• Auto discover projects in continous integration Tools

  We have a code base composed of many projects. Currently each time we add a project on SVN we must reconfigure CruiseControl to start build and test on such project. I'm looking for a tool (better if open source) able to scan the SVN repository and find new projects by itself. A project can be "a SVN folder containing trunk, tags, branches subfolders". Even better if the tool supports multistaged continous integration and build on demand. Thanks

  Hello, I have a problem and I want to implement the MVC pattern to my QT application, that's why I need for example to inherite in my QTableWidget about another class like myClass { myMethod(); } but our QTableWidget is contained by our Mainwidows that is designed by the QT designer and generate an ui_MainWindow class ! But if I want to have a string like "/name-or-address:value/name-or-address:value" which has this '-' in second part, it doesn't work. I am using \w to match A-Za-z_, but how can I include - in that?

  I'd like to decorate a function, using a pattern like this: def deco(func): def wrap(*a,**kw): print "do something" return func(*a,**kw) return wrap The problem is that if the function decorated has a prototype like that: def function(a,b,c): return When decorated, the prototype is destroyed by the varargs, for example, calling function(1,2,3,4) wouldn't result in an exception. Is that a way to avoid that? How can define the wrap function with the same prototype as the decorated (func) one? There's something conceptually wrong?

  I want to create a simple script that tags the latest revision to the tags folder, for example: for Trunk directory head revision 114, it will create a tag of this directory to the Tags directory which goes by the name "r114". • Is it possible to store only a checksum of a large file in git?

  I'm a bioinformatician currently extracting normal-sized sequences from genomic files. Some genomic files are large enough that I don't want to put them into the main git repository, whereas I'm putting the extracted sequences into git. Is it possible to tell git "Here's a large file - don't store the whole file, just take its checksum, and let me know if that file is missing or modified." If that's not possible, I guess I'll have to either git-ignore the large files, or, as suggested in this question, store them in a submodule.

• Why would I use Dropbox *and* Git for my Emacs initialization file?

  I hear a lot of Emacs users have their init file under git version control and sync the git repository over Dropbox, when they run Emacs on multiple systems. Why would you use git in this situation exactly? Usually checking which system you're on and which things to load and set depending on that can happen in one and the same init file for all systems, right? So, isn't it simply enough to put your init file in a Dropbox directory and load that one directly from Emacs then?
