  • Changing the namespace for a Web Reference in a Project to be Made Into a VS Project Template

    When I add a web reference to a project, it comes up with a default namespace of: com.wpdevs.myservice. This is the namespace I'd have expected it to use in the application. When I add the using statement to the project, I have to add: using MyProject.com.wpdevs.myservice; I'd like to find a way to eliminate having to reference the project name in the using statement. The project I'm putting together now is destined to be converted into a VS Project template and having that rather strange reference in there, or even having a per-project reference, isn't something I'd like to have in the project.

  • Why page_load is called twice in my web application?

    Hi, I have already gone through some of the posts in many websites regarding page_load being called twice but my problem is little bit different from those. My problem is with the landing page of my web application. Initially in my website page_load for the landing page was getting called twice every time when it is loaded. Since my application is an upgraded one (from VS 2003 to VS 2005/2008), I commented the "this.load" event in InitializeComponent. Now it works fine, when user first logs in, into my web application. But then, whenever user navigates to this page from any other page in my application, page_load gets called twice. Does anybody have any idea about why this could be happening. I tried to track the call stack for this, but VS 2008 was showing that this was getting called from external code. Also, I am using frames in my web application. I wonder if this problem has anything to do with frames. Any help is deeply appreciated. Regards, Hari

    Hi everyone. i had just started to learn VB and VS2008 and im doing some system due to my homework. i made a WELCOME form with a timer, 5s to pass to the next form which called Select. After passed to next form, itll me.visible = false. Theres 3 buttons on the Select form which call Customer, Staff and Exit. As i had just start, the button Customer will pass to a MDI menu call Customer Menu with a menu strip button called Quotation. Same, Select will me.visible = false when done. Then a problem occured, i made a Quotation inside the Customer Menu, such as the mdiparent of Quotation is Customer. I expected that the Quotation button will disenable to press after i pressed that button. But i fail to do that.   • How do I backup my C++ Builder component installation?

    Hi I finally have my c++ Builder 2010 installation the way I want it, with all my components upgraded and installed. (touch wood) I have been working with c++builder since version 1 and I know from countless previous traumatic experiences that this state of affairs could change in an instant. I would like to backup the installation and component set. Is there a way to do this? A tool perhaps? A menu command that I have maybe missed all these years? I don't want to have to reinstall all the components from the bpl source again. I make nightly backup images of my entire drive, I would like to do this for c++builder only if possible. If it's a matter of simply copying files, which files would I need to copy? Are there entries in the registry that would need to be restored? Thanks in advance for any thoughts and suggestions

  • DebuggerDisplay attribute does not work as expected!

    Dear ladies and sirs. I know that this attribute should work in C# and yet, in my case it does not. I have a class with a lazy property Children. Accessing this property may have a side effect of roundtripping to the server. So, naturally, I do not want this to happen when I just watch it in the debugger watch window. Omitting all the irrelevant details the source looks pretty ordinary: [DebuggerDisplay("(Frozen) {m_children}")] public IList<IEntityBase> Children { get { if (m_children == null) { m_children = FetchChildrenFromDB(this); } return m_children; } } And yet, when I watch the object and expand this in the watch window I do not see (Frozen) in the display, meaning the debugger simply ignores the attribute. Provided the image link is still valid it should be visible below: http://i28.tinypic.com/2zxo9s5.jpg The attribute is really there, according to Reflector. I use VS2008. Any ideas?

This is not the first time i see this problem, the ascx file doesn't even have any components to show yet... The web user control is like empty and still it won't load. What can be the problem here?

I'm trying to convert my MFC application, a simple "PaintBrush" app that draws lines and rectangles (it's only a little test from another bigger application), to a ActiveX Control that a could embed into a Windows Forms Application (with Visual C#). I didn't found any tutorial for do this, and now, I'm not sure that this it's possible. I know how create an ActiveX Control recently created but not how convert an existing application.     When I run the custom tool to create the cs files for SubSonic all the templates now inject a letter g to the top of the cs files. To get this to compile I need to remove the g from the ActiveRecord.cs, Struts.cs, Context.cs and StoredProcedures.cs. Anyone else run into this? I am using MySQL.

  • Program ends abruptly even in debugger - how did that happen?

    I am trying to debug a program that unexpectedly shuts down. When I say "shuts down, I mean one moment I am seeing all the windows being displayed, each of which is showing all the right data,then suddenly all the windows disappear. The is no messagebox reporting anything wrong. So I tried running the program in the debugger hoping that it would somehow trap whatever was causing the program to abort, but even within the debugger the program simply ends abruptly. The last line in the debugger is: The program '[5500] test.exe: Native' has exited with code 0 (0x0). My program which is extremely large and extremely old has a lot of self diagnostics. My suspicion is that perhaps a self test has failed and maybe I just called "exit()", forgetting to pop up a dialog explaining why. My question now is, how can I find out from which point in the code, my program quit?

  • Internet zone is opened when broswer is opened from installer created by .Net 3.5sp1

    Hi All, I have project created in VS2005 and .Net 2.0. The installation is a web-based installation. After installing the proe-requisites the installer opens up the browser to continue with web-based install. On this, it opens up in intranet zone and works perfectly. I recently migrated the project to VS2008 Sp1 and .Net 3.5sp1. No change in my code and the test environment. Here the browser gets opened up in the Internet zone which prevents it from moving forward, until unless I open up a new browser manually and copy paste the url. The internet security options on the both the case are - Internet --- High. For the case2, if i have the security internet option to be 'Medium', it works well. I am not sure why this issue comes up when I change the VS and .Net version. More over the browser gets opened with system priveleges rather than administrator privileges. Please let me know any solution on this. Thanks, Priya.R
