• Android ScrollView jumps around when setting child visibility to View.GONE

  I have a ScrollView that contains an number of other views (TextViews, ImageViews, etc.). The ScrollView is taller than the screen. I have an AsyncTask that updates the children of the ScrollView based on an http response. I've discovered an interesting behavior that I can't figure out how to work around. If I set any of the children's visibilities to View.INVISIBLE as part of the AsyncTask.onPostExecute(), everything works fine. However, if I set any of the children's visibilities to View.GONE, the ScrollView jumps down from the top when onPostExecute() is called. Exactly how far seems to vary. I'm guessing that re-laying out the ScrollView is causing it to scroll away from the top for some reason. So the question is: is there a way to either prevent or work around this behavior? PS. Using ScrollView.jump(FOCUS_UP) as a workaround isn't ideal since that'll force the user to the top even if they had intended to scroll down.

• 10035 error on a blocking socket

  Does anyone have any idea what could cause a 10035 error (EWOULDBLOCK) when reading on a blocking socket with a timeout? This is under Windows XP using the .NET framework version 3.5 socket library. I've never managed to get this myself, but one of my colleagues is getting it all the time. He's sending reasonably large amounts of data to a much slower device and then waiting for a response, which often gives a 10035 error. I'm wondering if there could be issues with TCP buffers filling up, but in that case I would expect the read to wait or timeount. The socket is definitely blocking, not non-blocking.

  I have a news feed where items in the feed are created from JSON returned from a server. When the user takes an action on an item, I want to remove it from the object via javascript.   Hi - we are all familiar with "embedding" PHP scripts in HTML pages to do tasks like displaying form results, but how can that be done in a way that displays XML?   Hi, Excuse my limited knoweldge here. In the past I have used Steve Sanderson's method to HTML encode by default at runtime: http://blog.stevensanderson.com/2007/12/19/aspnet-mvc-prevent-xss-with-automatic-html-encoding/ I have a need to alter img src and a href attributes before they are spat out in the user's browser. There is a solution using JavaScript but this is not ideal for several reasons. Intercepting the compiler is not an option because of unnecessarily using Response.Write for trivial HTML. Is there something I can do with HTTP modules or the view engine? Any thoughts? Cheers.

• Oracle 10g - JAXB unmarshalling is not working as expected

  We're using Oracle 10g application server and deployed the Web service and trying to deploy the web service client. Server is working fine i.e.; marshalling is working fine. We're getting the output from the service properly but the search client is not unmarshalling (parsing) the response received. We're using all the tags under same name space so there is no name space problem. Different collections would exists in the XSD. Has anyone faced similar kind of issue? • PHP app with cookie less session does not work

  I am trying to use PHP session without using cookies. I have enabled session.use_trans_sid and disabled session.use_cookies in my php.ini file. I have also disabled cookies in my firefox browser. Now, when I browse my home page, I do not see the HTTP set cookie header in the server response to my page request (using Live HTTP headers). My understanding is that PHP will append session IDs to my request URL when cookies are disabled. Am I doing something wrong? BTW, I am aware using session IDs is not a recommended approach.

• Webservice won't accept JSON requests

  Hi, The main issue is that I cannot run a webservice that accepts requests in JSON format. I keep getting a 500 Server error stating that the "request format is invalid." My ASP.NET AJAX extensions are installed. My server is running Plesk Control Panel 8.6 which is undoubtedly causing these problems. The default handler for this specified extension is shown in the web.config like so: For my applications webservice to handle JSON it needs to have this reference: <add name="ScriptHandlerFactory" verb="*" path="*.asmx" preCondition="integratedMode" type="System.Web.Script.Services.ScriptHandlerFactory, System.Web.Extensions, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31BF3856AD364E35"/> Plesk is not allowing the request to be handled properly.   I have a folder on my web server that has hundreds of mp3 files in it. I would like to provide the option for a user to download a zipped archive of every mp3 in the directory from a web page. I want to compress the files programmatically only when needed. Because the zip file will be quite large, I am thinking that I will need to send the zip file to the response stream as it is being zipped, for performance reasons. Is this possible? How can I do it?

I use commons-fileupload but the iterator (see snippet) returns false (only when included in the seam-app). • Batch file to wait for other program to load/initialize, then execute command?

  I need some assistance writing what should be a fairly basic .BAT file. I load my main program, but that program takes ~20secs to load and be initialized. I have another command-line API I can execute to interact with this above program, but obviously until the above program is loaded and initialized there's no point in trying. If the program isn't running the command-line API returns a string stating exactly this - otherwise it just works and exits. Easy. So I want to wait until the above is loaded/initialized before firing my API command(s) at it. I could place a sleep/wait in there, but I want something more solid. The ~20sec wait is not necessarily consistent. Any way to execute the command-line API over and over until the response is satisfactory, then exit? J

• [PHP] DOMDocument load on a page returning 400 Bad Request status

  Hiya, I'm trying to use the Last.fm API for an application I'm creating, but am having some problems with validation. If an API request gives an error it returns a code and message in the response XML like this: <lfm status="failed"> <error code="6">No user with that name</error> </lfm> However, the request also returns an HTTP status of 400 (or in some cases 403) which DOMDocument considers an error and so then refuses to parse the XML. Is there any way round this, so that I can retrieve the error code and message? Thanks Pete

• Visual studio: automatically update C++ cpp/header file when the other is changed?

  For example, if I change the signature in a function in either the header or the cpp, I'd like it to automatically change in the other one. If I add a new function in either, it should appear in both. If I delete a function, it could probably comment out the other one. Manually having to duplicate one's changes seems silly. Some people have mentioned http://www.lazycplusplus.com/ in response to a similar question, but it seems that that's a command line tool which would require saving and then running this external tool on a particular file. That's still more manual steps than I would have thought were necessary; I'd like this to apply changes as I type.

  Hi. I'm trying to check out the Mylyn project from Eclipse. However, I can't use Eclipse to check out the projects and am having to do it via the command line. I'm behind a firewall so am basing my attempt on http://wiki.eclipse.org/CVS_Howto#CVS_and_firewalls. I'm not very familiar with CVS.
