Maven problem with invalid jar file which is actually html

i'm running into a problem in my maven build recently, that it downloads a jar file for the javamail-1.4.jar or something, but it turns out the file is not a real jar file, it's actually a html with a link to where to get the correct jar. it seems to be the repo has changed for that. but in my maven setting everything is supposely to go to our internal repo, i don't know how did that happen. but anyways, more importantly, how do i fix this problem so that it will download the correct jar file on a fresh install? thanks!

HTML encode UTF-8 string gets mangled into latin1

I'm parsing my nginx logs, and I want to discover some details from the HTTP_REFERER string, for example, the query string used to find the web site. One user typed in "México" which gets encoded in the log as "query=M%E9xico". Passing this through Rack::Utils.parse_query('query=M%E9xico') you get a hash, {"query" = "M?xico"} When you to stuff "M?exico" into Postgres (but not the more forgiving SQLite), it pukes because the string isn't proper UTF-8. Looking at http://rack.rubyforge.org/doc/Rack/Utils.html#M000324, unescape is packing a hex string. How can I convert the string back to UTF-8, or can I get parse_query to return UTF-8 in the first place.

XmlSerializer and Mark-up (Xml or Html)

Hi, I've a requirement to serialize any class provided (decorated with the appropriate XmlElement/ XmlAttribute etc), but some of the properties may contain some sort of mark-up...usually HTML, but it could as easily be XML in the future. When trying to serialize the class the XmlSerializer crashes. I'd hope to be able to apply no more than an attribute to the property (currently set to XmlText) in the hope that it would wrap the content in CDATA[...], but that doesn't seem to work. I've seen several 'workarounds' like the one here, but I'd hoped for something a little less impactful for the developing consumer. Does anyone know of any 'nicer' less invasive solution...? Cannot use Html.ActionLink in asp.net mvc spark files

I'm using the spark view engine with my asp.net mvc application. In my aspx pages, I can succesfully use Html.Actionlink, but when I attempt it in spark files, it doesnt show up in intellisense, and when i try to run it anyway, i get: Dynamic view compilation failed. c:\Users\midas\Documents\Visual Studio 2008\Projects\ChurchMVC\ChurchMVC\Views\Home\Index.spark(73,25): error CS1061: 'System.Web.Mvc.HtmlHelper' does not contain a definition for 'ActionLink' and no extension method 'ActionLink' accepting a first argument of type 'System.Web.Mvc.HtmlHelper' could be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) I do have system.web.mvc referenced, and I have added in _global.spark. None of that helps. Any ideas?

Linq2XML not getting content of a node that contains html tags

Hi, I have an XML file that I'm trying to parse with Linq2XML. One of the nodes contains a bit of html, that I cannot retrieve. The XML resembles to: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?> <root> <image><img src="/Images/m1cznk4a6fh7.jpg" /></image> <contentType>Banner</contentType> </root> The code is: XDocument document = XDocument.Parse(content.XML); XElement imageElement = document.Descendants("image").SingleOrDefault(); image = imageElement.Value; // Doesn't get the content, while if I specify .Descendants("contentType") it works Any ideas? WinForms HTML visualizing controls comparison

Hello all! I am working on some project which requires some HTML visualizing control (WinForms). Currently I am aware only of two such a controls: AxWebBrowser (as far as I understand this is IE-based ActiveX control for winforms) Nabu HTMLView (open source library with visualizing capabilities). Are there any other choices? What are their cons and pros? How configurable they are? For example I want to disable navigation and scripts, hook onto loading methods to override resources loading and so on.

ASP.NET: images broken when combining URL Rewriting, asp:ImageButton and html base tag

Hi, I'm using URL Rewriting under ASP.NET 4 (using ISAPI_Rewrite) and I'm finding that that some of my images are not loading as .NET does not seem to understand I'm using an html BASE tag (pretty standard and essential when doing URL Rewriting): eg in my development environment I have: <base href='http://localhost/venuefinder/Website/'></base> and on my pages I have: <asp:ImageButton runat="server" ImageUrl="~/images/button.gif" /> On the home page of the site (http://localhost/venuefinder/Website/) this works fine, however on a page that uses URL rewriting, the image does not work: /venuefinder/Website/venues/ashton_gate_stadium/V18639/ ..as the browser is trying to load: http://localhost/images/buttons/search-button.gif instead of: http://localhost/venuefinder/Website/venues/images/buttons/search-button.gif This is happening because .NET is rendering the button as: src="../../../images/buttons/search-button.gif" ...which is incorrect. Is there any way I can correct this problem so that .NET renders the correct src attribute for the image? (without all the ../../../ etc)

When my application targets .Net 3.5 This code <%= Html.ActionLink("Forgot your password?","ForgotPassword") %> renders this: <a href="/Account/ForgotPassword">Forgot your password?</a> When my application targets .Net 4.0 The same code renders: <a href="">Forgot your password?</a> It's dropping the url part. backwards compatibility is supposedly enabled in my web.config. <pages controlRenderingCompatibilityVersion="3.5" clientIDMode="AutoID"> Ideas?

Regular expression to replace quotation marks in HTML tags only

I have the following string: <div id="mydiv">This is a "div" with quotation marks</div> I want to use regular expressions to return the following: <div id='mydiv'>This is a "div" with quotation marks</div> Notice how the id attribute in the div is now surrounded by apostrophes? How can I do this with a regular expression? Edit: I'm not looking for a magic bullet to handle every edge case in every situation. We should all be weary of using regex to parse HTML but, in this particular case and for my particular need, regex IS the solution...I just need a bit of help getting the right expression.

Sending Outlook 2007 Meeting Request with HTML Body

I know that Outlook.ApointmentItem.Body only supports plain and rich text formats. But my requirement is to send the Appointment with a Html body. Currently I am saving the ApointmentItem as an ics file and attaching it to the e-mail. This works but the outcome that I am looking for is that it is received as a meeting request. I.e. I receive this e-mail I can see the body and have the option to respond to the meeting request. I tried forwarding the AppointmentItem as a vCal but that does not work either. I am I headed in the right direction? Thanks

I have a View that renders something like this: "Item 1" and "Item 2" are <tr> elements from a table. After the user change "Value 1" or "Value 2" I would like to call a Controller and put the result (some HTML snippet) in the div marked as "Result of...". I have some vague notions of JQuery. I know how to bind to the onchange event of the Select element, and call the $.ajax() function, for example. But I wonder if this can be achieved in a more efficient way in ASP.NET MVC2.

How could I embed a html/css/js view in a webstart application

I would like to use a html/css/js view in my webstart project without requesting all permissions. I figured out that I could use the java HTTPServer to process the requests but I need a way to avoid using real sockets, so that the HTTPServer instantiation doesn't ask for some permission. Do you know any projects that achieve that ? and if not, what should I do to get an HTTPServer completely working locally (without hitting boundaries...) ? edit: maybe an HTTPServer is too much, I maybe only need a HttpHandler..

Render tooltip on disabled HTML Button.

I have a HTML button. I have tried to render a tooltip on it based on the "title" attribute of the button and it doesn't render. Mainly because it's disabled. I then tried wrapping the button in a span and setting the "title" attribute of the span. Hovering over the button that is wrapped in the span still has no effect. The tooltip will render on any other part of the span that is not part of the button tag. Like if i put some text in the span as well as the button, hovering over the text produces the tooltip, but if you hover over the button it will not render. So: how can I display a tooltip for a disabled button?

Rails, REST Architecture and HTML 5: Cross domain requests with pre-flight requests

While working on a project to make our site HTML 5 friendly, we were eager to embrace the new method for Cross Domain requests (no more posting through hidden iframes!!!). Using the Access Control specification we begin setting up some tests to verify the behaviour of various browsers. The current Rails RESTful architecture relies on the four HTTP verbs: GET, POST, PUT, DELETE. However in the Access Control spec, it dictates that non-simple methods (PUT, DELETE) require a pre-flight request using the HTTP verb OPTIONS. In addition during testing we discovered that Firefox 3.5.8 pre-flight POST requests as well. My question is this. Is anyone aware of any project for the Rails framework working to address the issue? If not, any opinions about the best strategy to support the OPTIONS method, since it has to support the routes for all the POST, PUT, DELETE methods?

I have a fairly large CSS file developed by my web designer. There are, of course, plenty of IDs, classes and tag properties assigned therein. Are there any tools to automatically generate HTML based on a CSS source file? For example: #basicInfoHead{ background:url(../images/leftHeaders.jpg) no-repeat; margin-left: 0px; width:185px; height:28px; } #basicInfoHead span{ float: left; } Would generate <div id=basicInfoHead><span>#basicInfoHead span</span></div> Etc etc. From there, I could preview the generated code in my browser, and see what each of the individual (primarily text) styles would look like. Suppress/Override application.html.erb

Is there any way to suppress the default js and css loaded by application.html.erb on a view by view basis? I'm finding it incredibly difficult to manage a global css and js includes configuration when certain views need different js libraries that for some reason seem to be conflicting with one another. For example, I might want jquery 1.3 for one view and 1.4.2 for another. I don't necessarily want to have to have an include for every view (I do want to have a global site-wide default), but I would also like to be able to override those for any view I want. Thanks!

Hello all, I'm trying to use a different directory to contain the applets and other directory with .html pages. Both are in the same level, that is, none is a sub-directory of the other. For that I was trying to use the parameter codebase, however, no matter what I put in codebase value (relative, absolute path) I always get a class not found error. I googled and found some people with the same problem, but no answers:( Does anybody knows how to accomplish this? I'm using JRE 1.6_20. Cheers, Jorge
