  Hi all, i am a complete nobbie to BHO and C++. This is what i want to achieve. Using various code samples, i have been successful in installing a BHO in my Internet Explorer. I am currently making use of the Invoke method to search for DISPID_HTMLDOCUMENTEVENTS2_ONCLICK and have been successful in capturing the event. How can i access a HTML input on the page is filled up with values? (eg. i navigate to www.gmail.com, key in some values into the username and password, and my BHO is activated upon the onclick event?) • Compute column widths in a HTML-like manner (based on cell contents)

  Hi, I have a grid of data that I want to export to RTF, PDF etc. using various (and not perfect) PHP converters/generators. What I am missing most is the HTML table automatic adjustment of column widths based on the lengths of strings in the cells (strings contain line breaks which complicate things a bit, as they should be preserved). I need an algorithm that, given the contents of the cells (plain text), a total width of the table and an average width of a character, would return a width for each column. I wouldn't want to reinvent the wheel if something is already available. Of course it can't be perfect if the font is variable width, but an approximation would do just fine. Or maybe it could have a configurable table with widths for each character. Any hint would be appreciated. Thank you.

• How to run a recorded (HTML) selenium test from .NET

  I run Selenium tests with Selenium RC from .NET (c#). In some cases, I would like to keep the test case source as HTML (to be able to modify it from Selenium IDE), but I would like to run/include these tests from my c# unit tests. Maybe it is obvious, but I can't find the API method in the Selenium Core to achieve this. Any idea how to do that? (I think the "includePartial" command in Selenium on Rails does the thing that I would need, but for c#.)

  I'm trying to add some video playback (that will be used for a tutorial) to my Adobe Air application. I'm not a Flex or Flash developer and my application is HTML/Javascript based, so I'm having trouble with some of the video solutions I've been able to find. Here is one of the examples I've found that is flex based: Playing local files with Air I've looked for a free flash video player that I could just embed. But the only one I've found I was unable to coerce to play files from my Air application directory. I was exited at the prospect of using the HTML5 video tag which I thought Air supported, but that also seems to not work. Can anyone recommend a free flash video player that I can embed? Or a solution that doesn't have to be built completely from flex?

  Hi StackOverflow, I have a Java application that makes heavy use of a large file, to read, process and give through to SolrEmbeddedServer (http://lucene.apache.org/solr/). One of the functions does basic HTML escaping: private String htmlEscape(String input) { return input.replace("&", "&amp;").replace(">", "&gt;").replace("<", "&lt;") .replace("'", "&apos;").replaceAll("\"", "&quot;"); } While profiling the application, the program spends roughly 58% of the time in this function, a total of 47% in replace, and 11% in replaceAll. Now, is the Java replace that slow, or am I on the right path and should I consider the program efficient enough to have its bottleneck in Java and not in my code? (Or am I replacing wrong?)   This has got to be a FAQ, so can someone please just direct me to a "network programming for dummies" URL? The server wants to push information to a client or broadcast to all, when an event happens - as opposed to the clients constantly polling the server "just in case". The client then updates a browser page display. How do I do that? (toldya it was a n00b question) Should I have a thread which receives info on a socket and then writes it to a database which the browser display (PHP) can process with an HTML refresh tag, or what? I've looked into FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getExternalContext().getRequestParameterMap().get("data"); But that seems only to work if it is passed in as an <f:param/>. • ASP MVC ViewData from one view to another (Html.Encode())

  Hello all, I have a page with a bunch of labels and checkboxes on it. On this page, the labels need to be easily customizable after the project is deployed. So I made all of the labels in this style: Html.Encode(ViewData["lblText"]) And I added a button on the page called "Edit Button Labels" that will only be seen by admins. When that button is clicked, I would like to load another view that simply contains a table of two columns. One column needs to contain the current labels and the other should have text boxes for the user to enter new labels. Then, once any changes have been made, I need to permanently change the "lblText" for each label on the original page. I have tried passing viewdata and tempdata to the "Edit Button Labels" view using both return view() and return RedirectToAction() with no success. Am I missing something minor or is there a better way to do this?

• MVC Html.DropDownList closes prematurely in IE7

  I'm using ASP.NET MVC with jquery. I have a couple of dropdownlists. When I select one via mouse click and then scroll down over the items using the mouse/cursor, the list closes before a selection can be made, before the mouse can be clicked. This doesn't happen when I open them and then up/down arrow to select an item. It doesn't happen all of the time, but a lot. Just to try something different, I added a jquery "select" control with hardcoded values (options) and it displays the same behavior.   I am new to Drupal and am trying to create a node (let's call it child) that will only really be accessed when clicked on from another node (we'll call it parent). When closing the child window, I want to parent window to refresh.   I'm trying to come up with a validation expression to prevent users from entering html or javascript tags into a comment box on a web page. The following works fine for a single line of text: ^(?!.(<|)).$ ..but it won't allow any newline characters because of the dot(.). If I go with something like this: ^(?!.(<|))(.|\s)$ it will allow multiple lines but the expression only matches '<' and '' on the first line. I need it to match any line. This works fine: ^[-_\s\d\w"'.,:;#/&\$\%\?!@+*\()]{0,4000}$ but it's ugly and I'm concerned that it's going to break for some users because it's a multi-lingual application. Any ideas? Thanks!
