  Hi, I'm trying to get the url portion of the following string: url(images/ui-bg_highlight-soft_75_cccccc_1x100.png) So the required part if images/ui-bg_highlight-soft_75_cccccc_1x100.png. Currently I've got this: url\((?<url>.*)\) But it seems to be choking on the following example: url(images/ui-bg_flat_0_aaaaaa_40x100.png) 50% 50% repeat-x; opacity: .30;filter:Alpha(Opacity=30) Which results in images/ui-bg_flat_0_aaaaaa_40x100.png) 50% 50% repeat-x; opacity: .30;filter:Alpha(Opacity=30... • Algorithm: efficient way to remove duplicate integers from an array

  I got this problem from an interview with Microsoft. Given an array of random integers, write an algorithm in C that removes duplicated numbers and return the unique numbers in the original array. E.g Input: {4, 8, 4, 1, 1, 2, 9} Output: {4, 8, 1, 2, 9, ?, ?} One caveat is that the expected algorithm should not required the array to be sorted first. And when an element has been removed, the following elements must be shifted forward as well. Anyway, value of elements at the tail of the array where elements were shifted forward are negligible. Update: The result must be returned in the original array and helper data structure (e.g. hashtable) should not be used. However, I guess order preservation is not necessary. Update2: For those who wonder why these impractical constraints, this was an interview question and all these constraints are discussed during the thinking process to see how I can come up with different ideas.

  My project contains 2 source folder, one is generic J2EE application another is smartCleintGWT, I want to use some already existing DTO classes from first source folder (src) Note that class used on client side and on server side of GWT project! When I do that I getting error [ERROR] Errors in 'file:/C:/..Projects/Admin/DMX/src_console/com/ho/nod/client/AdminRPC.java' [ERROR] Line 7: No source code is available for type com.dmx.synch.server.descriptors.DMXLicense; did you forget to inherit a required module? Source is available obviously; is there any way to import all that into GWT? PS In the future 2 source folder will be separated into 2 projects...I hope it wont be that complicated as well.

  Hi All, I am working on a rake utility and want to implement something mentioned below: There are some shell commands in a sequence in my Rake file. What I want is that the sequence should wait for the previous command to finish processing before it moves to the next one. sh "git commit -m \"#{args.commit_message}\"" do |ok, res| # Do some processing end sh "git push heroku master" So, in the above example what I want is that sh "git push heroku master" shouldn't be executed until the processing in the sh "git commit -m \"#{args.commit_message}\"" do |ok, res| # Do some processing end is completed. Also another nice to have would be that if I can store the output of the shell command in a Ruby variable so it can be used in further manipulation if required. • How to disable listbox's click event

  I have a listbox which acts as a list of items. If you click on some item, it's contents are shown in the panel on the right (few textboxes etc.). I need to have a validation on these controls as all of them are required fields. And I do have it. The problem is that, even when the validators are not valid, user can click the listbox and change active index (that doesn't have impact on the panel on the right, as SelectedIndexChanged isn't fired). The validators are standard RequiredFieldValidator with their Display property set to "Dynamic". So, what I want is to disallow the user clicking on the listbox and changing the index untill all validators are Valid. What would be your solution for that? Is that even possible?

• Visual Studio's CSS Intellisense - Absolute paths & MasterPage files

  Hi there. I've noticed that to get CSS-Intellisense working in VS, the paths have to be relative - Is this the case? However, it seems <link href="/resources/test.css" [...] /> is far more practical than <link href="resources/test.css" [...] /> I'm including the CSS in the master page, and don't see much good in including it as a content block, just to get the relative paths correct for each directory depth. I've had a quick try with inline code resolving the path, but no dice there either (for Intellisense). I feel I'm missing something fairly simple - What's the correct approach here to have CSS Intellisense work across the pages in the app during dev, and render fine in any deployed state? Cheers. • Combine 2 apps into one DB?

  I'm debating whether to use the same DB for both my blog and my wiki. Since both are open source, and both install the required tables which is a very small number of tables for both apps, I'm thinking about just using one database to represent both sets of tables. Is this common and safe to do? I am hesitant because I always create a new DB for every application I create or use. But in this case, I don't want to spend another $10 a month from my shared hosting just to get another SQL 2008 DB to host a wiki..it's small and I'm the only one using the wiki. I just want to point the wiki to my existing blog DB that's already running and have the wiki wizard auto gen the tables to that DB and just hold both sets of tables there.

  Hi guys, I have a question about spring transaction propagation. If I use @Transactional(propagation = Propagation.REQUIRED) to annotate a method m1. When execution logic enter m1, if there is already a transaction, m1 will use that one. When after m1, what about the transaction? It ends or still open?(if I call m1 in another method, and after the invocation there is still other things to do). In summary, I want to know when exiting an annotated method, the transaction ends or still open? Great thanks.

  I have a TextBox control on a Windows Form that uses a DataSource custom object as its BindingSource. I have associated an ErrorProvider with the BindingSource like so: Dim dobExample As New DOExample ExampleBS.DataSource = dobExample epExample.DataSource = ExampleBS The ErrorProvider fires if I type a blank space in the TextBox and then press Tab to move to the next control, which is correct. But it doesn't fire if I just press Tab without entering anything. I want the ErrorProvider to show the Error, even if the TextBox is empty and not just validate when there is text in the TextBox. How do I accomplish this? As an additional bit of info, when I execute the following statement: epDOContact.GetError(TextBox) an empty string is returned even though the TextBox is empty when it is required to be present.

  Hi, just a quick query about safe/unsafe states in Dijkstra's Banker's algorithm... If one of the processes in the snapshot of the system (for example the one below) already has all of its needs fulfilled and there are not sufficient resources available to fulfil the needs of any of the other processes, is the system in a safe state? I know normally we assume that once a process receives its required resources it will terminate soon after and return all resources, but is this assumption factored in when we calculate the state of the system? • Can django's auth_user.username be varchar(75)? How could that be done?

  Is there anything wrong with running alter table on auth_user to make username be varchar(75) so it can fit an email? What does that break if anything? If you were to change auth_user.username to be varchar(75) where would you need to modify django? Is it simply a matter of changing 30 to 75 in the source code?: username = models.CharField(_('username'), max_length=30, unique=True, help_text=_("Required. 30 characters or fewer. Letters, numbers and @/./+/-/_ characters")) Or is there other validation on this field that would have to be changed or any other repercussions to doing so?   Hi, I am working on a datagrid with custom itemRenderer & [Bindable]xmllist as dataprovider. Now the changes done in xmllist are not reflected on datagrid UI until unless I re-assign the dataprovider as the same xmllist. As the dataprovider is Bindable so re-assigning is not required. But it was not working so I re-assigned the xmllist to the dataprovider of datagrid. It worked. Now my problem is when I re-assign the dataprovider my datagrid flicker(refreshes). It should not happen. 1) Is there any way out to avoid re-assigning of dataprovider? 2) Is there any way to stop flickering of datagrid on re-assigning the dataprovider? Thanks in advance.

Now when I install my application on an Windows XP machine using an Administrator login. If I run my application using that administrator's login it works well but when I tried to run my application using a normal users login on that machine it fails. The reason for failure is that the normal user is not able to write anything in the All Users/Application data/ My Company folder. Now is any kind of permission is required for All Users folder on Windows XP machine. If yes then from where I can set that permission.

• Detecting first time login of user into application (Google Appengine)

  My app requires users to login using their google account. I have this set in my App.yamp file: url: /user/.* script: user.py login: required Now when any user tries to access files under /user/secret.py he will need to authenticate via google, which will redirect the user back to /user/secret.py after successful authentication. Now the problem I am facing is when the user is redirected back to the app, I cannot be sure if this is the first time the user has logged in or is it a regular user to my site who has come back again from just the user object which google passes using users.get_current_user() . I thus need to maintain state in the datastore to check if the user already exists or not everytime. If he does not exist i need to create a new entry with other application specific settings. My question is: Is there some easier way to handle this? without having to query the datastore to figure if this is a first time user or a regular one?

• Selecting a UserControl from XAML

  I'm working on a problem right now where I need to embed a UserControl inside another UserControl. But, I need to determine at runtime which embedded UserControl to instantiate. This implies to me that some form of data binding and/or template selection mechanism has to be invoked, but I'm not sure how to proceed with the pure XAML approach. If I was to do this with code, I would define some sort of container control in the parent UserControl, and then in the code-behind, implement some logic which would instantiate the appropriate child UserControl and then insert it as Content into the specified container in the parent UserControl. Can this be done using only XAML, or is some sort of code-behind required?

  I am using Java NIO's SocketChannel to write : int n = socketChannel.write(byteBuffer); Most of the times the data is sent in one or two parts; i.e. if the data could not be sent in one attemmpt, remaining data is retried. The issue here is, sometimes, the data is not being sent completely in one attempt, rest of the data when tried to send multiple times, it occurs that even after trying several times, not a single character is being written to channel, finally after some time the remaning data is sent. What could be the cause of such behaviour? Could external factors such as RAM, etc cause the hindarance? Please help me solve this issue. If any other information is required please let me know.   Hello, I need to create a debian package for a java application. In my package there a .jar file which is executable , a script which will run this jar file and a .so file for fmod. I read the tutorial provided at http://tldp.org/HOWTO/html_single/Debian-Binary-Package-Building-HOWTO/ My question is in control file there is a Depends field which basically mentions the packages that need to installed in order to install my application. How do i find which packages are required for my application. I followed the instructions provided in the link for one of the .so and did ~/Desktop/PennTotalRecall/native/fmod/lib/linux64$ dpkg -S libfmodex64-4.28.09.so dpkg: libfmodex64-4.28.09.so not found. It gives above result. Also my application requires java 1.5 to be installed in order for it to run. How do I specify in my debian package. Thanks, AJ

  It might sound unnecessary, but let me explain my problem first. Probably then it would make sense. Few artists keep updating images based on clients' change requests. An artist makes changes accordingly and commits with proper 'commit messages'. Just before actual commit, I want to create a text file with image properties like size and all the 'commit messages'. And then this file would be committed itself. So basically some sort of pre-commit processing is required. Even though most of the artists are not very comfortable with svn, they can always see what changes were made last time to the image via simple text file. So artists only do update and commit with svn. How this could be done? Are there any better alternatives?

  I'm not even sure if i'm doing this correctly. But basically I have a list of objects that are built out of a class. From there, I am binding the list to a datagrid view that is on a Windows Form (C#) From there, it shows all the public properties of the object, in the datagrid view. However there is some properties that i still need accessible from other parts of my application, but aren't really required to be visible in the DataGridView. So is there an attribute or something similar that I can write above the property to exclude it from being shown. P.S. Im binding at runtime. So i cannot edit the columns via the designer. P.P.S. Please no answers of just making public variables (Although if that is the only way, let me know :)).

  Hi, I have a website A.com and a domain at B.com with a widget inside an iframe getting data from A.com. I want to allow x-domain cookies to be passed from a.com to inside the iframe using ASP.NET My understanding is that - I can do this in IE using P3P Headers - such that the A.com cookie is passed to the iframe and session | cookie data is preserved. The P3P headers have to be sent from the A.com and from the iframe. Is this correct ? In dev, my understanding is if I "accept all cookies" in IE - then P3P headers won't matter anyway and so this should all just work. If I put on Medium Security then P3P is required.

  Hi all, I've read through "Apache License, Version 2.0" but my interpretation was in slightly different to an answer given in a related question so was hoping for some clarification. Supposing I created an application that linked to a library that was licensed under the license in question, my interpretation for doing what's required is: I don't need to do anything special to the application itself because it's considered neither "Work" nor "Derivative Works". When distributing the library alongside the application, I need to include a copy of the license. Any installer that contains the library would be considered "Derivative Works" and therefore I would need to show the attribution notices contained in "NOTICE" (if one exists) in one of its screens. If I were to distribute everything in a zip file instead, I would need to put the same attribution notices in a text file that I distribute alongside the file. Does this sound about right? Cheers,

  I have homework where I am to update a list using a function that takes two elements and returns a value of part of the first element given in the function. So it's required to update the entire listing by going through each element and update its value by applying the function against all other elements in the list (including itself). So far I've been trying to firstly map the list (so that each element is done the same) and then specifically update each elements value by mapping again just the value of the specified element however in trying to map just the specific value through: the function, the specific element and the entire list I keep getting complaints that I'm inferring the list of values made from the 'map function p@list list' rather than simply giving the value at p@list. Is this the correct method to try to update a list against the entire list itself? EDIT: spelling mistakes and grammar
