• setUserCredentials from Google data api is stuck

  Well, since I am facing some issues with OAuth implementation, I decided to go back to normal method where users will input their login id and password and I will use them in my code to validate their google account to fetch calendar information. So when user enters login id and password, the page is getting stuck. When I check the code, setUserCredentials is the method where it is getting stuck. But when I enter my login id and password and debug on development site, it works fine. There is no problem when I debug. And importantly , the problem appears for first time only, once I debug the code and next time I try it without breakpoint, it works fine. Does anyone know why setUserCredentials takes time or any way I can track why it is taking so time? I have asked the same question on Google data api forum, but nobody answered it.

• Is there any er diagram tool in Windows that I can use to connect to a MySQL 4.1 database in Unix?

  I have a few test databases in some Unix SUSE 8 servers and initially the plan was to find some tools which can directly create the ERD straight from the server until someone told me that I can find tools to connect from the Windows PC straight to the Unix MySQL database. So I saw MySQL query analyzer which can do this but unfortunately there are no options to create an ERD. So are there any tools, preferably open source or free which can do this? I've done some basic googling but didn't know what is the exact terms to use to search for this and have so far found nothing useful yet. Updates: I just found out that the latest version of workbench doesn't work MySQL 4.1 Enterprise Edition which is the version that I have! And I try to use fabFORCE DBDesigner but I can't even connect at all using that one :( What can work for this version of MySQL?

  Sadly, a project that I have been working on lately has a large amount of copy-and-paste code, even within single files. Are there any tools or techniques that can detect duplication or near-duplication within a single file? I have Beyond Compare 3 and it works well for comparing separate files, but I am at a loss for comparing single files. Thanks in advance. Edit: Thanks for all the great tools! I'll definitely check them out. This project is an ASP.NET/C# project, but I work with a variety of languages including Java; I'm interested in what tools are best (for any language) to remove duplication.

• Visual VoiceXML/VXML development tool?

  Hi, all. Does anyone know of any tools out there that will let me run and debug a VXML application visually? There are a ton of VXML development tools, but they all require you to build your application within them. I have an existing application that uses JSPs to generate VXML, and I'm looking for a way to navigate through and debug the rendered VXML in much the same way that Firebug allows one to do this with HTML. I have some proxy-like tools that let me inspect the rendered code as it is sent to the VXML browser, but there's a ton of JS, which makes traversing the code by hand rather difficult. • Using Twitter OAuth for automatic status update

  I want my website to automatically post status updates to a particular twitter account using OAuth in PHP. I test this using a URL www.mysite.com/update_status but it asks me for "user name" and "password", which is fine when I am testing it. But my website will not be able to insert this user name and password before posting the status update. So the question is how can a website which is in the server, automatically post a status update to an account without user filling out the user name and password. Is there any way to bypass this? I tried saving oAuth tokens, but it's not working. Thank you for your answer in advance!

  Hello All, I'm taking a discrete mathematics course, and I encountered a question and I need your help. I don't know if this is the right place for that though :) It says: Each user on a computer system has a password, which is six to eight characters long, where each character is an uppercase letter or a digit. Each password must contain at least one digit. How many possible passwords are there? The book solves this by adding the probabilities of having six,seven and eight characters long password. However, when he solves for probability of six characters he does this P6 = 36^6 - 26^6 and does P7 = 36^7 - 26^7 and P8 = 36^8 - 26^8 and then add them all I understand the solution, but my question is why doesn't calculating, P6 = 10*36^5 and the same for P7 and P8, work? 10 for the digit and 36 for the alphanumeric? Also, if anyone could give me another solution, other than the one in the book. Thank you very much :)

  Hi. I'm using the Entity Framework 4 and have a question: I have a password column in my database that I want to manage using custom SQL. So I don't want the model to know anything about it. I've tried deleting the property in the Mapping Details window, but then I got a compilation error: Error 3023: Problem in mapping fragments starting at line 1660:Column User.Password in table User must be mapped: It has no default value and is not nullable. So, I made the column nullable in the database and updated the model. Now I get this error: Error 3004: Problem in mapping fragments starting at line 1660:No mapping specified for properties User.Password, User.Salt in Set Users. An Entity with Key (PK) will not round-trip when: Entity is type [UserDirectoryModel.User] Any ideas please? Thanks, Nick

• My app has some basic problems, and it stops working

  I am writing a basic application which contains two activities. Both contain a TextView showing the title and the first one contains an EditText in which the user types a message and clicks on a button on its side, the second activity is launched which shows the message the user types. It has the following problems: The title (the first TextView in both the activities) doesn't show in the middle of the line, despite of the android:gravity="center_horizontal" attribute. The EditText in the first activity does not show at all. When I click on the button, the app stops saying "Unfortunately Write n Display and stopped.", rather than launching the second activity at all. I don't have adequate knowledge about logcat, but I have followed the steps somebody had told me, that is WindowOpen Perspective Other DDMS Then run the app and select the package name from the Devices and click on log cat, select the exception(s) and export to text file. • Why are events and commands in MVVM so unsupported by WPF / Visual Studio?

  When creating an WPF application with the MVVM pattern, it seems I have to gather the necessary tools myself to even begin the most rudimentary event handling, e.g. AttachedBehaviors I get from here DelegateCommands I get from here Now I'm looking for some way to handle the ItemSelected event in a ComboBox and am getting suggestions of tricks and workarounds to do this (using a XAML trigger or have other elements bound to the selected item, etc.). Ok, I can go down this road, but it seems to be reinventing the wheel. It would be nice to just have an ItemSelected command that I can handle in my ViewModel. Am I missing some set of standard tools or is everyone doing MVVM with WPF basically building and putting together their own collection of tools just so they can do the simplest plumbing tasks with events and commands, things that take only a couple lines in code-behind with a Click="eventHandler"?

  I'm confused how to import a SQL dump file. I can't seem to import the database without creating the database first in MySQL. This is the error displayed when database_name has not yet been created: username = username of someone with access to the database on the original server. database_name = name of database from the original server $ mysql -u username -p -h localhost database_name < dumpfile.sql Enter password: ERROR 1049 (42000): Unknown database 'database_name' If I log into MySQL as root and create the database, database_name mysql -u root create database database_name; create user username;# same username as the user from the database I got the dump from. grant all privileges on database_name.* to username@"localhost" identified by 'password'; exit mysql then attempt to import the sql dump again: $ mysql -u username -p database_name < dumpfile.sql Enter password: ERROR 1007 (HY000) at line 21: Can't create database 'database_name'; database exists How am I supposed to import the SQL dumpfile?

• How well are SVG filter elements defined?

  We are considering using SVG filters as part of our toolchain, serving the SVG to browsers capable of supporting it, while serving pre-rendered PNGs to other. One problem we noticed is that the rendering of the filter chains seems to be very inconsistent across renderers. When looking at the "filters01" example from the SVG specification, the rendering looks very different across the tools we tried. Chrome (5.0.307.11) failed to render the image, while other tools (Firefox 3.6, Opera 10.10, Inkscape 0.47, GIMP 2.6.7) render something vaguely similar in style to the picture in the specification, but no two are truly the same. Is that an issue of under-specification or are the tools just not there? If we would use SVG with filter effects: is there a reference tool that can give us a rendering the way it is intended by the spec?

• How safe am I signing into Google Spreadsheets with yeroon.net/ggplot2

  I am impressed by what I have seen of yeroon.net/ggplot2 which is a web interface for Hadley Wickham's R package ggplot2. I want to try it out on my own data. The part that has me very excited is that one can use data stored in one's own Google spreadsheet as the data. One just signs into their Google Account so that yeroon.net/ggplot2 can access the spreadsheet list. I have been hesitant to do it. If I sign in whilst on yeroon.net am I handing over my username and password to a third party? It would not be wise of me to divulge my google password to third parties since Google is fast becoming my repository of everything. How do I know if Jeroon's application is using ClientLogin or OAuth? My understanding is very basic and may be wrong but nevertheless here it is. OAuth would be better since it does not actually pass the password onto the third party application.

When I run my CVS command, it fails to connect: cvs -td :pserver:[email protected]:443/cvsroot/tools checkout mylyn -> main: Session ID is w4PO5KiMwQmaD6uu -> main loop with CVSROOT=/cvsroot/tools -> safe_location( where=(null) ) -> open_connection_to_server (:pserver:[email protected]:443/cvsroot/tools) -> Connecting to proxy.eclipse.org(206.191.52.48):443. cvs [checkout aborted]: unrecognized auth response from proxy.eclipse.org: SSH-1.99-OpenSSH_4.2 Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?
