  I have functionality built in python on a central server. I wish to expose this api over the network to an iphone application. What would be the best way to do that?   Looking at some code examples for HtmlHelpers, and I see declarations that look like: public static string HelperName(this HtmlHelper htmlHelper, ...more regular params ) I can't remember seeing this type of construct any where else - can someone explain the purpose of the "this"? I thought that by declaring something public static meant that the class did not need to be instantiated - so what is "this" in this case?

  i'm looking for a js engine to that I can (easily) expose C/C++ functions, classes etc. The API should allow changing exposed values from within C++ (by storing some kind of pointer or reference to an object inside js or so...). I've considered using google's v8 but I'm new to it and don't know whether it will satisfy my requirements. Can someone tell me whether I should stick to v8 or try something else?

  Hi all I have a URL such as http://www.domain.com/index.php?p=register. I want to redirect that to use HTTPS (SSL) with .htaccess, but only on this, and a couple of other pages (the login page, etc), but not the entire site. The URLs don't point to directories, but are used to dynamically include different files. Can someone give me a pointer or an example of how to get a single page redirect to HTTPS please?   Hello, I've been trying to put a UIWebView into my app, which is tableview based. When the user selects a row, I want the new xib to load, but this one with a UIWebView on it. From all of the tutorials I've seen, you can only put a UIWebView on the MainView.xib. Can someone please tell me how to put a FUNCTIONING UIWebView somewhere other than the main view?
