  • How to load the whole content of a page into another window?

    I'm building a Dashboard and for some stupid reasons my boss wants to load it in a frame on the homepage (yes a frame, he still lives in the 1990s). Anyway, sometimes the dashboard needs some room so that it can show all charts correctly, so I want to add a feature to load the content of the dashboard into a new window. The problem is that, if the user has had some interaction with the dashboard, it will contain modal dialogs, new images, etc... so I want to load all the dashboard content into a new window without reloading its content. Of course, the user should be able to continue browsing the dashboard without problems. How can I do that? I'm using jQuery as my JavaScript framework.

  • How to disable Chrome themes/skins and get default window decorations

    Is there a way to disable Chrome's custom window skinning such that it lets the OS draw standard window title bars, borders, etc, in the style I have configured the OS to draw such things with? I didn't spend all that time with the control panel setting a window style that pleases me just to have applications decide that they know better than me how I want my windows to look. As a practical matter, having each application decide for itself which color cues to use to show "this is the active window" becomes very confusing. Alternatively, is there a tool somewhere that reads the Windows 7 color and window style settings and produces a Chrome theme that imitates them?

    I've had an issue for the past few months, but I rarely restart so it hasn't caused too much trouble. Basically, when I start up my Mac (iMac10,1 - 3.06GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, OS X 10.6.3) everything proceeds as usual until I reach the login window. The login window displays normally, but keyboard and mouse input seem to be ignored. This condition persists for around 5 minutes at which time everything goes back to normal. While the login window is frozen my second monitor appears entirely blue, the second monitor receives a background as soon as the login window becomes responsive. If I startup while holding SHIFT the problem still occurs, but the freeze is much shorter. Looking through my logs I see no activity during the time that the login window is frozen. I've attempted to repair disk permissions, and gone through every possible maintenance option in Cocktail.

  • Maximizing after moving RDC window between different size monitors

    My Win7 system has two monitors of different sizes. When I open a Remote Desktop Connection on one monitor set to use full screen, both the RDC window and the remote system's desktop fills the monitor. If I then move the window onto my second monitor (1-Restore Down button to make it movable; 2-Drag window to other monitor; 3-Maximize button to fill monitor) the RDC window fills the monitor, but the remote system's desktop remains the same size it was before. Thus, if I move from the larger to the smaller monitor I have scrollbars to see the whole remote desktop, while if I move from the smaller to the larger monitor the remote desktop occupies only a portion of the monitor. My workaround is to close the RDC window completely then re-establish it on the other monitor. Is there a way to avoid this overhead and just resize the remote desktop to fit?

  • Application window as polygon texture?

    Is there a way, or method, to have some application rendered as texture in 3D scene on some polygon, and also have full interactivity with it? I'm talking about Windows platform, and maybe OpenGL but I guess it doesn't matter is it OGL or DX. For example: I run Calculator using WINAPI functions (preferably hidden, not showing on desktop) and I want to render it inside 3D scene on some polygon but still be able to type or click buttons and have it respond. My idea to realize this is to have WINAPI take screenshot (or render it to memory if possible) of that Calculator and pass it to OpenGL as texture for each frame (I'm experimenting with SDL through pygame) and for mouse interactivity to use coordination translation and calculate where on application window it would act, and then use WINAPI functions such as SetCursorPos to set cursor ant others to simulate click or something else. I haven't found any tutorials with topic similar to this one. Am I on a right track? Is there better way to do this if possible at all?

    Hi, 1) I have a header jpeg image that spans a width of 996px that has a square logo to the left of this header. My question is that I would like to use this square logo section only and place a ahref tag so that when the user hover's over this section only, the cursor changes to a hand pointer and the user will be redirected back to the landing page. Any assistance on this would be great. 2) On this same image, I would also like to place two buttons with rollover effects, so when the user hovers over the buttons, the rollover effect takes control and then would like these buttons to also point to a href url. Again, any help on this would be appreciated. Thanks.

  • Need help making row of buttons consistent

    I'm making my first website, and I'm trying to make variable-sized buttons so they'll render correctly on low resolution (read: mobile) browsers. Currently I just have the usual rollover image solution (185 pixels wide by 37 tall if anybody cares), but when I preview the site in low resolution it looks, predictably enough, like complete crap (more specifically they don't have room so they arrange vertically instead of horizontally and take up a huge amount of screen real estate). Semi-related, is there a way to overlay text on a button without saving separate images, each with the correct text? Just using a single template for buttons and then deciding what text goes on it as it's needed? tl;dr: I'm trying to get a horizontal lineup of buttons for navigating my website, but I'm a noob and I can't do it right without your generous assistance.

    I'm adding some custom buttons to my forms in MS Access, but somehow I can't make them work. In buttons properties Event tab I've changed 'On Click' event to call 'Event procedure'. Then in VBasic I'm selecting my button and from what I know this code should give me prompt, and if Yos is selected the form should close. But when I click my buttons simply nothing happens. Am I doing something wrong ?     So, i have this problem with some checkboxes. First of all let me tell you about the "project" itself. It's a webform, the user must complete it and check some checkboxes and radio buttons depending on what he would like to purchase. First of them are 2 radio bullets, numbered 1 and 2, and represent the quantity of the product he wants to purchase. Next to those are about 5 checkboxes that represent the color of the product, it doesn't matter how many of them are, the thing is ... i want, when a user selects 1 at the radio buttons, only 1 checkbox to be active, if he selects 2 then only 2 checkboxes to be available to check. So.. could someone help me? I thought of jQuery but i don't know... There are two divs, the first div with the id of let's say #radioButtons has 2 radio buttons, and the second div has the rest of the checkboxes.

At present the translation list is just a string (comma-separated list) but I'd like to change it to have clickable buttons. I had a play around adding buttons to the cell view without too much success but my only experience with custom cells has been using specific positioning so I'm unsure as to how to achieve a dynamic list of buttons (varying widths) within a cell.     I'm getting crazy right now. I just installed the latest android adt bundle from http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html. It's version v21.0.0. Now I wanted to test my tablet app (designed for 10.1" xlarge mdpi) in the emulator, but I cannot get any software buttons for home/back/... Here's my device configuration. This config is afterwards assigned to the avd. http://i.stack.imgur.com/Q7xvP.png Hardware-buttons don't work as well (you cannot set hardware buttons in a tablet-like emulator). The target api is level 15 (android 4.0.3). I searched stackoverflow, but didn't find any help concerning the latest version of android. Since then, "some" of my applications are showing menu bar within the window, like this: Some windows like Emacs, vlc are showing such menu bar, while others are working fine (nautilus, terminal still have menu bar on the unity top panel).     While working on a tile-based map I figured it would be a good idea if I would only render what the player sees on the game window, but then it occurred to me that SFML could already be optimized enough to know when it doesn't have to render those things. Let's say I draw a 30x30 squared maps (A medium one) but the player only sees a bunch of them, not entirely. Would SFML automatically hide what the player doesn't see, or should I hide it myself?

    I would like to open one or more Nautilus windows from the command line or a script at certain positions on my screen/desktop while in Gnome3. I could do this in Ubuntu 11.10 by specifying the geometry. For example, to open the window at the bottom right corner from the command line I could use: nautilus --geometry 600x475-0-0 ~/mystuff But using Gnome3 the geometry option is ignored, or overriden. Is there a way to make this work?
