• Question about the lifecycle of a simple Android application

  Hi, I've got a simple application with 3 activities: -the first contains a search box which calls a web service and show the results (restaurants) below in a listview -when a restaurant is clicked another activity is started showing the description of the restaurant and a button "show map" -when the button "show map" is clicked, guess what, the map is shown in a third activity. All the data is loaded in the first activity by a web service (restaurant descriptions and coordinates), and data required by each activity is passed in a bundle using "intent.putExtra". Now everything seems to run smoothly when clicking on the back button (eg. clicking on the back button from the map resumes the "restaurant description" activity with all data set properly), while I haven't done anything about the lifecycle yet. Why? Are all variables saved automatically? Should I use onSaveInstanceState() and onRestoreInstanceState() anyway? Thanks Jul

• JQuery Selector - Select this, not that?

  Hi, I have created a script which is surprisingly working. (I do not do much JavaScript) What I have is a load of images listed within a div. These images are hidden. JQuery gets the properties of the images and puts them into an array. When the body is clicked, the background image of the page changes. This works nicely. However, I now have a problem. There are several elements which I shouldn't change the background when they are clicked. Namely, navigation, footer and caption. How do I create a selector which makes the body clickable, yet ignores clicks on the above 3 div's?

• What is the best way to manage application screens in SWT?

  I'm creating a standalone SWT desktop application that has around 10 different screens (few wizards, help, forms, etc). Some elements on screen don't change at all (like header, background, etc) and there is a working area that changes depending on what is clicked, etc. What is the best way to manage application screens? Do I need to create all screen at startup and then show/hide them depending on what is clicked? Or do I need to create those screens dynamically? Also, I couldn't find any way to show/hide a Composite, do I need to dispose it and then create again? What is the best practice? I'm new to SWT developing outside of Eclipse so any help would be beneficial.

• Google Visualization API Geomap: How to handle marker click events?

  Hello. I initially have the Google Visualization API Geomap on a world view (options['dataMode'] = 'regions') and I capture the 'regionClick' event when a country is clicked like so: google.visualization.events.addListener( geomap, 'regionClick', function (e) { var rowindex = data.getFilteredRows([{column: 0, value: e['region']}]); var location = data.getValue(rowindex[0], 3); location.href = "?ISO=" + e['region'] + "&Location=" + location; }); I then draw the map zoomed into the country in markers mode (options['dataMode'] = 'markers'). However, I can't seem to capture any events when the markers themselves are clicked. The documentation ( http://code.google.com/apis/visualization/documentation/gallery/geomap.html#Events ) only refers to 'select' and 'regionClick' events neither of which are fired in this case. (Tested using Chrome 9, and IE 8.) Has anybody had any success in doing this? Many thanks.

The problem is that I need only one marker and if I click several times, each time a new marker is added. How to change the code so only one marker is placed and when the map is clicked again it just changes its location?

• When page loads display 1st image text - hide all other text

  Hi I have created http://techavid.com/design/test3.html and when you load the page you see there are 3 images. The sun image is focused(in color), while the others are greyed out until clicked. That is how it should be for the images. Also when you load the page you see under each image it's own text(i.e. 1st: Sun, 2nd: Airplane, 3rd: Nano), but on page load I only want 1st:Sun to display and hide all other text until their respective image is clicked. Any idea how to do this? thanks :) J

  Hi, I'm trying to implement a shuttle control in wxPython but there doesn't seem to be one. I've decided to use two listbox controls. The shuttle control looks like this: I've got two listboxes — one's populated, one's not. Could someone show me how to add a selected item to the second list box when it is double clicked? It should be removed from the first. When it is double clicked in the second, it should be added to the first and removed from the second. The shuttle control implements these by default but it's a pity it isn't there. Thank you.

• jQuery event fires on doc ready

  I am trying to set the click event of a button on my form and for some reason I am getting weird behavior. When I bind the click event to a function that takes no arguments, things seem to work fine. But when I bind the event with a function that takes an argument, the event fires on document ready and on click. Any ideas?   Hi, I am trying to make the Spinner behave different way when the user clicked on an item for a long time. I have spinner with some project and I want two things. When the user simple click on an item I want to normal select it. When the user have long clicked on an item I want to show dialog, with options like "Edit item", "Delete item". • border highlighting loop with jquery

  I'm having trouble coming up with a loop that changes the border color of an image from black to yellow and yellow to black over x seconds. Then applying an interrupt to the loop when the image gets clicked on. I don't know where to start, can someone point me in the right direction? I think I may be using the wrong tools to properly write this. Here's what I've come up so far, though if there's a better way to write this, do share! for( i = 100; i >= 0; i--) { $("#imgid").css("border-color", 'rgb(' + i + '%,' + i + '%,0)'); } I'm having trouble picturing how I could combine two loops so that I can also count upwards as well so that it will turn into yellow and back to black.   Hi guys, I've a form with different field, a validation summary and a button Sign up! When I click on Sign up, if a field is empty, it active validation summary and until here there's no problem. So the problem is that I would want active a jQuery script after it was clicked Sign up button and it appeared validation summary. I try with $(this).load(function() but in effect it occur when the page is load and not after the button is clicked. I try also use button's onclick ,but I have to use script after onclick and not while. I used Validation group for all field of form, also button and for this reason it seems doesn't postback!

  Hello, Is it possible to programatically create a new panel within a current document that contains duplicate elements? For example when the window loads I have a grid (one row) with three text fields, Fname01, Lname01, and DOB01, I would like to have a button that when clicked would append a new row to the grid with three new fields (Fname02, Lname02, and DOB02). Each time the button is clicked (addrow) a new row would be created.   I have a webpage where there are two buttons and a textbox. When the page loads and user presses enter, the first button is clicked - and that is ok. I would like to assure that if user enters the textBox and types anything there and THEN presses enter, the second button is clicked. When I enter the textBox I can tell that the first button will be used when I press enter, because it is a bit dark-blue-bordered then. I tried javascript's if (event && event.keyCode == 13) document.getElementById("Button2").click(); but it somehow doesn't work. So my second thought was that there must be a possibility to tell the browser which button should defaultly react for an enter press when I'm in a specific textBox (the dark-blue-bordered button). In MainWindow.xaml it consists of listbox and when double clicked any item of listbox, it displays edit window (EditView userControl). Whenever edit window gets displayed, it plays an animation (sliding from right to left). The EditView userControl has two buttons 'Save' and 'Cancel'. • jQuery: How to stop propagation of a bound function not the entire event?

  I have a click function bound to many elements. It is possible that sometimes these elements may sit within one another. So, the click event is bound to a child and also bound to its parent. The method is specific to the element clicked. Naturally, because of event bubbling, the child's event is fired first, and then the parents. I cannot have them both called at the same time because the parents event overwrites the event of the child. So I could use event.stopPropagation() so only the first element clicked receives the event. The problem is that there are other click events also attached to the element, for example, I am using jQuery's draggable on these elements. If I stop the propagation of the click event, then draggable doesn't work, and the following click events are not called. So my question is: Is there a way to stop the event bubbling of the method the event will call and not the entire event?

  Hi everyone, I have coded a map that when a province object is clicked on, it should move to the center of the screen and grow a percentage of the width, along with displaying a number of different things. The problem is that in order for the image to resize it needs to be clicked on twice. It moves, and all of the children display just as they were designed to do, but the resize doesn't work on the first try. • Format SQL Query Result into web menu

  I am trying to bhuild a drill down menu for my website, where user will click on a category and it will show the subcategories of that clicked category, there could be n-levels. I am able to write sql query which returns the output exactaly as I want, but the problem is...I dont want to show the whole menu to end user, I would like to open/expand only clicked category. my Query output is: 1 IPTV 2 Jadoo Tv 3 Shava Tv 4 Jalva Tv 5 Programming 6 Microsoft 7 Asp.Net 8 PHP so by default IPTV & Programming Should be displayed, since they are parent, and when I click on IPTV it should open the children of IPTV, like I said there could be n-levels. I was thinking, I can load the output of query to webpage and then control the menu navigation with css/javascript. do you guys have any ideas?
