• Working with WebKit on Windows

  Hello, I want to use the WebKit engine in my Win32 application. I can't find any documentation on the official site, or anywhere else. I know it uses COM, but I can't find any documentation about how to use the thing. I know there are multiple WebKit ports for windows. There is the Apple port, to use it you need Safari, there is the Google Chromium port, there is a Cairo port and there is a Qt port. I'll stick to the Apple port for now. Any hints, links? Thanks

• Is is better to store serialized data or raw html in mysql?

  I de-normalized my database, since the application was crawling otherwise, and Im storing a list of categories for each item in the DB as a raw html version, and simply echoing it out in my design. Each category is actually a link, which is include a tag. Naturally, this is abit of a pain, especially if I want to change the look of how the category links are displayed, since I gotta update all the old cached entries. What if I were to store this data as a serialized array instead, and simply unserialize it, and then apply formatting to it in php. Would there be a significant performance decrease over simply echoing out the raw html?

  What are the usual patterns for bidirectional communication between a client and a server in a wlan environment. How is it possible for the server to push data to a mobile client over wlan after a connection has been established. Lets say I have a webservice running on a server and the moblie cients in the wlan can use this webservice. Now the question is how can the server invoke methods at the client, or directly send data to the client. How is this handled usually? I would apriciate some links to read about this topic. Is this a common problem or is it not that easy to solve? Cheers

• multidimensional vector rotation and angle computation -- how?

  Input: two multidimensional (for example dim=8) vectors a and b. I need to find out the "directed" angle (0-2*Pi, not 0-Pi) between those vectors a and b. And if they are not parallel I need to rotate vector b in plane a,b by "directed" angle L. If they are parallel, plane does not matter, but angle of rotation is still the same L. For 2d and 3d this is quite easy, but for more dimensions I am lost, I didn't find anything on google, and I prefer using some already proved&tested equations (avoiding errors introduced by my calculations :-D). Thank you in advance for tips, links, etc. Edit: dimension of the space is the same as dimension of the vectors.

  Has anyone spent any time comparing the various Objective C bridges and associated Cocoa wrappers for Mono? I want to port an existing C# application to run on OS X. Ideally I'd run the application on Mono, and build a native Cocoa UI for it. I'm wondering which bridge would be the best choice.   Hey, I need a regular expression to solve the following problem (links to similar problems is also appreciated, related tutorials etc.): __some_words_a_b___ => __some words a b___ ____ => ____ So I want underscores between words to be replaced with space and keep leading and trailing underscores. I found this: ^[ \t]+|[ \t]+$ and I guess it most be something like that. I will use it in jQuery, Java (stdlibs) and maybe XSLT. Addition: The sentences do not necessarily start with underscores or ends with underscores. It is also possible that a sentence ain't containing underscores at all. Best regards Lasse Espeholt

  There are plenty of programming languages out there, as you all may know. I am primarily looking for a list of programming languages WITH some very neat proof of concepts. I would really like to learn a new language, but whenever I dive into something new and popular, it isn't what I expected. Any tutorial out there will give you code, small examples, but won't show you the true power of the language. I am looking for examples that run entirely on the language that it is exemplifying. For example, If I said C#, I could possibly show you a complete C# app with backend queries, reports, tables, all with a nice interface. It would be completely reliant on the language that is provided, so no supporting languages. I understand that most languages are integrated with other languages in order to provide a richer application. Any links, charts, websites that may reflect this request is appreciated.

• Source code annotation tool

  I'm looking for a tool with which I can annotate source code. I have some 3rd party source code (JavaScript) I need to understand and I don't want to change it (add inline comments) so that line numbers can stay intact (for communication with others), I can avoid accidentally changing something and my annotations stand out compared to the authors comments. Normally I would print the whole thing out an scribble on it, but the code is too long for that and I need to share it per email. I would be great if one could do some like that including being able to create "links" between so places in the code, possibly even visually with a lines or arrows.

  What is the practice to pass arguments from HTML to jQuery events function.   Hi, i just lunch my web site i used the asp.net routing technology on it, and its work fine in my localhost but when i moved the project to the hosting server(Godaddy.com) its just work fine when there is no virtual sub directories like this(havebreak.com) but when u click on this link (havebreak.com/Registration/) or any other links that contain a virtual sub-directories its give Object reference not set to an instance of an object error on the profile object if (!Profile.IsAnonymous) Line 18: mlvRegistratioin.ActiveViewIndex = 1; i check my IIS settings and found it using the "Integrated pipeline" as recommended (at least at my knowledge), i checked the httpModules and httpHandlers tags under the system.webServer (since my hosting plan use the IIS7) and under the normal tag and every thing is fine then i used the url-rewriting instead of URL-Routing and the same problem exist and i notice that the session also not working in the virtual sub-directories too and by the way the ASP.NET routing work fine with my site its just the profile and session objects that not workin any help will be appreciated

  I was wondering if anyone knew of a great example of using the MVVC pattern for a Silverlight application that does not utilise a data grid? Most of the examples I have read see links below and books such as Pro WPF and Silverlight MVVM by Gary Hall use a silverlight application with a datagrid. Don't get me wrong, these are all great examples.   I would love to get a definitive answer or a glossary that defines the data returned from the Facebook ads api adcampaignstats. Specifically the difference between the actions and inline_actions. • How to display configurable product in each color in product listing?

  I have a configurable product which is available in many different colors and sizes. I want the configurable product to appear once for every color. My idea is to assign one simple product of the configurable product in every color to the category of the configurable product. Then I want to change the listing, so that the (colored) simple product links to it's master product (the configurable one). The other way would be, to just assign the configurable product to a category and then list it multiple times with different colors. But I think this would be to complicated.

  I have Muttiple sequence alignment (clustal) file and i want to read this file and arrange sequences in a such a way that in looks more clear and precise in order. I am doing this from biopython using AlignIO object.   From the documentation: os.path.realpath(path) Return the canonical path of the specified filename, eliminating any symbolic links encountered in the path (if they are supported by the operating system). When I invoke this with an extant file's name, I get the path to it: /home/myhome/myproject. When I invoke this with a 'nonsense.xxx' string argument, I still get a path to /home/myhome/myproject/nonsense.xxx. This is a little inconsistent because it looks like nonsense.xxx is taken to be a directory not a file (though it is neither: it does not exist). When I invoke this with a null string file name, I still get a path to /home/myhome/myproject. How can I account for this behaviour when the documentation says so little about realpath()? (I am using Python 2.5.) Edit: Somebody suggested a way to test if files exist. My concern is not to test if files exist. My concern is to account for behaviour.

• PHP Extension using libtidy compiles, but does not load

  I wrote an extension in C++ that uses libtidy, and it runs perfectly under PHP when I compile PHP --with-tidy. However, it would be nice to have the extension run on a vanilla PHP. When I try to use the extension, I get something like: PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library 'extension.so': undefined symbol: tidyCleanAndRepair in Unknown on line 0 and the extension is not loaded. Obviously, the official tidy extension works fine. I have the relevant libtidy development packages installed on the system, and it compiles+links without a problem. I have tried to look through the code for the tidy extension, but it is a huge mass of macros - copying pieces at random felt like cargo code. Besides linking to the library with PHP_ADD_LIBRARY_WITH_PATH(tidy, $TIDY_LIBDIR, TIDY_SHARED_LIBADD), Is there a PHP extension or C statement that fixes this error? Thanks in advance!!

  i would like to know what the rootPanel (which is in the entryClass) exactly is and how gwt loads the java code into the appname.html file via rootpanel. what happens there exactly? where is the connection between the rootpanel and the html file. i could not find any side which explains this process in a detail. the only thing i know i that all the created panels are div-elements. it would be very helpfulf if somebody could explain it or send some good links to websites which are explaining this issue. thx!
