Builder 4 & Flex 4 SDK, and it seems it's no longer possible to use a .pfm/.pfb font, either by embedding it or using it as a system font. I keep getting error messages, and Google can't find anybody having the same issue. I tried several methods: - copy/pasting the [Embed] statement which was working using Flex 3 SDK - installing the font and then try to simply call it by its name in a CSS declaration without embedding it ; seems to work for every .ttf and .otf system fonts, but not for .pfm/.pfm ones - using a Flash-generated swf which embeds the font So far none of these seems to work. Has anybody got an idea on how to achieve this? I actually don't care using a system font without embedding it as long as it works. I'll be really grateful if somebody could help me on this, I'm totally stuck and cannot use another font instead.

• AJAX ModalPopup Pops Behind (Under) Page Content (Negative z-index)

  I am having an issue with the AJAX ModalPopupExtender in version 40412 of the AJAX Control Toolkit (http://ajaxcontroltoolkit.codeplex.com/releases/view/43475). The first time the ModalPopup is made visible it works correctly. The z-index is set to 6001 (and the background Div's z-index is set to 6000) and the Popup appears above everything else. If the cancel button within the ModalPopup is clicked, it also has the correct functionality, the display is set to "none" and the ModalPopup is no longer visible. However, when the Popup is triggered again, the z-index is only set to 2000 which is still visible above everything else, but if it is canceled and triggered again it is set to -2000 which is not visible (the z-index is decreasing by 4000 each time). I'm not sure why this is happening. Any ideas how to fix it? Special circumstances: There are multiple ModalPopup's on the page. All ModalPopups are triggered in code-behind through partial-page postbacks (using the .Show() method) ModalPopupExtenders are within the same UpdatePanels that are displayed as popups
