  • Sync iPhone applications in iTunes

    Suppose I have one the one hand one iTunes library on a PC used to sync Outlook contacts and calendar plus on the other hand one iTunes library on a Mac that syncs music, podcasts, apps, ringtones, etc. Both libraries are based on iTunes 9.0.2. It turns out that the iTunes library on the PC always tries to sync apps and ringtones as well. Unfortunately, this boils down to deleting apps and ringtones from the iPhone because the apps are not part of the iTunes library on the PC. After unchecking the checkbox to sync apps and ringtones and plugging the iPhone into the Mac the checkbox is also unchecked on the Mac. It seems as if the settings for syncing apps and ringtones are stored on the iPhone rather than in the particular iTunes library. Whenever syncing apps and ringtones is active on one machine it is also active on the other and vice versa. How can I make the PC ignore apps and ringtones and only sync contacts and calendar?

  • How do I sync Dreamweaver site definitions across 2 computers?

    I use Dreamweaver on my laptop and Desktop PC and frequently change between them. I keep all my sites synced using Syncplicity (similar to Dropbox, which indecently I also use) I want my site definitions to be synced across the two computers. If I add a new site on one computer I want it to appear on the other one. I know I can export all sites on one computer and then get Syncplicity to sync the files to the other computer at which point I can import them. However this relies on me remembering to do this each time I add a new site, and it's also quite time consuming. As far as I can tell, Dreamweaver (at least upto CS4- not sure about CS5) stupidly stores the site definitions in the registry. I really don't know why they do this- if they stored it in xml files then I could easily sync the information. Does anyone know if what I am asking is possible?

It works pretty good, except sometimes I check in code that I want to sync but they don't compile and it interferes with other people on the team working on the same project. I don't want to use branch. It wouldn't make sense to branch every night when I head home from office.

  • How do I sync beyond 30 days with BES

    BES only syncs the last 30 days worth of calendar appointments. I need to change this to sync more than 30 days, e.g. 6 months for example. I read a workaround which involves disabling the wireless sync, syncing with the Blackberry Desktop software and then re-enabling the wireless sync. This would not work, as the 30 day setting would still apply to calendar appointments going forwards. How can I set BES up to sync more than 30 days worth of calendar appointments?

  • Sync services not actually syncing

    I'm attempting to sync a SQL Server CE 3.5 database with a SQL Server 2008 database using MS Sync Services. I am using VS 2008. I created a Local Database Cache, connected it with SQL Server 2008 and picked the tables I wanted to sync. I selected SQL Server Tracking. It modified the database for change tracking and created a local copy (SDF) of the data. I need two way syncing so I created a partial class for the sync agent and added code into the OnInitialized() to set the SyncDirection for the tables to Bidirectional. I've walked through with the debugger and this code runs. Then I created another partial class for cache server sync provider and added an event handler into the OnInitialized() to hook into the ApplyChangeFailed event. This code also works OK - my code runs when there is a conflict. Finally, I manually made some changes to the server data to test syncing. I use this code to fire off a sync: var agent = new FSEMobileCacheSyncAgent(); var syncStats = agent.Synchronize(); syncStats seems to show the count of the # of changes I made on the server and shows that they were applied. However, when I open the local SDF file none of the changes are there. I basically followed the instructions I found here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc761546%28SQL.105%29.aspx and here: http://keithelder.net/blog/archive/2007/09/23/Sync-Services-for-SQL-Server-Compact-Edition-3.5-in-Visual.aspx It seems like this should "just work" at this point, but the changes made on the server aren't in the local SDF file. I guess I'm missing something but I'm just not seeing it right now. I thought this might be because I appeared to be using version 1 of Sync Services so I removed the references to Microsoft.Synchronization.* assemblies, installed the Sync framework 2.0 and added the new version of the assemblies to the project. That hasn't made any difference. Ideas? Edit: I wanted to enable tracing to see if I could track this down but the only way to do that is through a WinForms app since it requires entries in the app.config file (my original project was a class library). I created a WinForms project and recreated everything and suddenly everything is working. So apparently this requires a WinForm project for some reason? This isn't really how I planned on using this - I had hoped to kick off syncing through another non-.NET application and provide the UI there so the experience was a bit more seemless to the end user. If I can't do that, that's OK, but I'd really like to know if/how to make this work as a class library project instead.

  • Disable iPhone Yahoo contacts sync

    Every time I plug in my iPhone, iTunes pops up a dialog asking for sync with Yahoo contacts. after I cancel, it pops up again, for 4-5 more times. But the 'Sync Yahoo!Address Book contacts' option is disabled in iTunes and I definitely don't want this to happen. If there any way to tell iTunes to stop trying to sync with Yahoo?

  • Undo Google Sync in chrome

    I didn't know that my google account wasn't in sync with my chrome for the last couple of months and now that I have link again, the restored record is several months old. Now, that I've lost all my recent bookmarks and all other stuff...is there anything or anyway so I could revert the Google sync so I can get my bookmarks back? Update 1 I have found that under C:\Users\Profile_Name\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default there is a file named Bookmarks.bak that holds the old state of my bookmarks before the sync. Update 2 Bookmarks is the file that holds the current(after sync) bookmark list. I replaced Bookmarks with Bookmarks.bak and restarted chrome, but still chrome isn't fetching information from the updated file. So, I have my old bookmark information, but how to restore it in chrome. Update 3 : solved I still couldn't figure out why replacing the bookmarks file didn't work and aparently that's the only solution available on web. I reinstalled everything and then copied the old bookmarks file. Then I got my bookmarks back again. Lession learned : Check regularly if google sync is working.

What is best practice out there to sync time for all windows and unix boxes to sync with time server or domain controller. Windows time service is not made for high accuracy less then 10 secs.   • What questions do I need to ask for a database sync?

    I am currently helping to implement an RFID inventory management system for my company. The software that we are locked into has been at best buggy and unreliable. The software provider is now rolling out a major release. My problem is that the new software release keeps a local database on each machine that then syncs to a master database online. According to the software company we cannot do a scaled rollout because of data corruption issues between the software releases. What questions can I be asking and what sort of testing can I do on my end to make sure this software works? Any suggestions would be very helpful.

I want to sync the database from desktop to remote server and also from remote server to desktop but i have no idea that how it does. I have searched for and found similar cases (relating to ubuntu 12.10), but most of those cases involved ppa's, and I don't use any ppa's. Help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Part of that project meant moving the company's PeopleSoft applications (Financials and HR Modules as well as Custom Time & Expense module) to a converged infrastructure.     The company ran a proof of concept with four different converged architectures before deciding upon Exadata and Exalogic as the platform of choice.   Performance combined with High availability for running mission-critical payroll processes drove this decision.  During the testing on Exadata and Exalogic Allegis applied a particular (11-F) tax update in production environment. What job ran for roughly six hours completed in less than 1.5 hours.   • Lerping to a center point while in motion

    I have an enemy that initially flies in a circular motion, while facing away from the center point. This is how I achieve that: position.Y = (float)(Math.Cos(timeAlive * MathHelper.PiOver4) * radius + origin.Y); position.X = (float)(Math.Sin(timeAlive * MathHelper.PiOver4) * radius + origin.X); if (timeAlive < 5) { angle = (float)Math.Atan((0 - position.X) / (0 - position.Y)); if (0 < position.Y) RotationMatrix = Matrix.CreateRotationX(MathHelper.PiOver2) * Matrix.CreateRotationZ(-1 * angle); else RotationMatrix = Matrix.CreateRotationX(MathHelper.PiOver2) * Matrix.CreateRotationZ(MathHelper.Pi - angle); } That part works just fine. After five seconds of this, I want the enemy to turn inward, facing the center point. However, I've been trying to lerp to that point, since I don't want it to simply jump to the new rotation. It seems like it's going to at first, but then it just sort of skips around. How can I achieve what I want here?
