  • Check for duplicate rows in 2 columns before update

    - by user3891378
    I have a table with 4 columns, and I need to check to see if a Column Pair exists before inserting a row into the database: INSERT INTO dbo.tblCallReport_Detail (fkCallReport, fkProductCategory, Discussion, Action) VALUES (?, ?, ?, ?) The pair in question is fkCallReport and fkProductCategory. For example if the row trying to be inserted has fkCallReport = 3 and fkProductCategory = 5, and the database already has both of those values together, it should display an error and ask if they would like to combine the Disuccsion and Action with the current record. Keep in mind I'm doing this in VBA Access 2010 and am still very new.

While searching I got 2 values - height1 and height2 which are basically the ranges. How can i search in that table with the ranges? say - i will give ranges 5ft 1in to 5ft 10in and want to get the data between those values. I am using php. Please help me about this. thanks.

  • Getting the dynamic value of a checkbox in repeating region loop with Jquery

    - by John
    How do I get the values of a check box that is in a repeating region with its values dynamically generated from a recordset from the database.I want to retrieve the value when it is checked and after I click on a link.The problem is that it is retrieving only the first value of the recordset which is 1.This is the code: //jQuery $(document).ready(function(){ $("#clickbtn").click(function(){ $("input[type=checkbox][checked]").each(function(){ var value=$("#checkid").attr('value'); $("#textfield").attr('value',value); }); return false; }); }); //html <td width="22"><form id="form1" name="form1" method="post" action=""> <input type="checkbox" name="checkid" id="checkid" value="<?php echo $row_people['NameID']; ?>" /> </form></td> I would appreciate the help.

  • Combining IN and NOT IN in SQL as single result

    - by UltraVi01
    I apologize for the vague title. I am attempting to write a query that returns an alias column with matching values (resulting from an IN) as well as an alias column with values that do not match (using NOT IN). I want the result set to have: userId | matches | nonmatches. I currently have the following query which returns the matches as expected. I am having trouble getting the nonmatches in the result set -- that is, from a NOT IN statement SET @userId = 9; SELECT ug.user_id, COUNT(DISTINCT goal_id) as matches FROM user_goal ug WHERE ug.user_id!=@userId AND goal_id IN (SELECT iug.goal_id FROM user_goal iug WHERE user_id=@userId) GROUP BY user_id ORDER BY matches DESC LIMIT 4 So, the NOT IN would look something like this: goal_id NOT IN(SELECT uggg.goal_id FROM user_goal uggg WHERE user_id=@userId) AS nonmatches I am just not sure how to incorporate the NOT IN statement in my query so I get all the results

  • Same Salt, Different Encrypted Password is not working? Using Linq to update password.

    - by Xaisoft
    Hello, I am running into a wall regarding changing the password and was wondering if anyone had any ideas. Here are the database values prior to changing the password: Clear Text password = abc1980 Encrypted Password = Yn1N5l+4AUqkOM3WYO7ww/sCN+o= Salt = 82qVIhUIoblBRIRvFSZ1fw== After I change my password to abc1973, salt remains the same, but the Encrypted Password changes which is supposed to happen: Encrypted Password = rHtjLq3qxAl/7T1GfkxrsHzPsNk= However, when I try to login with abc1973 as the password, it does not login. If I try abc1980, it logs me in. It is updating the database, is it caching the values somewhere? Any ideas?

  • Why is there garbage in my TCHAR, even after ZeroMemory()?

    - by samoz
    I have inherited the following line of code: TCHAR temp[300]; GetModuleFileName(NULL, temp, 300); However, this fails as the first 3 bytes are filled with garbage values (always the same ones though, -128, -13, 23, in that order). I said, well fine and changed it to: TCHAR temp[300]; ZeroMemory(temp, 300); GetModuleFileName(NULL, temp, 300); but the garbage values persisted! Can someone explain what is going on and how to fix it?

  • Python: What's a correct and good way to implement __hash__()?

    - by random-name
    What's a correct and good way to implement hash()? I am talking about the function that returns a hashcode that is then used to insert objects into hashtables aka dictionaries. As hash() returns an integer and is used for "binning" objects into hashtables I assume that the values of the returned integer should be uniformly distributed for common data (to minimize collisions). What's a good practice to get such values? Are collisions a problem? In my case I have a small class which acts as a container class holding some ints, some floats and a string.

  • Backbone.js Model validation fails to prevent Model from saving

    - by Benjen
    I have defined a validate method for a Backbone.js Model. The problem is that even if validation fails (i.e. the Model.validate method returns a value) the post/put request is still sent to the server. This contradicts what is explained in the Backbone.js documentation. I cannot understand what I am doing wrong. The following is the Model definition: /** * Model - Contact */ var Contact = Backbone.Model.extend({ urlRoot: '/contacts.json', idAttribute: '_id', defaults: function() { return { surname: '', given_name: '', org: '', phone: new Array(), email: new Array(), address: new Array({ street: '', district: '', city: '', country: '', postcode: '' }) }; } validate: function(attributes) { if (typeof attributes.validationDisabled === 'undefined') { var errors = new Array(); // Validate surname. if (_.isEmpty(attributes.surname) === true) { errors.push({ type: 'form', attribute: 'surname', message: 'Please enter a surname.' }); } // Validate emails. if (_.isEmpty(attributes.email) === false) { var emailRegex = /^[a-z0-9._%+-]+@[a-z0-9.-]+\.[a-z]{2,6}$/i; // Stores indexes of email values which fail validation. var emailIndex = new Array(); _.each(attributes.email, function(email, index) { if (emailRegex.test(email.value) === false) { emailIndex.push(index); } }); // Create error message. if (emailIndex.length > 0) { errors.push({ type: 'form', attribute: 'email', index: emailIndex, message: 'Please enter valid email address.' }); } } if (errors.length > 0) { console.log('Form validation failed.'); return errors; } } } }); Here is the View which calls the Model.save() method (see: method saveContact() below). Note that other methods belonging to this View have not been included below for reasons of brevity. /** * View - Edit contact form */ var EditContactFormView = Backbone.View.extend({ initialize: function() { _.bindAll(this, 'createDialog', 'formError', 'render', 'saveContact', 'updateContact'); // Add templates. this._editFormTemplate = _.template($('#edit-contact-form-tpl').html()); this._emailFieldTemplate = _.template($('#email-field-tpl').html()); this._phoneFieldTemplate = _.template($('#phone-field-tpl').html()); // Get URI of current page. this.currentPageUri = this.options.currentPageUri; // Create array to hold references to all subviews. this.subViews = new Array(); // Set options for new or existing contact. this.model = this.options.model; // Bind with Model validation error event. this.model.on('error', this.formError); this.render(); } /** * Deals with form validation errors */ formError: function(model, error) { console.log(error); }, saveContact: function(event) { var self = this; // Prevent submit event trigger from firing. event.preventDefault(); // Trigger form submit event. eventAggregator.trigger('submit:contactEditForm'); // Update model with form values. this.updateContact(); // Enable validation for Model. Done by unsetting validationDisabled // attribute. This setting was formerly applied to prevent validation // on Model.fetch() events. See this.model.validate(). this.model.unset('validationDisabled'); // Save contact to database. this.model.save(this.model.attributes, { success: function(model, response) { if (typeof response.flash !== 'undefined') { Messenger.trigger('new:messages', response.flash); } }, error: function(model, response) { console.log(response); throw error = new Error('Error occured while trying to save contact.'); } }, { wait: true }); }, /** * Extract form values and update Contact. */ updateContact: function() { this.model.set('surname', this.$('#surname-field').val()); this.model.set('given_name', this.$('#given-name-field').val()); this.model.set('org', this.$('#org-field').val()); // Extract address form values. var address = new Array({ street: this.$('input[name="street"]').val(), district: this.$('input[name="district"]').val(), city: this.$('input[name="city"]').val(), country: this.$('input[name="country"]').val(), postcode: this.$('input[name="postcode"]').val() }); this.model.set('address', address); } });

  • Can't figure out what's wrong with my php/sql statement

    - by Olegious
    So this is probably a dumb beginner question, but I've been looking at it and can't figure it out. A bit of background: just practicing making a web app, a form on page 1 takes in some values from the user, posts them to the next page which contains the code to connect to the DB and populate the relevant tables. I establish the DB connection successfully, here's the code that contains the query: $conn->query("SET NAMES 'utf9'"); $query_str = "INSERT INTO 'qa'.'users' ('id', 'user_name','password' ,'email' ,'dob' ,'sx') VALUES (NULL, $username, $password, $email, $dob, $sx);"; $result = @$conn->query($query_str); Here's the error that is returned:Insert query failed: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ''qa'.'users' ('id', 'user_name' ,'password' ,'email' ,'dob' ,'s' at line 1 Thanks in advance!

  • numberOfSectionsInTable isn't called when [arr count] is returned

    - by user315471
    When I try returning the count of my newsItems array it breaks my application. I used NSLog to find out what the value of the newsItems count was when I returned 1. • Accessing object's method within string

    - by Wild One
    Recently I was reading php documentation and found interesting note in string section: Functions, method calls, static class variables, and class constants inside {$} work since PHP 5. However, the value accessed will be interpreted as the name of a variable in the scope in which the string is defined. Using single curly braces ({}) will not work for accessing the return values of functions or methods or the values of class constants or static class variables. See www.php.net/manual/en/language.types.string.php It says, that I can't use curly syntax to get value returned by object's method call. Is it a mistake in manual or I misunderstood it, because I tried the following code and it works just fine: <?php class HelloWorld { public static function hello() { echo 'hello'; } } $a = new HelloWorld(); echo "{$a->hello()} world";

  • 1-DimArray Counting same elements (0,1)

    - by Chris
    Hello, I have a 1-dim array that fills up a table of 40 random elements (all the values are either 0 or 1). So i wanne "count" the largest row of the values net to each otherto each other.. Meaning for example : 111100101 = the longest row would be 1111 (= 4 elements of the same kind closest to each other). So 011100 would result in the longest row being 3 elements (3 x 1). My problem i have no idea how to check upon the "next element" and check if its a 0 or 1. Like the first would be 1111 (count 4) but the next would be a 0 value = meaning i have to stop counting. My idea was placing this value (4) in a other array (example: 111100101) , and place the value of the 1's back on zero. And start the process all over again. To find the largest value i have made a other method that checks up the biggest value in the array that keeps track of the count of 0's 1's, this is not the problem. But i cannot find a way to fill the array tabelLdr up. (having all the values of the group of elements of the same kind (being 0 or 1). In the code below i have 2 if's and offcourse it will never go into the second if (to check if the next value in the array is != then its current state (being 0 or 1) Best Regards. public void BerekenDeelrij(byte[] tabel, byte[] tabelLdr) { byte LdrNul = 0, Ldréén = 0; //byte teller = 0; for (byte i = 0; i < tabel.Length; i++) { if (tabel[i] == 0) { LdrNul++; //this 2nd if cleary does not work, but i have no idea how to implend this sort of idea in my program. if (tabel[i] == 1) //if value != 0 then the total value gets put in the second array tabelLdr, { tabelLdr[i] = LdrNul; LdrNul = 0; } } if (tabel[i] == 1) { Ldréén++; if (tabel[i] == 0) { tabelLdr[i] = Ldréén; Ldréén = 0; } } }/*for*/ }

  • Best neural network for certain type of pattern analysis?

    - by fred basset
    Hi All, I'm working on a system that will send telemetry data on machine operation back to a central server for analysis. One of the machine parameters we're measuring is motor current drawn vs time. After an operation is finished we plan to send back an array of currents vs time to the server. A successful operation would have a pattern like a trapezoid, problematic operations would have a pattern completely different, more like a large spike in values. Can anyone recommend a type of neural network that would be good at classifying these 1D vectors of current values into a pass/fail type output? Thanks, Fred

  • files get uploaded just before they get cancelled

    - by user1763986
    Got a little situation here where I am trying to cancel a file's upload. What I have done is stated that if the user clicks on the "Cancel" button, then it will simply remove the iframe so that it does not go to the page where it uploads the files into the server and inserts data into the database. Now this works fine if the user clicks on the "Cancel" button in quickish time the problem I have realised though is that if the user clicks on the "Cancel" button very late, it sometimes doesn't remove the iframe in time meaning that the file has just been uploaded just before the user has clicked on the "Cancel" button. So my question is that is there a way that if the file does somehow get uploaded before the user clicks on the "Cancel" button, that it deletes the data in the database and removes the file from the server? Below is the image upload form: <form action="imageupload.php" method="post" enctype="multipart/form-data" target="upload_target_image" onsubmit="return imageClickHandler(this);" class="imageuploadform" > <p class="imagef1_upload_process" align="center"> Loading...<br/> <img src="Images/loader.gif" /> </p> <p class="imagef1_upload_form" align="center"> <br/> <span class="imagemsg"></span> <label>Image File: <input name="fileImage" type="file" class="fileImage" /></label><br/> <br/> <label class="imagelbl"><input type="submit" name="submitImageBtn" class="sbtnimage" value="Upload" /></label> </p> <p class="imagef1_cancel" align="center"> <input type="reset" name="imageCancel" class="imageCancel" value="Cancel" /> </p> <iframe class="upload_target_image" name="upload_target_image" src="#" style="width:0px;height:0px;border:0px;solid;#fff;"></iframe> </form> Below is the jquery function which controls the "Cancel" button: $(imageuploadform).find(".imageCancel").on("click", function(event) { $('.upload_target_image').get(0).contentwindow $("iframe[name='upload_target_image']").attr("src", "javascript:'<html></html>'"); return stopImageUpload(2); }); Below is the php code where it uploads the files and inserts the data into the database. The form above posts to this php page "imageupload.php": <body> <?php include('connect.php'); session_start(); $result = 0; //uploads file move_uploaded_file($_FILES["fileImage"]["tmp_name"], "ImageFiles/" . $_FILES["fileImage"]["name"]); $result = 1; //set up the INSERT SQL query command to insert the name of the image file into the "Image" Table $imagesql = "INSERT INTO Image (ImageFile) VALUES (?)"; //prepare the above SQL statement if (!$insert = $mysqli->prepare($imagesql)) { // Handle errors with prepare operation here } //bind the parameters (these are the values that will be inserted) $insert->bind_param("s",$img); //Assign the variable of the name of the file uploaded $img = 'ImageFiles/'.$_FILES['fileImage']['name']; //execute INSERT query $insert->execute(); if ($insert->errno) { // Handle query error here } //close INSERT query $insert->close(); //Retrieve the ImageId of the last uploded file $lastID = $mysqli->insert_id; //Insert into Image_Question Table (be using last retrieved Image id in order to do this) $imagequestionsql = "INSERT INTO Image_Question (ImageId, SessionId, QuestionId) VALUES (?, ?, ?)"; //prepare the above SQL statement if (!$insertimagequestion = $mysqli->prepare($imagequestionsql)) { // Handle errors with prepare operation here echo "Prepare statement err imagequestion"; } //Retrieve the question number $qnum = (int)$_POST['numimage']; //bind the parameters (these are the values that will be inserted) $insertimagequestion->bind_param("isi",$lastID, 'Exam', $qnum); //execute INSERT query $insertimagequestion->execute(); if ($insertimagequestion->errno) { // Handle query error here } //close INSERT query $insertimagequestion->close(); ?> <!--Javascript which will output the message depending on the status of the upload (successful, failed or cancelled)--> <script> window.top.stopImageUpload(<?php echo $result; ?>, '<?php echo $_FILES['fileImage']['name'] ?>'); </script> </body> UPDATE: Below is the php code "cancelimage.php" where I want to delete the cancelled file from the server and delete the record from the database. It is set up but not finished, can somebody finish it off so I can retrieve the name of the file and it's id using $_SESSION? <?php // connect to the database include('connect.php'); /* check connection */ if (mysqli_connect_errno()) { printf("Connect failed: %s\n", mysqli_connect_error()); die(); } //remove file from server unlink("ImageFiles/...."); //need to retrieve file name here where the ... line is //DELETE query statement where it will delete cancelled file from both Image and Image Question Table $imagedeletesql = " DELETE img, img_q FROM Image AS img LEFT JOIN Image_Question AS img_q ON img_q.ImageId = img.ImageId WHERE img.ImageFile = ?"; //prepare delete query if (!$delete = $mysqli->prepare($imagedeletesql)) { // Handle errors with prepare operation here } //Dont pass data directly to bind_param store it in a variable $delete->bind_param("s",$img); //execute DELETE query $delete->execute(); if ($delete->errno) { // Handle query error here } //close query $delete->close(); ?> Can you please provide an sample code in your answer to make it easier for me. • Make a simulation using python

    - by user3727759
    I am new to programming and using python. What I am trying to do is create a simulation of a thermostat system by using python. Is there a way to create a program that I can input data, for example temperature and humidity values and then have python constantly plotting the data as I enter the values. This is to simulate a device gathering data and sending it to this program and having it being plotted. I have found ways to plot data by using matplotlib but I have not been able to find a way that I can input the data and have the plot upgrade constantly. Thanks any advise is appreciated.

  • Possible to add hook as android fetches XML-strings?

    - by user247245
    I'm on my first week with android and would appreciate any insight if it's possible to hook or override the default behaviour when an android application reads their values from the resource-files to the shown layouts. What I want is to over time be able to add new/updated strings OTA and store locally and then on launch of application load new values instead of the ones in the default /res. Ideally i guess, would be an override of setContentView. Files holding updates will be in same xml-format as those in /res. (Please, no advices in other ways to do this. Just need to know if it's at all possible, without hacking the SDK) regards, /t

  • mysql result for pagination

    - by Reteras Remus
    The query is: SELECT * FROM `news` ORDER BY `id` LIMIT ($curr_page * 5), ( ($curr_page * 5) + 5 ) Where $curr_page is a php variable which is getting a value from $_GET['page'] I want to make a pagination (5 news on each page), but I don't know why the mysql is returning me extra values. On the first page the result ok: $curr_page = 0 The query would be: SELECT * FROM `news` ORDER BY `id` LIMIT 0, 5 But on the second page, the result from the query is adding extra news, 10 instead of 5. The query on the second page: SELECT * FROM `news` ORDER BY `id` LIMIT 5, 10 Whats wrong? Why the result has 10 values instead of 5? Thank you!

  • ASP.net PreInit() Vs Init()

    From local forum i understood that PreInit can be used to handle the following PreInit() >Master pages can be called dynamically >Themes can be set dynamically >Programatically add controls to controls collection and i read Init() is for Init() In this event, we can read the controls properties (set at design time). We cannot read control values changed by the user because that changed value will get loaded after LoadPostData() event fires. Question I am not getting the point "We cannot read control values changed by the user".Where do users change the value of control?.Example would help me to understand the point.

  • Does Java have "properties" that work the same way properties work in C# (see the body of my text)?

    - by tyrone302
    In C#, you can use properties to make a data field publicly accessible (allowing the user to directly access it), and yet retain the ability to perform data validation on those directly-accessed fields. Doese Java have something similar? For Instance, suppose there exists a C# class with the following implementation(see below): public class newInt{ public newInt(){...} public int x{ get{ return this.x } set{ this.x = isValid(value) } } } private static int isValid(int value){...} This definition in the class allows the user to "naturally" use the data field 'x' when retrieving values from it and assigning values to it. Below is how it would be used in main. public class Test{ public static void main(String[] args){ newInt a = new newInt(); a.x = 50; int b = a.x; } } The question is... can java do this as well? if so, what is it called?

  • SQL Server dynamic pivot table

    - by user972255
    In SQL Server, I have two tables TableA and TableB, based on these I need to generate a report which is kind of very complex and after doing some research I come to a conclusion that I have to go with SQL Pivot table but I dont have any idea about the SQL Pivot feature so, can anyone please help me on this. Please see the details below: Create table TableA ( ProjectID INT NOT NULL, ControlID INT NOT NULL, ControlCode Varchar(2) NOT NULL, ControlPoint Decimal NULL, ControlScore Decimal NULL, ControlValue Varchar(50) ) Sample Data ------------- ProjectID | ControlID | ControlCode | ControlPoint | ControlScore | ControlValue P001 1 A 30.44 65 Invalid P001 2 C 45.30 85 Valid Create table TableB ( ControlID INT NOT NULL, ControlChildID INT NOT NULL, ControlChildValue Varchar(200) NULL ) Sample Data ------------ ControlID | ControlChildID | ControlChildValue 1 100 Yes 1 101 No 1 102 NA 1 103 Others 2 104 Yes 2 105 SomeValue Output should be in a single row for a given ProjectID with all its Control values first & followed by child control values (based on the ControlCode (i.e.) ControlCode_Child (1, 2, 3...) and it should look like this

  • how-to initialize 'const std::vector<T>' like a c array

    - by vscharf
    Is there an elegant way to create and initialize a const std::vector<const T> like const T a[] = { ... } to a fixed (and small) number of values? I need to call a function frequently which expects a vector<T>, but these values will never change in my case. In principle I thought of something like namespace { const std::vector<const T> v(??); } since v won't be used outside of this compilation unit.
