  • wx Menu disappears from frame when shown as a popup

    I'm trying to create a wx.Menu that will be shared between a popup (called on right-click), and a sub menu accessible from the frame menubar. The following code demonstrates the problem. If you open the "MENUsubmenu" from the menubar the item "asdf" is visible. If you right click on the frame content area, "asdf" will be visible from there as well... however, returning to the menubar, you will find that "MENUsubmenu" is vacant.   • Awesome-WM inside gnome-shell -> Get rid of top bar

    I am using awesome-wm now, and was trying to get it working with gnome-shell. I have basically followed those steps: http://awesome.naquadah.org/wiki/Quickly_Setting_up_Awesome_with_Gnome#Ubuntu_11.10 But now I have two bars, one at the bottom and one at the top. Is there any way to get rid of one of those (preferring top bar). If that is not possible, is there a way to load the gnome-shell widgets in the top bar?     I like very much global menu in previous versions of Ubuntu. But Unity is too slow for my Eee PC. So now I am looking for some alternative Desktop Environments or Distributions where there is global menu available. But at the same time there should be UbuntuOne service working too, as I use it pretty often. Could you, please, suggest what should I try out? I also use keyboard shortcuts very much and so I guess they should be configurable, and try not to use touchpad at all. So big icons like in gnome-shell and Unity are not a good option.

  • Add entries to Nautilus' right-click menu (copy, move to arbitrary directories)

    Assume I want to copy a file from /home/foo/bar/baz to /opt/quuz/dir1/option3. When I try it with Nautilus, first I have to open the correct directory, copy the file, go to the other directory and paste it there. I was thinking of a better way and old KDE3 versions of Konqueror came to mind. It was possible to right-click on a file. The context menu had an option for copying, moving the file to some default directories. Furthermore you could select any directory under /. So for the above action one would right click on a file, select /opt first, a list of subdirectories will open, select /opt/quuz and so on. Using GNOME there are only two possible values (home and desktop). Is there any way to insert more directories to this context menu in GNOME? Can I copy somehow the behaviour of Konqueror?

    I'm using URL rewriting to make my url http://example.com/foo/bar/ to http://example.com/index.php/foo/bar. I'm not linking the index.php/.. url anywhere, but for some reasons, some users arrives to the index.php url. In Google analytics, I have a lot of duplicates that are quite annoying to follow up the traffic. I've watched the Advanced filters but I'm struggling to make it works fine. Any regex and google analytics pro to help me out ?

  • Removing Menu Items from Window Tabs

    So you're working on your NetBeans Platform application and you notice that when you right-click on tabs in the predefined windows, e.g., the Projects window, you see a long list of popup menus. For whatever the reason is, you decide you don't want those popup menus. You right-click the application and go to the Branding dialog. There you uncheck the checkboxes that are unchecked below: As you can see above, you've removed three features, all of them related to closing the windows in your application. Therefore, "Close" and "Close Group" are now gone from the list of popup menus: But that's not enough. You also don't want the popup menus that relate to maximizing and minimizing the predefined windows, so you uncheck those checkboxes that relate to that: And, hey, now they're gone too: Next, you decide to remove the feature for floating, i.e., undocking the windows from the main window: And now they're gone too: However, even when you uncheck all the remaining checkboxes, as shown here... You're still left with those last few pesky popup menu items that just will not go away no matter what you do: The reason for the above? Those actions are hardcoded into the action list, which is a bug. Until it is fixed, here's a handy workaround: Set an implementation dependency on "Core - Windows" (core.window). That is, set a dependency and then specify that it is an implementation dependency, i.e., that you'll be using an internal class, not one of the official APIs. In one of your existing modules, or in a new one, make sure you have (in addition to the above) a dependency on Lookup API and Window System API.     I'm fairly excited for Unity, as it looks like a promising new direction for Ubuntu. However, I do have a concern - will it be possible to use Unity without the global menu? I have my window manager set to focus-follows-mouse/sloppy focus, and find the productivity gains to be immense. Sloppy focus is incompatible, however, with global menus, as it is possible for the focus to change while you move from window to menu. Will Unity support an option to use window menus while still using Unity?

  • No lock screen when the right click menu is open

    I just found that the lock screen on my laptop does not show up when the right click menu is open. I discovered this when I pressed the right click button accidentally while closing the lid and the laptop went to sleep, but the lock screen never showed up when I opened the lid again. I am also not able to lock the system manually(with ctrl+alt+L) when the right click menu is open. Is this by design or is it a bug? I would assume that the screen should be locked automatically when the computer goes to sleep, but this doesn't seem to be the case. Anyone have any suggestions? My specs are: Dell Vostro 1500, Ubuntu 12.10

    Just started out with Orchard and trying to just make pages and menus. I'm running into an issue where on my home page my menu shows: Home, Fruit, Vegetable, Carrot. I want it to show just Home, Fruit, Vegetable and when I click the respective item it adds the proper tabs. It DOES do it with Banana. ie: When I click Fruit, it shows Banana in the menu. But it always shows Carrot for some reason! I have the following setup. Navigation -Main Menu --Home --Fruit --Vegetable -Fruit Menu --Banana -Vegetable Menu --Carrot Widgits > Navigation > Main Menu, Fruit Menu, Vegetable Menu (Fruit and Vegetable Menus are in their own respective layers.) Path Examples: /Fruit, /Fruit/Banana, /Vegetable, /Vegetable/Carrot Thanks in advance.

  • Ubuntu 13.10 - Unity menu very slow and unresponsive

    I have a HP G62 laptop with Intel Pentium processor and ATI graphics. Since upgrade to Ubuntu 13.10, my Unity menu is very slow and unresponsive. I am using proprietary driver for my graphics For example, I'm switching between Gimp and Chrome. When I switch to Gimp, I will be stuck with Chrome menu at the top of the screen. It is really annoying and it is just one of many bugs that came up with 13.10. Any ideas? Should I just revert to default driver?

  • Flashing task bar(firefox) in lxde panel and ubuntu internal error

    I have upgraded from ubuntu10.04 to 12.04 and installed lxde. The panel is now customized according to my convenience. The problem is there was a default checked option for "Flash when there is any window requiring attention" in Task bar(window list) and now when I run firefox, at times the concerned bar in the panel window list starts flashing but it is not clear exactly why at that moment firefox requires my attention. Normally this happens after I download some files (pdf files) and keep using firefox. The only solution I have found is to quit firefox and even after that I receive this message "Sorry, ubuntu12.04 has experienced an internal error. If you notice further problems, try restarting the computer." As usual I report the detailed message to ubuntu as suggested and finally restart the computer. So there are two problems, first, exactly why firefox needs my attention at times and second, why immediately after this, ubuntu experiences an internal error. Please suggest what I should do.

Is it possible to inject the field without touching the edit.php? Is there anywhere a good tutorial about the JForm api? Is a system-plugin the right kind, or could it be a content plugin, or should it even be a component?

  • Fonts in menu are larger than they should be under Awesome WM

    I upgraded to oneiric ocelot, running awesome wm. Everything works, more or less, fine but one thing I've noticed is that now my menu fonts and my menu symbols are larger than I'd like them to be. I used to set them in font settings, but now (for one I don't even know where font settings are anymore, I tried gnome-tweak-tool) the font-settings are gone? Surely I'm missing something. My prime example is the program evince whose symbols are ginormous. Any hints how to tweak it?

  • Why is this happening with the wine menu?

    Some of the items in the Wine menu are given a prefix that is their entire path. The items that don't have the long prefix seem to work fine, but those that do, don't respond to the Properties button or double-click in the menu editor. They take a lot of space, and look ugly, but I can't rename them. I've tried editing their associated files, there doesn't appear to be anything different about them to the ones that are working fine. They weren't always like that - it just happened after an upgrade one day and it's been like that ever since.

  • Tab Bar disappears below the bottom of the screen

    Hi, In my application I'm using a Navigation Controller to push one view that loads a Tab Bar Controller and a custom Navigation Bar as well. The problem is that the Tab Bar disappears below the bottom of the screen, and I don't know what's causing the problem. If I load a simple Tab Bar in the next view, it positions itself correctly... but what I need is a Tab Bar Controller, and in that case the Tab Bar disappears below the bottom. I have tried changing the view and size properties of the Tab Bar, but that did not solve the problem. I also realised that the images and text of the tabs don't show (I have set up the "favourites" and "contacts" images and text, and they are big enough and should be visible on the top side of the tab, but they are not). Both tabs work perfectly, by the way. There is an image here. I load the Tab Bar with the following code: - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; myTabBarController = [[UITabBarController alloc] init]; SettingsViewController* tab1 = [[SettingsViewController alloc] init]; AboutViewController* tab2 = [[AboutViewController alloc] init]; NSArray* controllers = [NSArray arrayWithObjects:tab1, tab2, nil]; myTabBarController.viewControllers = controllers; [self.view insertSubview:myTabBarController.view belowSubview:myNavigationBar]; } It doesn't matter if I remove the Navigation Bar or not. I have tested using this instead: [self.view addSubview:myTabBarController.view]; ... forgetting about the Navigation Bar, but the Tab Bar still goes under the bottom. I don't know if the problem is in one of my NIB files or in how I load the view (although I do this as I read in the Apple's SDK documentation). Any ideas? Another question would be... do you know how could I change the title of my Navigation Bar when I select the second tab? I imagine I would have to do it in viewDidLoad in AboutViewController.m, would that be correct? Thanks for you time!

  • I installed Ubuntu alongside Windows but I can't see it in Windows' boot menu

    I have a second machine where Ubuntu 12.04 LTS and Debian Squeeze are installed on the same HD and when I boot, I have this grub menu where I can choose which partition I will used. It works perfectly! But in my Windows environment that's another story. Now after making almost everything that I know, to make it work along Windows 7, there is no entry in the boot menu of Windows (I know, Ubuntu use grub but anyway there is surely a way to fix it, access it?). Why there is no Ubuntu entry? Why the installation gave me no error while I have this strange situation of having a "ghost OS" called Ubuntu installed somewhere in my second HD in a partition made especially for it and not being able to access it, starting it, having it working? Am I wrong? If I am, what's the problem? If I'm not, what's the need of Wubi?

  • Expand Drupal menu by default

    For the menu system, is there a way to set one of the menu items to be expanded by default? I can't get my home menu item to be expanded on the homepage (at the least), and I'd like it to be expanded whenever one of the other ones isn't. I'm using Drupal 5, and the Taxonomy Menu module. Taxonomy Menu is pretty good with 95% of my pages, but some are static "About Us" type pages, which I'd like to have the home menu as default for, and then there's the homepage.
