  • Removing bing from my google search bar when I open a new tab

    Bing has rudely planted its self on my "open new tab" so above bing my regular google is there but below is the irritating bing search bar! I have tried everything I know of to get rid of it and it will not go! I can not find it listed under my settings, control panel and/or uninstall! This is the second time bing has made its unwelcome tush comfy in my google area! How frustrating! I miss my mac book pro! Removing bing from my google search bar when I open a new tab.

  • Google Apps for Business on a separate infrastructure?

    Does anyone know if Google Apps for Business edition hosts the apps (gmail, calendar, etc.) on a physically separate infrastructure than the Standard (free) infrastructure? We've been growing increasingly annoyed with the lost/severely delayed email messages, downtime, etc. of Google Apps (standard) over time, and we are wondering if moving to the paid version would bring any benefits. Specifically, if the Business edition is not in some way on a different physical infrastructure, and we are in essence paying for a few small perks but still run on the usual standard/free setup, then we would probably have the same (or just as many) issues with the Business version. I've emailed Google's sales team responsible for GApps, but haven't heard anything back in 4 days, which already doesn't speak well for the service. So, anyone have any insight into this?   • Import Google Voice Contacts Into iPhone

    What I'd like to do is have my Google Voice contacts available on my iPhone, not the other way around. I recently had to restore the phone to factory defaults and it's a pain to manually enter all them all. When I make a new GMail e-mail account on my iPhone it won't let me import contacts from my Google account, but even if it did I don't want every single contact in my phone. Google for some reason adds every single person I've ever sent e-mails to into my contacts list, which as you can imagine is quite a large list by now. Does anyone have any suggestions for how to do this?

  • How To: Transfer Categories in Outlook 2007 from One Installation to Another Using Google Sync

    I use Outlook 2007 for email. I also happen to use the categories for organizing my mail. This function is cool, because you can use keyboard shortcuts that make categorizing mail quick and easy. The problem I am having is that, since I use Google Apps Sync at home and at work, I can't seem to figure out how to transfer the existing category assignments that I spent months creating at work. As my email comes and goes, I assign this and that, with thousands of messages all belonging to specific categories. When I finally installed and started using Google Apps Sync at home, the synchronization process works great, but all my messages are blank, i.e., don't have the color categories I assigned at work. What's worse, I actually changed computers at work, and now am facing the same problem on the new workstation. Using: Windows XP Pro, Outlook 2007, Google Apps. Anyone run into this and find a solution?

  • Google docs spreadsheet not loading

    I have a Google spreadsheet with a lot of very important data and some scripts that where working well. At some point, the brownser crash and I reload the page. After that, I can't acess that (only that!) spreadsheet any more! I try it from other Google accounts but it doesn't work. All I get is the "Loading..." message in the brownser tab and nothing more (the loading process never completes). I also can't: copy the file or download it! Ie, I can lose all the information in my spreadsheet and also lose all my scripts! (I never think something like this could hapen with a Google Product) How can I solve this problem? Leng Tan, Oracle VP of Products, delivered the keynote with collaboration from a number of key partners in the region. From left to right: Leng Tan, VP of Products, Oracle; Shinyashiki-san, Assistant General Manager, NEC; Fuketa-san, General Manager, HITACHI; Fujii-san, General Manager, Fujitsu; Misawa-san, VP of Alliances, Oracle Japan NEC, Hitachi and Fujitsu have been among Oracle’s most active partners in the Japan region. They have received key awards from Oracle Japan for their efforts. NEC received the partner of the year award for 2010 and 2011. Air Hockey in Action There are two ways that you can play Air Hockey…either using the drop-down window or opening the game in a new tab. For our example we chose to play in a new tab. Before starting the game you can choose the difficulty level, to enable/disable the sound, and/or to go to full screen if desired. Note: Screenshot of “Full Screen” version shown below. While playing you really have to stay on top of things…the computer player will beat you rather quickly if you do not. Hustle hustle hustle! With a little bit of practice it does become easier but even the “Easy Level” on this game will keep you busy. If the normal size game screen seems just a bit small you can easily get a larger version using the “Full Screen Link” below the game window. Whether your browser is non-maximized as shown here or totally maximized it will fill the entire browser window area.   • Authorship tag or Customer reviews to enhance click-through rate

    I was first using authorship tag on all the pages of my website. That gave me a pretty decent improvement in the click through rate. However, I have recently added ratings on my website, i.e. all my pages are being rated by the readers and the same has been made available to Google via rich snippets. The result being the image of the author from the google search results has been removed. It shows ratings given by the customers and just writes the name of the author. What will be its impact on the click-through rate ? Is it OK to have the ratings or should I switch back to only authorship tag as I was using in the past ? Please comment if I am unclear in asking my problem. Thanks :)

  • Ubuntu 12.04 Wireless won't connect with gnome network manager or wicd

    I have an HP Pavilion Slimline s3100n and I cannot for the life of me get the wifi to connect and stay connected in any circumstances with network manager or wicd... I'm pulling my freaking hair out with this, and I can't get a dang thing down AT ALL... switching to wicd didn't work, putting my password in the connections editor didn't work... nothing at all is working... everything that everyone else is saying to me is chinese and I really just want my pc to work... please help... I will provide any information needed to help me with this. just instruct me on how to find that information. Don't pass this question by without helping me please... I'm so frustrated...

  • Network Manager kicks off abruptly

    I have installed Ubuntu 10.10 and trying to connect with my ADSL Wireless broadband internet modem using Linksys WUSB600N receiver. The good news is the OS is able to detect my wifi network and I am able to hook to network over WPA authentication with basic settings. But the network goes off abruptly and never connects again until I reboot the machine. I have Windows 7 as dual boot on my machine. The same adapter works perfectly with Windows 7 but not in Ubuntu. Is there anything in need to tweak to make things working or do I need to try any other better network manager on Ubuntu?

  • Update Manager offers 900+ updates under partial upgrade mode

    Today I checked for updates and got an error message telling me I must do a partial upgrade. I was shocked to see how many updates there were available. 900+ Updates! By using synaptic I found out that it wanted to remove core packages from my system, such as compiz and python, but also update some as well. I am very confused why package manager would want to do this all of a sudden, and why it wants to destroy my system. I really need an answer, because I now cannot update my system.

  • Google doesn't seem to update the description or title of my homepage

    Before we launched our website, we had set up a "coming soon" page and google picked up the title and description from its contents. So the description in the search results said, "Coming soon! Visit epicwhale.org for updates." It's been a few weeks since we launched our website. We've even created a sitemap and submitted it to google. In the google webmaster panel, the pages have been crawled and all the pages are appearing as expected on google, EXCEPT the homepage which is still not updated! The title and description of the homepage in google search results still says coming soon.. The website I am referring to is textmewidget.com and below are the images of the search result. Google: http://i.imgur.com/vAkJg.png I checked on bing too, but it appears to be fine there. Bing: http://i.imgur.com/Q8O6L.png All other pages seem to be indexed fine on google. I don't even have any crawl errors in my reports. So what seems to be the problem? I've already waited for 2 weeks. Thanks in advance!

  • OpenVPN is installed but it is not an avaliable option in the network manager

    I have installed and used openVPN once before in a previous install of Ubuntu 12.04. I have since reformatted, and now after reinstalling openVPN it will not show up in the network manager. I am trying to setup my VPN connection and the only option I have to choose from is PPTP. EDIT: I have Gnome Shell and KDE installed as well, Gnome being my primary. I cannot find OpenVPN in either Gnome or Unity, however I can add it without an issue in KDE. Not really an acceptable workaround, but it works for now. I would still like to be able to do it in GTK based desktops as well.

  • Network manager indicator missing

    I recently upgraded from 11.10 to 12.04. My first attempt failed, and I received an error stating that not all of the required packages were downloaded. Before (successfully) attempting again, I noticed that there was no longer a networking indicator in the upper panel. The indicator did not reappear with the installation of 12.04. To be clear, my wireless connection has experienced no problems, despite the missing indicator. Here are the solutions that I have found which did not work for me: Editing /etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf and replacing [ifupdown] managed=false with =true. Reinstalling network-manager (via apt-get install --reinstall). I am currently running 12.04 on an Asus Eee PC 1005 HA, and I am new to seeking solutions through forums, so I apologize if I have neglected to provide some vital information about my hardware.
