  • C# Script to get modified date from URL directory

    Hello, I am fairly new to C# and was hoping for some assistance. I currently use Visual Studio 2008. What I am wanting to do is the following: I have a server (\backupserv) that runs a RoboCopy script nightly to backup directories from 18 other servers. These directories are then copied down to \backup in directories of their own: Example: It copies down "Dir1", "Dir2", and "Dir3" from Server1 into \backupserv\backups\Server1 into their own directories (\backupserv\backups\Server1\Dir1, \backupserv\backups\Server1\Dir2, and \backupserv\backups\Server1\Dir3). It does this for all 18 servers nightly between 12am and 6am. The RoboCopy runs via schedule task. A log file is created in \backupserv\backups\log and is named server1-dir1.log, server1-dir2.log, etc. What I am wanting to accomplish in C# is the ability to have a 'report' showing the modified date of each text log file. To do this I need to browse the \backupserv\backups\log directory, determine the modified date, and have a report displayed (prefer HTML if possible). Along with the modified date I will be showing more information, but that is later. Again, I am fairly new to C#, so, please be gentle. I was referred here by another programmer, and was told I would get some assistance. Thanks in advance. If I have missed any detail please let me know and I will do my best to answer.

  • directory traversal in Java using different regular and enhanced for loops

    I have this code to print out all directories and files. I tried to use recursive method call in for loop. With enhanced for loop, the code prints out all the directories and files correctly. But with regular for loop, the code does not work.   • preg_match to find the current directory in a URL

    I'm trying to detect the current section of a site that a user is viewing by checking for the final directory in the URL. I'm using a PHP and regex to do it and I think I'm close but unfortunately not quite there yet.     I have installed encfs and started using it to secure all my personal & office data and it was working absolutely fine until 2 hours back. The setup is like this. I have a folder in Copy folder called OfficeData which gets synchronized with my Copy folder When I login into the system I use the command encfs ~/Copy/OfficeData ~/Documents/OfficeData Once my work is over I dismount with the command fusermount -u ~/Documents/OfficeData All this data get synchronized with my desktop and with my mobile phone (as a backup) Today when I mounted, the folder got mounted by no directories and files present in that folder. I was worried and read man encfs which gave me to run the command encfs -v -f ~/Copy/OfficeData ~/Documents/OfficeData 2> encfs-OfficeData-report.txt.     Let's say I have a collection of PDF files with the following paths: /some/path/pdfs/birds/duck.pdf /some/path/pdfs/birds/goose.pdf /some/path/pdfs/insects/fly.pdf /some/path/pdfs/insects/mosquito.pdf What I'd like to do is generate thumbnails for each PDF that respect the relative path structure, and output to another location, i.e.: /another/path/thumbnails/birds/duck.png /another/path/thumbnails/birds/goose.png /another/path/thumbnails/insects/fly.png /another/path/thumbnails/insects/mosquito.png I'd like this to be done in Ant. I have access to ant-contrib (just installed the "latest", which is 1.0b3) and I'm using Ant 1.8.0. I think I can make something work using the <for> task, <fileset>s and <mapper>s, but I am having trouble putting it all together.     Hello, VS C# 2008 SP1 I have a created a small application that records and plays audio. However, my application needs to save the wave file to the application data directory on the users computer. The mciSendString takes a C style string as a parameter and has to be in 8.3 format. However, my problem is I can't get it to save. And what is strange is sometime it does and sometimes it doesn't. Howver, most of the time is failes. However, if I save directly to the C drive it works first time everything. I have used 3 different methods that I have coded below.   • Controling virtualbox internet access?

    I am finally going through the process of moving my XP into a vbox (host linux). The thing is that I am migrating a virtually clean install. So aside from the occasional antivirus scan, I want to make sure that my XP is not sending malware data (keystoke.logs, spam etc. ) out silently ( and thus having picked up some virus ). To that end I want to limit XP to contacting my LAN and a few internet sites. ( mainly sites that require proprietary windows only software to access, AV sites and Windows update ). I want XP to only access preapproved addresses. If it is trying to contact a nonapproved address, I want it somehow logged and access restricted until I allow access. I also don't want to have to decide whether to allow access to a site at my leisure. To keeps things clear let me give an example: I start my vbox/XP ( which I call MYXP) running on my linux box ( called MYLINUX connecting to the net through a linksys wrt54g ) and connects via samba to my LAN ( since my LAN seems to be possessed of every evil thing, it's address is 192.168.666. ). At the moment my configuration is set so that I allow MYXP to access 192.168.666 and www.MYANTIVIRUS_UPDATES.com and www.MS_UPDATES.com. Then on the VM I start a program which tries to make a connection to www.playmygame.com . www.playmygame.com is on my preapproved list so the connection goes through. Later I check attempted accesses and discover that it also tried to connect to www.mygame_high_scores.com I figure this is OK so I add www.mygame_high_scores.com to my approved list. Later, I again check address and discover that my VM/XP tried to access www.mygame_steals_your_identity.com. I do some checking and discover the address is registered to someone in Kiev, Nigeria. Since this doesn't sound kosher to me, I replace the MYXP VM with one that was backed up before I installed mygame. I remove www.playmygame.com and www.mygame_high_scores.com from my access list for MYXP. It should acomplish this with little overheard. When I am not running the VM ideally it should not have any overhead. Suggestions?

    I am writing a program for a phone directory. The user inputs a name and the program searches the file and either outputs the number or an error because the persons name is not in the file. The program should also ask the user if they would like to continue using the program and look up another number. So far runs and asks for the name and then prints the error message that I put in place saying that the name is not in the database.   • dijit/form/Select broken in Internet Explorer using Esri Javascript 3.7

    After developing a web map app in Firefox, I tested my code in Internet Explorer (company standard) to discover that the dijit/form/Select is misbehaving using the latest Esri JavaScript v3.7. The issue I am seeing is that the Select will not update/change from the first option in the list when using v3.7. If I bump the version down to 3.6, it works as expected. I've tried IE browser modes from 7 to 10 and am experiencing the same behavior between all of them. Can someone confirm they are experiencing the same thing?     I have a very weird problem.. I really do hope someone has an answer because I wouldn't know where else to ask. I am writing a cgi application in C++ which is executed by Apache and outputs HTML code. I am compressing the HTML output myself - from within my C++ application - since my web host doesn't support mod_deflate for some reason. I tested this with Firefox 2, Firefox 3, Opera 9, Opera 10, Google Chrome, Safari, IE6, IE7, IE8, even wget.. It works with ANYTHING except IE8. IE8 just says "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage", with no information whatsoever. I know it's because of the compression only because it works if I disable it. Do you know what I'm doing wrong?     Hello all, I am writing a server app (broadcaster) and a client (relayer). Several relayers can connect to the broadcaster at the same time, send information and the broadcaster will redirect the message to a matching relayer (for example relayer1 sends to broadcaster who sends to relayer43, relayer2 - broadcaster - relayer73...) The server part is working as I have tested it with a telnet client and although its at this point only an echo server it works. Both relayer and broadcaster sit on the same server so I am using AF_UNIX sockets, both files are in different folders though.     I've just deployed a previously (on my local IIS) working MVC4 app to IIS 7.5 on the dev server. After tweaking this and that - one knows how these things get forgotten - the app finally launches, but shows a directory listing of the app root. Clicking on most links there works, opening the directory listing of the sub-directory. Elmah logs no errors and /elmah.asd also gives a 404. The site has an appropriate localhost binding in the hosts file. I can find nothing wrong. MVC is installed on the server, as another MCV app works fine.
