To see what I mean, try the following: Upload file.pdf to your server (i.e., http://example.com). Visit http://docs.google.com/viewer?url=http://example.com/file.pdf Upload a new file to replace file.pdf (but use the same name). Revisit http://docs.google.com/viewer?url=http://example.com/file.pdf. Google Docs Viewer still shows the old file.pdf. Anyone know how to correct this? (I have already tried clearing browser cache, switching browsers, and logging in with a different google account to view the link.)

• android app crashes if keyboard was shown

  I have an activity that I force keyboard to appears using, InputMethodManager inputMethodManager=(InputMethodManager)getSystemService(Context.INPUT_METHOD_SERVICE); inputMethodManager.toggleSoftInput(InputMethodManager.SHOW_FORCED, 0); keyboard appears properly and also obscured when needed. Problem is when I finish the activity, app crashes. If the activity never shows keyboard or shows it without start editing text, it is finished with no errors but if you just write one single character or more, app will crash.   I'm trying to get the value of the repeatInterval key in the com.apple.scheduler plist. I'd like to just use NSDictionary's valueForKeyPath: method like so: CFPropertyListRef value; value = CFPreferencesCopyValue(CFSTR("AbsoluteSchedule"), CFSTR("com.apple.scheduler"), kCFPreferencesCurrentUser, kCFPreferencesCurrentHost); NSNumber *repeatInterval = [(NSDictionary *)value valueForKeyPath:@"com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.SUCheckSchedulerTag.Timer.repeatInterval"]; But the problem with this is that the first key is really "com.apple.SoftwareUpdate", not just "com". I can get around this by getting that first value separately: NSDictionary *dict = [(NSDictionary *)value valueForKey:@"com.apple.SoftwareUpdate"]; NSNumber *repeatInterval = [dict valueForKeyPath:@"SUCheckSchedulerTag.Timer.repeatInterval"]; I just wanted to know if there is a way to escape periods in a keypath so I can eliminate this extra step.

• Getting batch_action functionality in Symfony 1.0

  I'm currently working on a web app written in Symfony. I'm supposed to add an "export to CSV" feature in the backend/administration part of the app for some modules. In the list view, there should be an "Export" button which should provide the user with a csv file of the elements that are displayed (considering filtering criteria). I've created a method in the actions class of the module that takes a comma separated list of ids and generates the CSV, but I'm not really sure how to add the link to it in the view. The problem is that the view doesn't exist anywhere, it's generated on the fly from the data in the generator.yml configuration file. I've posted the relevant part of the file below. I'm new to Symfony, so any help would be appreciated :). I really think there could be a better way for this.

  I have a WCF Service hosted w/n IIS that has the following host header: WcfService.xxx.com. I'm able to successfully browse via IE to my service with the address subdomain.xxx.com/ServiceName.svc. I'm trying to consume the WCF Service via a ASP.NET Web application that has the following host header subdomain2.xxx.com. I've added the service reference correctly in the web.config to /WcfService.xxx.com/ServiceName.svc, but get the error(s): "The remote name could not be resolved: 'WcfService.xxx.com'" "There was no endpoint listening at http://WcfService.xxx.com/ServiceName.svc that could accept the message. This is often caused by an incorrect address or SOAP action" Any direction/help would be appreciated.

  I have this Rails app, with domain name abc.com. I am also having a separate subdomain for Piwik stats, in this subdomain stats.abc.com. Googlebot somehow listed some of the links with my subdomain too. http://abc.com/login http://stats.abc.com/login http://abc.com/signup http://stats.abc.com/signup The ones with stats will reference to the same page in the app, but are treated entirely different website. I have put in robots.txt in stats after this matter, but wondering if there is any appropriate way to block this because I may have new subdomains in future.   I am pretty much set on using the Java package naming convention of com.website.app.whatever but am unsure about the best way of doing this in PHP. Option 1: Create a directory structure com/ mysite/ myapp/ encryption/ PublicKeyGenerator.class.php Cipher.class.php Xml/ XmlHelper.class.php XmlResponse.class.php Now this is how Java does it, it uses the folders to organize the heirarchy. This is however a little clumsy in PHP because there is no native support for it and when you move things around you break all includes. Option 2 Name classes using a periods for the package, therefore sames are just like in Java but can all be in the same directory making __autoload a breeze. classes/ com.mysite.myapp.encription.PublicKeyGenerator.class.php com.mysite.myapp.encription.Cipher.class.php com.mysite.myapp.xml.XmlHelper.class.php com.mysite.myapp.xml.XmlResponse.class.php The only real disadvantage here is that all the classes are in a single folder which might be confusing for large projects. Opinions sought, which is the best or are there other even better options?

  Alright, currently I'm using GD to create a PNG image that logs a few different things, depending on the GET data, for example: http://example.com/file.php?do=this will log one thing while http://example.com/file.php?do=that will log another thing. However, I'd like to do it without GET data, so instead http://example.com/dothis.php will log one thing, and http://example.com/dothat.php will log the other. But on top of that, I'd also like to make it accessible via the JPG file extension. I've seen this done but I can't figure out how. So that way http://example.com/dothis.JPG will log one thing, while http://example.com/dothat.JPG logs the other. The logging part is simple, of course. I simple need to know how to use filenames in place of the GET data and how to set the php file to be accessible via a jpg file extension.

(All existing in server's filesystem) I want to create new "virtual" sub-dirs with htaccess, but I only want the htaccess rule work for directories, listed in DB, and not existing in filesystem. i.e. File system has: /dir1/ & /dir2/ MySQL database has record for 'dir3' & 'dir4' And I want: A: mysite.com/dir1/ and mysite.com/dir2/ display existing old content B: mysite.com/dir3/ and mysite.com/dir4/ display content from MySQL provided by PHP sctipt via redirect like: mysite.com/myscript.php?dir=dir3 C: mysite.com/dir5/ display 404 error (Dir does not exist in DB nor in Database) Basically I want .htaccess to work like this: IF DIR Exists in DB - apply the rewrite rule and show content from myscript.php?dir=DIR ELSE don't apply any rule. I can create a separate php script, which can return 0/1 when given dir name exist in DB or not, but how do I make mod_rewrite get the data from that script? Is it possible with htaccess/PHP at all?

• Facebook android app keeps crashing even though there are no errors in my code. Why?

  If you import the facebook SDK library, the code works (ignore the deprecated methods for now lol) and there are no errors or warnings. However, when I run my facebook app on my Android 2.2 or 4.2 emulator, the app crashes either upon opening or after the log on screen. Why? Is it because I'm not implementing Async Task? If so, how does that work? • Google Calendar title displayed incorrectly

  Hi, I'm creating 2 Google calendars via the Java client API using the following Groovy method: private CalendarEntry createGoogleCalendar(User user) throws ServiceException { new CalendarEntry().with {calendar -> title = new PlainTextConstruct(user.email) summary = new PlainTextConstruct("Collection calendar for $user.email") timeZone = new TimeZoneProperty("America/Montreal") hidden = HiddenProperty.FALSE def savedCalendar = googleCalendar.insert(CALENDAR_URL, calendar) log.debug "Created calendar with title '$savedCalendar.title.plainText' for '$user.email'" return savedCalendar } } The logs show: CalendarService - Created calendar with title 'user2@mailinator.com' for 'user2@mailinator.com' CalendarService - Created calendar with title 'canimo@mailinator.com' for 'canimo@mailinator.com' so it appears that all is well. However when I look at the 1st calendar on the Google website, the title is shown as [email protected].com, though the summary is correctly shown as Collection calendar for user2@mailinator.com. Strangely, the title and summary are both shown correctly tor the 2nd calendar. This only started happening today, and I'm pretty sure the relevant code has not changed. I'm totally stumped....

(note exclamation mark is not part of the URL) Is http://somesite.com/ down for anyone else?   I'm interested in building a web application in .NET that is scalable to multiple Clients and each and every Client has users associated with them. Suppose that my website is xyz.com and I have 3 clients "abc", "klm", "pqr" and I want to give access to features of xyz.com under the link as follows www.xyz.com/abc www.xyz.com/klm www.xyz.com/pqr and Client abc has N users and I want to set 3 roles for every client's user role.   I need to summarize a data frame by some variables, ignoring the others. This is sometimes referred to as collapsing. E.g. if I have a dataframe like this: Widget Type Energy egg 1 20 egg 2 30 jap 3 50 jap 1 60 Then collapsing by Widget, with Energy the dependent variable, Energy~Widget, would yield Widget Energy egg 25 jap 55 In Excel the closest functionality might be "Pivot tables" and I've worked out how to do it in python (http://alexholcombe.wordpress.com/2009/01/26/summarizing-data-by-combinations-of-variables-with-python/), and here's an example with R using doBy library to do something very related (http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg02643.html), but is there an easy way to do the above? And even better is there anything built into the ggplot2 library to create plots that collapse across some variables?
