    Here is my problem: Given x, y, z and ratio where z is known and ratio is known and is a float representing a relative value, I need to find x and y. I know that: x / y == ratio y - x == z What I'm trying to do is make my own scroll pane and I'm figuring out the scrollbar parameters. So for example, If the scrollbar must be able to scroll 100 values (z) and the thumb must consume 80% of the bar (ratio = 0.8) then x would be 400 and y would be 500. Thanks

  • JQUERY, scrollTo, after scrolling down, the page won't let me scroll up for a second... Y?

    I'm using the following JQUERY to attach an even to a link in the header, which essentially scrolls to the bottom of the page: $('#comment-count-btn').click(function(){ $('html,body').scrollTo('#comment-wrapper', 500); }); Problem is, that it scrolls all the way to the bottom of the page (which is correct), but then when I try to scroll up a tad, the scroll bar jumps, as if it's locked for a little bit. Any ideas?

    Hi, I have several developers which connect to production and test servers where we have DBs with similar names and structures. In SSMS there are info related to the connection, but sometimes are not properly displayed and/or hidden. I know that it is possible to customize the status bar of each connection in SSMS, but how do you ensure that your developer is connecting to the right server before he runs a query?   • Slowness of Netbeans Platform Apps - how to mitigate?

    Hi, We are developing a commerical application (pretty complex) in java using Netbeans IDE. We have 2 options in netbeans to create it- 1. Develop Java desktop app 2. Netbeans Platform app We have requirement that application startup and response times should be very very fast, should be modular etc. We did Proof of Technology by creating apps using both approaches mentioned above. We found Netbeans platform apps are very slow during startup and during screen navigation compared to pure Swing based desktop apps. We tried to implement suggestions provided at http://wiki.netbeans.org/Category:Performance:FAQ and in other blogs and forums to improve on speed of the app but were not successful. We feel for creating a complex desktop app Netbeans platform app would be better suited, but its not meeting our performance requirements (startup and response times, memory footprints, CPU usage guidelines etc). Can any one guide us on how to mitigate our problem of improving performance of Netbeans Platforms apps? Thanks in advance for your help. -bhan

  • Did anyone see the spasticNav.js Menu for jQuery ?

    Helooo all, If anyone doesn't know what i'm talking about, this is the link: http://net.tutsplus.com/tutorials/html-css-techniques/how-to-build-a-lava-lamp-style-navigation-menu/ How can i click the menu, and make it “stick” :) without reloading the whole page ? The plugin takes a static state of the tag UL – and run the plugin on it. which mean that if i move the “currentPageItem” from the first LI tag and give it to the next LI tag – the spasticNav doesn’t run for each object again. it still “remembers” the old state. ( because the .js file run only once at the top of the page ) So what should I add to the code in order to get dynamic “Click” event ? ( without reloading the whole page [ ajax ] ) Does anyone have any ideas about this specific plugin ? Thanks.

My network condition is fine, my server works great. What could be the problem?

    Hi, My project is navigation based template and it was running fine until I made changes in some child view. I need to add 4 Tab in some child view.     Not a Noob as yesterday, but still green. I have a UITabbarcontoller and a IUNavigationController they seem to work fine. I have a UITableviewController to which I loads my NSMutable array. The user clicks a cell and didSelectRowAtIndexPath xib is loaded onto the stack. I have a 'Learn More' button on the current xib. I've tried a few approaches to load a newer xib when the 'Learn More' button is pressed but have failed. Im thinking it has to do with the Navigation Controller? Do I need to import the navigationcontroller to every ViewControllerSubclass I make? Thanks.

    I know in Jython you can do import java.util.Random as Random Random().nextInt() But if I have a class I wrote myself, how can I import it into Jython without putting the class itself in a package?   • Is it a good idea to work on header files only, just at the start of the project?

    To explain my point further, I'm a beginner in programming, and I'm working on a small project. Instead of separating the .cpp file from the header file, I'm implementing the code in the header files, and making one .cpp file for testing. I do this to have less files, hence easier navigation. Then later I'll separate the code as it should be. Will this cause any problems? should I continue doing that? Thanks.

    I'm building an app for iPhone, I want to use storyboard in XCode to do a simple selection from a tableView (let's call it master table view controller with couple rows) then through navigation it goes to next page and shows a detail view for that selection. I have in my code a base class representing my detailViewController, and have 2-3 driver classes of this base class representing what I want to show in detail view controller in second page, can someone give me an idea how to set destination viewController (detailViewController) dynamically to one of my child class based on the selected row in master view controller using storyboard? Usually you assign a class to destination class in storyboard for your detail view controller with using segue, but since my destination class could be a different (child class) how you set this in storyboard?   • Help with C# program design implementation: multiple array of lists or a better way?

    I'm creating a 2D tile-based RPG in XNA and am in the initial design phase. I was thinking of how I want my tile engine to work and came up with a rough sketch. Basically I want a grid of tiles, but at each tile location I want to be able to add more than one tile and have an offset. I'd like this so that I could do something like add individual trees on the world map to give more flair. Or set bottles on a bar in some town without having to draw a bunch of different bar tiles with varying bottles. But maybe my reach is greater than my grasp. I went to implement the idea and had something like this in my Map object: List<Tile>[,] Grid; But then I thought about it. Let's say I had a world map of 200x200, which would actually be pretty small as far as RPGs go. That would amount to 40,000 Lists. To my mind I think there has to be a better way. Now this IS pre-mature optimization. I don't know if the way I happen to design my maps and game will be able to handle this, but it seems needlessly inefficient and something that could creep up if my game gets more complex. One idea I have is to make the offset and the multiple tiles optional so that I'm only paying for them when needed. But I'm not sure how I'd do this. A multiple array of objects? object[,] Grid; So here's my criteria: A 2D grid of tile locations Each tile location has a minimum of 1 tile, but can optionally have more Each extra tile can optionally have an x and y offset for pinpoint placement Can anyone help with some ideas for implementing such a design (don't need it done for me, just ideas) while keeping memory usage to a minimum?
