  • Eclipse project artefacts in Maven repository

    - by Georgios Gousios
I want to use some of the libraries produced by the Eclipse project through Maven. I 've had a look at the main Maven repo and while it looks like that there are a few projects already imported, their versions are old and some important ones are missing (e.g. cdt). Is there any Eclipse project official Maven repository? If not, what would be the best option to use current versions of libraries such as the JDT compiler in a maven-enabled project?

  • How to use jaxb_commons plugins from maven

    - by user243155
I'm trying to use a jaxb plugin to insert a interface into a choice element generating the classes from maven. The problem is that I can't seem to figure out how to do so from maven, the repository isn't clear from the documentation and the only example (bellow) doesn't work, it seems to ignore the plugin (maven reports no error about not finding it) or the plugin doesn't have all the adds-ons currently listed in the project documentation: <plugin> <groupId>org.jvnet.jaxb2.maven2</groupId> <artifactId>maven-jaxb2-plugin</artifactId> <version>0.6.1</version> <executions> <execution> <goals> <goal>generate</goal> </goals> </execution> </executions> <configuration> <generatePackage>br.com.wonder.nfe.xml</generatePackage> <args> <arg>-Xifins</arg> </args> <plugins> <plugin> <groupId>org.jvnet.jaxb2_commons</groupId> <artifactId>basic</artifactId> <version>0.4.1.5</version> </plugin> </plugins> </configuration> </plugin> I have these in the root pom: <pluginRepositories> <pluginRepository> <id>maven2-repository.dev.java.net</id> <url>http://download.java.net/maven/2</url> </pluginRepository> <pluginRepository> <id>maven-repository.dev.java.net</id> <name>Java.net Maven 1 Repository (legacy)</name> <url>http://download.java.net/maven/1</url> <layout>legacy</layout> </pluginRepository> </pluginRepositories> Running that gives: Error while setting CmdLine options '[-Xifins, -episode, /home/administrador/JavaApp/wnfe3/wnfe-ejb/target/generated-sources/xjc/META-INF/sun-jaxb.episode]'! • tomcat 5.5 startup script on Ubuntu server

    - by Registered User
Can any one share their Tomcat startup script I am looking for a tomcat start up script on a Ubuntu machine. My Ubuntu is 10.04 server. The tomcat is 5.5.30. It is in /opt/apache-tomcat-5.5.31 I tried a script #!/bin/bash # # tomcat # # chkconfig: # description: Start up the Tomcat servlet engine. # Source function library. . /lib/lsb/init-functions RETVAL=$? CATALINA_HOME="/opt/apache-tomcat-5.5.31" case "$1" in start) if [ -f $CATALINA_HOME/bin/startup.sh ]; then echo $"Starting Tomcat" /opt/apache-tomcat-5.5.31/bin/startup.sh fi ;; stop) if [ -f $CATALINA_HOME/bin/shutdown.sh ]; then echo $"Stopping Tomcat" /opt/apache-tomcat-5.5.31/bin/shutdown.sh fi ;; *) echo $"Usage: $0 {start|stop}" exit 1 ;; esac exit $RETVAL but it did not worked after a reboot. But the same script works if I do /etc/init.d/tomcat start or /etc/init.d/tomcat stop I have done update-rc.d tomcat defaults as it is a Ubuntu server but on reboot all of this fails to work.

  • Tomcat can't talk to MySql after outage

    - by gav
I missed a payment for my server and hey suspended my account for a day or so. When they brought the server back up all my data was in tact but for some reason Tomcat can't make a JDBC connection to my MySql server. They both run on the same machine and hence I have a bind address of 127.0.0.1. It's strange because I have reset the machine of my own accord before without issue but clearly something has been reset in the downtime. I followed this guide (Just the bits which don't concern S3, I am not on Amazon infrastructure) originally and everything worked as expected. I'm very new to being a SysAdmin and I'm not sure what to try, how would you go about diagnosing this issue? The stack trace I get is as follows; INFO: Deploying web application archive myapp-1.1.war 2010-05-26 22:07:22,221 [main] ERROR context.ContextLoader - Context initialization failed org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException: Error creating bean with name 'messageSource': Initialization of bean failed; nested exception is org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException: Error creating bean with name 'transactionManager': Cannot resolve reference to bean 'sessionFactory' while setting bean property 'sessionFactory'; nested exception is org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException: Error creating bean with name 'sessionFactory': Cannot resolve reference to bean 'hibernateProperties' while setting bean property 'hibernateProperties'; nested exception is org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException: Error creating bean with name 'hibernateProperties': Cannot resolve reference to bean 'dialectDetector' while setting bean property 'properties' with key [hibernate.dialect]; nested exception is org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException: Error creating bean with name 'dialectDetector': Invocation of init method failed; nested exception is org.springframework.jdbc.support.MetaDataAccessException: Could not get Connection for extracting meta data; nested exception is org.springframework.jdbc.CannotGetJdbcConnectionException: Could not get JDBC Connection; nested exception is org.apache.commons.dbcp.SQLNestedException: Cannot create PoolableConnectionFactory (Communications link failure The last packet sent successfully to the server was 0 milliseconds ago. • Chrome plugin process - npapi plugin

    - by kambamsu
Hi, I'm writing an npapi plugin in Qt. My plugin works perfectly on firefox and opera. The problem in chrome i guess is regarding the "process-per-plugin" setup. What happens is, when i first open a page, the plugin is injected and all works as per expected. But when i navigate from that page to another one, in the new page, the plugin seems to get injected but even its constructor isnt called. To examine the issue, I tried killing my plugin process via the chrome task manager before i navigate to the new page. When i do this, the plugin works as expected in the 2nd page too. I'm unable to comprehend what is happening here. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

  • Tiny MCE ImageManager Plugin, "cant create instance of plugin"

    - by Lofving
We just bought MCImageManager and went right on to creating our own plugin. I followed http://wiki.moxiecode.com/index.php/MCI … ing_plugin from start to end but got stuck on the last step. After configuring the build.bat file (that comes along the package) it gives me no errors, i checked all paths and it should work but there just is no plugin.dll file anywhere to be found. (The bat file is also linked to the .net 1.4322, that should be changed by you at tinyMCE in my opinion) To circumvent that problem I started a new project and compiled the plugin.dll through Visual Studio. Then placed the dll in the c:..\project\plugins\plugin\bin\ folder (at the same place as the _TemplatePlugin.dll file but with the plugins name) All i get from running the application is "Could not create instance of plugin class: Moxiecode.Manager.Plugins.Plugin" What is it I'm missing? All the other plugins ain't giving this error and they follow the same structure as my custom plugin. Thanks in advance //Micael

  • Tomcat won't shutdown gracefully -how can I tell if the shutdown port is open?

Hi, I installed Tomcat 6 using the tar-ball via wget. Startup of the server is fine but on shutdown I get a timeout exception. root@88:/usr/local/tomcat/logs# /usr/local/tomcat/bin/shutdown.sh Using CATALINA_BASE: /usr/local/tomcat Using CATALINA_HOME: /usr/local/tomcat Using CATALINA_TMPDIR: /usr/local/tomcat/temp Using JRE_HOME: /usr Using CLASSPATH: /usr/local/tomcat/bin/bootstrap.jar 30-Mar-2010 17:33:41 org.apache.catalina.startup.Catalina stopServer SEVERE: Catalina.stop: java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out at java.net.PlainSocketImpl.socketConnect(Native Method) at java.net.PlainSocketImpl.doConnect(PlainSocketImpl.java:333) at java.net.PlainSocketImpl.connectToAddress(PlainSocketImpl.java:195) at java.net.PlainSocketImpl.connect(PlainSocketImpl.java:182) at java.net.SocksSocketImpl.connect(SocksSocketImpl.java:366) ... I read that this might be because I have a firewall blocking incoming connections on the shutdown port (8005). I have a default Ubuntu 9.04 installation running on a VPS with no rules in my iptables. How can I tell if that port is blocked? How can I check that the server is listening for connections on 8005? Bizarrely pinging localhost or the IP of my server fails from the server itself, whereas pinging the IP of my server from another machine succeeds. Gav

  • How to get maven gwt 2.0 build working

    - by Pieter Breed
EDIT: Added some of the output of the mvn -X -e commands at the end My company is developing a GWT application. We've been using maven 2 and GWT 1.7 successfully for quite a while. We recently decided to upgrade to GWT 2.0. We've already updated the eclipse project and we are able to successfully run the application in dev-mode. We are struggling to get the application built using maven though. I'm hoping somebody can tell me what I'm doing wrong here since I'm running out of time on this. The exacty bit of the output that worries me is the 'GWT compilation skipped' message: [INFO] Copying 119 resources [INFO] [compiler:compile {execution: default-compile}] [INFO] Compiling 704 source files to K:\iCura\assessor\target\classes [INFO] [gwt:compile {execution: default}] [INFO] using GWT jars for specified version 2.0.0 [INFO] establishing classpath list (scope = compile) [INFO] com.curasoftware.assessor.Assessor is up to date. • Intellij Community can't use http proxy for Maven

    - by MikeHoss
I have Intellij IDEA Community installed on a Linux box that needs to use an authenticated proxy to get to the Internet. I have a system-wide proxy on the box that works, and I have the proxy configured in ~/.m2/settings.xml. Maven correctly uses the proxy when I run try it from the command-line. I have the same proxy configured within Intellij and it gives me the plugins listing correctly. But when I try to sync with the Maven repository withing Intellij I keep getting this: [WARNING] Unable to get resource 'org.codehaus.mojo:hibernate3-maven-plugin:pom:2.2' from repository restlet (http://maven.restlet.org): Authorization failed: Not authorized by proxy. I went to Settings-Maven and put in the proxy info as properties and that didn't work. I can see by looking at those settings that Intellij is reading my ~./m2/settings.xml fine because it knows where my local repo is (it's in a non-standard place). Anyone know how I can get this working?

  • Maven "Module" vs "Project"

    - by Ricket
I'm a beginner at Maven and I've played with it from a command line point of view a little, so now I was trying to use it in Eclipse; I installed the m2eclipse plugin to do so. But I'm stumped from the very beginning! Apparently I've missed a bit of terminology somewhere along the line. I can't keep track of all these new Maven terms... What is a Maven Project, and what is a Maven Module? These are my options when creating a new project in the Maven category in Eclipse.

  • Migrating from Maven to SBT

    - by Vasil Remeniuk
Hi people, As you know, SBT is compatible with Maven in some way -- SBT recognizes simple Maven POMs and can use dependencies and repositories specified in them. However, SBT wiki says that, if inline dependency is specified in SBT project definition, POM will be ignored (so using both in this case is impossible): Maven and Ivy configurations (pom.xml and ivy.xml) are ignored when inline dependency declarations are present. Does anyone know, if any kind of converter from Maven POM to SBT project definition exists (translating POM's XML into project definition Scala code)? I'm considering writing such script (that will help to migrate my old Scala/Maven projects to SBT), but want to know first, if this functionality already exists. Thanks in advance.

  • default maven compiler setting

    - by Jeeyoung Kim
Hello Maven gurus, Right now, I'm writing a small java application by my own, with few maven pom.xml files. I want to make all my maven packages to compile with jdk 1.6, and I can't find a good way to do it without manually setting it on every single POMs - I'm sick of copy-and-pasting <groupId>org.apache.maven.plugins</groupId> <artifactId>maven-compiler-plugin</artifactId> <configuration> <source>1.6</source> <target>1.6</target> </configuration> in every single pom.xml file I generate. Is there a simpler way to resolve this issue?

  • maven assemblies. Putting each dependency with transitive dependencies in own directory?

    - by jr
I have a maven project which consists of a few modules. This is to be deployed on a client machine and will involve installing Tomcat and will make use of NSIS for installer. There is a separate application which monitors tomcat and can restart it, perform updates, etc. So, I have the modules setup as follows: project +-- client (all code, handlers, for the war) +-- client-common - (shared code, shared between monitor and client) +-- client-web - (the war, basically just uses war has applicationcontext, web.xml, etc) +-- monitor - (the monitor application jar. Uses wrapper to run) So, I need to create an installer. I was planning on creating another module which would be the installer. This is where I would have tomcat directory and I'd like maven to "assemble" everything and then run NSIS so I can create the final installer. However, I need to have the monitor jar file in a directory and then have all monitors dependencies in a lib/ directory. The final directory structure should be: project-installer-directory/monitor/monitor-version.jar project-installer-directory/monitor/lib/monitor-dep-1.jar project-installer-directory/monitor/lib/monitor-dep-2.jar project-installer-directory/monitor/lib/monitor-dep-3.jar project-installer-directory/webapps/client-web.war Where in the client-web\WEB-INF\lib directory we will have all client-web's dependencies after it is exploded. That works, I have the .war file. What I am having problems with is getting the monitor module dependencies independent of the dependencies of the client-web module. I tried to just create the installer module and make the monitor and client-web dependencies, but when I use dependencies-copy it gives me everything. Not what I want. I'm leaning towards creating a new module called monitor-assembly or something to give me a zip file which contains the directory format I need, but that is yet another module. Can someone please help me with the correct way to accomplish this? thanks!

  • Build Pipelining and Continuous Integration with Maven and Hudson

    - by Brandon
Currently the my team is considering splitting our single CI build process into a more streamlined multi-stage process to speed up basic build feedback and isolate different ci concerns. The idea we had was to have each stage exist in Hudson as a different build with the correct maven goal or maven plugin execution, then chain them together using the post-build hooks of Hudson. However to my knowledge, Maven as a build tool mandates that any lifecycle phase which is performed automatically builds every preceding lifecycle phase. This presents a number of problems the most significant of which is that maven is recreating the build resources with each distinct call and not using those of the previous stage. This not only breaks the consistency of the build lifecycle but has much more unnecessary processing overhead. Is there a way to accomplish pipelining with CI using Maven? Assuming there is, is there a way to let Hudson know to use those resources built from the previous stage in the next one?

  • Maven install-file won't generate pom.xml

    - by anotherCoder
I've installed some third party jars to my repository using the following command: mvn install:install-file -Dfile=/home/anotherCoder/Downloads/nifty-1.0.jar -DgroupId=nifty-gui -DartifactId=nifty-gui -Dversion=1.0 -Dpackaging=jar However, once I do mvn compile, maven complains that there is no pom file in the repository and attempts to download it, but can't cause it is not published at any remote repository. Here is the exact message from maven: Downloading: http://repo1.maven.org/maven2/nifty-gui/nifty-gui/1.0/nifty-gui-1.0.pom [INFO] Unable to find resource 'nifty-gui:nifty-gui:pom:1.0' in repository central (http://repo1.maven.org/maven2) So how do I get maven to generate a pom file for that jar and put it in my local repository?

  • How to force Maven to download maven-metadata.xml from the central repository?

    - by Alceu Costa
What I want to do is to force Maven to download the 'maven-metadata.xml' for each artifact that I have in my local repository. The default Maven behaviour is to download only metadata from remote repositories (see this question). Why I want to do that: Currently I have a remote repository running in a build machine. By remote repository I mean a directory located in the build machine that contains all dependencies that I need to build my Maven projects. Note that I'm not using a repository manager like Nexus, the repository is just a copy of a local repository that I have uploaded to my build machine. However, since my local repository did not contain the 'maven-metadata.xml' files, these metadata files are also missing in the build machine repository. If I could retrieve the metadata files from the central repository, then it would be possible to upload a working remote repository to my build machine.

  • Maven: trying to get my submodule's poms to NOT inherit a plugin in the parent

    - by jobrahms
My project has a parent pom and several submodule poms. I've put a plugin in the parent that is responsible for building our installer distributables (using install4j). It doesn't make sense to have this plugin run on the submodules, so I've put false in the plugin's config, as seen below. The problem is, when I run mvn clean install install4j:compile it cleans, compiles, and runs the install4j plugin on the parent, but then it tries to run it on the child modules and crashes. Here's the plugin config <plugin> <groupId>com.google.code.maven-install4j</groupId> <artifactId>maven-install4j-plugin</artifactId> <version>0.1.1</version> <inherited>false</inherited> <configuration> <executable>${devenv.install4jc}</executable> <configFile>${basedir}/newinstaller/ehd-demo.install4j</configFile> <releaseId>${project.version}</releaseId> <attach>false</attach> <skipOnMissingExecutable>true</skipOnMissingExecutable> </configuration> </plugin> Am I misunderstanding the purpose of inherited=false? What is the correct way to get this to work? I'm using maven 2.2.0.

  • Eclipse Java Code Formatter in NetBeans Plugin Manager

    - by Geertjan
Great news for Eclipse refugees everywhere. Benno Markiewicz forked the Eclipse formatter plugin that I blogged about sometime ago (here and here)... and he fixed many bugs, while also adding new features. It's a handy plugin when you're (a) switching from Eclipse to NetBeans and want to continue using your old formatting rules and (b) working in a polyglot IDE team, i.e., now the formatting rules defined in Eclipse can be imported into NetBeans IDE and everyone will happily be able to conform to the same set of formatting standards. And now you can get it directly from Tools | Plugins in NetBeans IDE 7.4: News from Benno on the plugin, received from him today: The plugin is verified by the NetBeans community and available in the Plugin Manager in NetBeans IDE 7.4 (as shown above) and also at the NetBeans Plugin Portal here, where you can also read quite some info about the plugin:  http://plugins.netbeans.org/plugin/50877/eclipse-code-formatter-for-java The issue with empty undo buffer was solved with the help of junichi11: https://github.com/markiewb/eclipsecodeformatter_for_netbeans/issues/18 The issue with the lost breakpoints remains unsolved and there was no further feedback. That is the main reason why the save action isn't activated by default. See also the open known issues at https://github.com/markiewb/eclipsecodeformatter_for_netbeans/issues?state=open Features are as follows:  Global configuration and project specific configuration.  On save action, which is disabled by default. Show the used formatter as a notification, which is enabled by default.  Finally, Benno testifies to the usefulness, stability, and reliability of the plugin: I use the Eclipse formatter provided by this plugin every day at work. Before I commit, I format the sources. It works and that's it. I am pleased with it. Here's where the Eclipse formatter is defined globally in Tools | Options: And here is per-project configuration, i.e., use the Project Properties dialog of any project to override the global settings:  Interested to hear from anyone who tries the plugin and has any feedback of any kind!

  • How do you configure Tomcat to allow dynamically added hosts?

    - by Shaun F
Is there a way to setup apache and tomcat so that I can have d1.webapp.com d2.webapp.com d3.webapp.com etc. All hosted by the same tomcat instance without having to add aliases to the HOSTS element in the tomcat config file? I will be allowing new users to have thier own domain when they sign up and it will be a subdomain of the web app. I don't want to keep updating the hosts file for aliases and restarting tomcat though each time a new user signs up?

  • yui compressor maven plugin doesnt compress the js files

I am using yui compressor to compress the js files in my web app. I have configured the plugin as indicated on yui maven plugin site yui compressor maven plugin. This is the pom plugin conf <plugin> <groupId>net.sf.alchim</groupId> <artifactId>yuicompressor-maven-plugin</artifactId> <version>0.7.1</version> <executions> <execution> <phase>compile</phase> <goals> <goal>jslint</goal> <goal>compress</goal> </goals> </execution> </executions> <configuration> <failOnWarning>true</failOnWarning> <nosuffix>true</nosuffix> <force>true</force> <aggregations> <aggregation> <!-- remove files after aggregation (default: false) --> <removeIncluded>false</removeIncluded> <!-- insert new line after each concatenation (default: false) --> <insertNewLine>false</insertNewLine> <output>${project.basedir}/${webcontent.dir}/js/compressedAll.js</output> <!-- files to include, path relative to output's directory or absolute path--> <!--inputDir>base directory for non absolute includes, default to parent dir of output</inputDir--> <includes> <include>**/autocomplete.js</include> <include>**/calendar.js</include> <include>**/dialogs.js</include> <include>**/download.js</include> <include>**/folding.js</include> <include>**/jquery-1.4.2.min.js</include> <include>**/jquery.bgiframe.min.js</include> <include>**/jquery.loadmask.js</include> <include>**/jquery.printelement-1.1.js</include> <include>**/jquery.tablesorter.mod.js</include> <include>**/jquery.tablesorter.pager.js</include> <include>**/jquery.dialogs.plugin.js</include> <include>**/jquery.ui.autocomplete.js</include> <include>**/jquery.validate.js</include> <include>**/jquery-ui-1.8.custom.min.js</include> <include>**/languageDropdown.js</include> <include>**/messages.js</include> <include>**/print.js</include> <include>**/tables.js</include> <include>**/tabs.js</include> <include>**/uwTooltip.js</include> </includes> <!-- files to exclude, path relative to output's directory--> </aggregation> </aggregations> </configuration> <dependencies> <dependency> <groupId>rhino</groupId> <artifactId>js</artifactId> <scope>compile</scope> <version>1.6R5</version> </dependency> <dependency> <groupId>org.apache.maven</groupId> <artifactId>maven-plugin-api</artifactId> <version>2.0.7</version> <scope>provided</scope> </dependency> <dependency> <groupId>org.apache.maven</groupId> <artifactId>maven-project</artifactId> <version>2.0.7</version> <scope>provided</scope> </dependency><dependency> <groupId>net.sf.retrotranslator</groupId> <artifactId>retrotranslator-runtime</artifactId> <version>1.2.9</version> <scope>runtime</scope> </dependency> </dependencies> </plugin> And here is the log at compress time These will use the artifact files already in the core ClassRealm instead, to allow them to be included in PluginDescriptor.getArtifacts(). The link above uses version 1.1 and the plugin version I am using is 0.7.1. Is this going to make any diff. Can someone tell what is wrong here. PS: I have obfuscated some text in log to follow the compliance in my firm. So you may find it mismatching somewhere.

  • hibernate3-maven-plugin: entiries in different maven projects, hbm2ddl fails

    - by Mike
    I'm trying to put an entity in a different maven project. In the current project I have: @Entity public class User { ... private FacebookUser facebookUser; ... public FacebookUser getFacebookUser() { return facebookUser; } ... public void setFacebookUser(FacebookUser facebookUser) { this.facebookUser = facebookUser; } Then FacebookUser (in a different maven project, that's a dependency of a current project) is defined as: @Entity public class FacebookUser { ... @Id @GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.AUTO) public Long getId() { return id; } Here is my maven hibernate3-maven-plugin configuration: <plugin> <groupId>org.codehaus.mojo</groupId> <artifactId>hibernate3-maven-plugin</artifactId> <version>2.2</version> <executions> <execution> <phase>process-classes</phase> <goals> <goal>hbm2ddl</goal> </goals> </execution> </executions> <configuration> <components> <component> <name>hbm2ddl</name> <implementation>jpaconfiguration</implementation> </component> </components> <componentProperties> <ejb3>false</ejb3> <persistenceunit>Default</persistenceunit> <outputfilename>schema.ddl</outputfilename> <drop>false</drop> <create>true</create> <export>false</export> <format>true</format> </componentProperties> </configuration> </plugin> Here is the error I'm getting: org.hibernate.MappingException: Could not determine type for: com.xxx.facebook.model.FacebookUser, at table: user, for columns: [org.hibernate.mapping.Column(facebook_user)] I know that FacebookUser is on the classpath because if I make facebook user transient, project compiles fine: @Transient public FacebookUser getFacebookUser() { return facebookUser; }

  • Websphere 7 simple realm (like tomcat-users.xml)

    - by Heavy Bytes
I am trying to port a J2EE app from Tomcat to Websphere and I'm not too familiar with Websphere. The only problem I am having is authorization (I use basic-authentication in my web.xml). In Tomcat I use the tomcat-users.xml file to define my users/passwords and to what roles they belong. How do I do this "simply" in Websphere? When deploying the EAR to Websphere it also asks me to map my role from web.xml to a user or group. Do I have to set up some sort of realm? Custom user registry? Thanks. UPDATE: I configured a Standalone custom registry, however I can't get a log-in prompt for username/password. It works just fine in Tomcat, and it doesn't in Websphere. Code from web.xml <security-constraint> <web-resource-collection> <web-resource-name>basic-auth security</web-resource-name> <url-pattern>/*</url-pattern> </web-resource-collection> <auth-constraint> <role-name>HELLO_USER</role-name> </auth-constraint> <user-data-constraint>NONE</user-data-constraint> </security-constraint> <login-config> <auth-method>BASIC</auth-method> </login-config> <security-role> <role-name>HELLO_USER</role-name> </security-role>
