• How do I detach a local SVN working copy?

  I cannot just rm -rf $(find . -name '.svn'), because I've got some directories in my working copy which are unversioned (on svn:ignore) and at the same time working copies of other svn repositories. my-repo |+ directory ||- .svn (to delete) ||- files... |+ another_directory ||- .svn (to delete) ||- files... |+ directory_ignored (svn:ignore) ||- .svn (different working copy) ||- more files ... So I'd like to just tell subversion to remove all .svn directories belonging to this working copy only. Is this possible? The directory structure is quite complex, so doing it manually would really suck.

  I am using VBScript to copy files using xcopy. The problem is that the folder path has to be entered by the user. Assuming I put that path in a variable, say h, how do I use this variable in the xcopy command?   I am looking to create a web-project that is able to install with a program. The user should be able to download an archive file or tar file, run it (executable), and the setup script would ask for paths and configurable values and then unpack its 'payload' and sorting out the contents for deployment. This would be a Linux version of the MSI installer. Is there such a thing for Linux operating systems? This does not involve kernel level manipulations. All it needs to do is copy directories and files on the filesystem, which should cover about 80% if not more of all the *nix distributions.

  Im trying to use rake in a project, and if I put everything into Rakefile it will be huge and hard to read/find things, so I tried to stick each namesapce in its own file in lib/rake, i added this to the top of my rake file: Dir['#{File.dirname(__FILE__)}/lib/rake/*.rake'].map { |f| require f } it loads the file no problem, but doesn't have the tasks. I only have one .rake file as a test for now called "servers.rake" and it looks like this: namespace :server do task :test do puts "test" end end so when I run rake server:test id expect to see one line appear saying "test", instead I get rake aborted! Don't know how to build task 'server:test' at first I thought my codes wrong but if I copy the contents of lib/rake/servers.rake into Rakefile it works fine. How do I get rake tasks to work that are in another file?

  I have few web applications run on the Tomcat server. Each application contains its own log4j library copy inside its own war. This allows for separate, flexible logging configuration per application. I also have few shared libraries (kept in Tomcat's shared libraries directory). I would like to have shared library loggers output among with the application (which uses them) loggers output (for example: if application A logs to file a.log, and uses library b.jar, I would like b.jar to log also to the a.log file). The problem is, that the shared libraries are loaded by the shared classloader, which causes that they can't access loggers defined by the applications. Is there any solution for this issue?

  Consider This: I have folder called \SQLCE35Dlls inside my solution. It has some dlls that are required for application to interact with a SQLCE database in a stand alone fashion [without sql server ce 35 install on the PC]. After a build, I want these files to go to bin/debug and not to bin/debug/SQLCE35Dlls/. Setting "Copy if Newer" creates the latter situation. I want the former. Is it possible to facilitate this or does this have to done as part of the installer script? [avoiding the solution of adding the dlls at the root level of the solution instead of inside a folder]. This is a Winforms project solution.

  I am trying to copy C source files from a vms alpha to a windows machine to allow easier editing of the code. (VMS editor is just a text editor and it would be nice to have syntax highlighting etc) I can copy this across using Exceed FTP and this handles the issue of duplicate filenames with version suffix that vms has: File.c;1 File.c;2 Flle.c;3 But when I open a file I've transferred, all the line breaks have been lost and the entire file is just one line. Can anyone recommend a solution to this or offer any hints? Thanks in advance ps. I need to be able to copy the files back to vms and still maintain format.

  For example on a high traffic web server. To reduce problems when switching a file I usually rename the old file out and then rename in the new file. I was told some time ago that renaming a file does not change the 'inode data' so that processes reading the file can keep doing so without glitches. And, of course, rather than copying in the new file it is faster and safer to rename a temp copy. Is this still best practice and if not what do you do?

• How do I display data in a table and allow users to copy selected data?

  Hi I have a long list of data that I want to display in table format to users. The data changes when the user performs certain actions in my app, but it is not directly editable. So the user can create a reasonably big table of data, but he can't change individual cells' values. However, I do want the data to be copy-able. So I want it to be possible for the user to select some or all of the cells, and do a ctrl-C to copy the data to his clipboard, and then a ctrl-V to paste the data to an external text editor. At the moment, I'm displaying the data in a ListView with a GridView and this works perfectly, except that GridView doesn't allow one to copy data. What other options can I try? Ours is a WPF app, coding in c#.

• Reading files from an embedded ZIP archive

  I have a ZIP archive that's embedded inside a larger file. I know the archive's starting offset within the larger file and its length. Are there any Java libraries that would enable me to directly read the files contained within the archive? I am thinking along the lines of ZipFile.getInputStream(). Unfortunately, ZipFile doesn't work for this use case since its constructors require a standalone ZIP file. For performance reasons, I cannot copy the ZIP achive into a separate file before opening it. edit: Just to be clear, I do have random access to the file.

  I'm looking for a diff tool that will allow me to compare just a sub-section of a file with a section of another file, or even of itself. Preferably eclipse based but will take all suggestions. Yes I know I can copy out the two sections into different files and compare those, but that is very tedious when you are trying to do a large amount of refactoring. Basically I'm trying to remove as much duplicated code as possible from a code base that is suffering from a great deal of ctrl-V 'inheritance' ;-) However the pasted parts have evolved apart a little over time.

  I have a C++ DLL that imports a .tlb file generated in a C# project. The C++ DLL is a wrapper DLL containing functions that call the corresponding C# functions. When I call the C++ functions on the computer that I built the projects, all works well. But when I copy the DLL's and generated tlb's to another computer with the same exact version of Windows and installed programs andI call the C++ functions, it breaks with a COM error. However, after recompiling the projects on the new computer, everything works again. I already checked the "Work on All Computers" for both projects but this keeps happening. What else do I need to do for the DLL's to work on all computers?

• Multiplying two matrices from two text files with unknown dimensions

  This is my first post here. I've been working on this c++ question for a while now and have gotten nowhere. Maybe you guys can give me some hints to get me started. My program has to read two .txt files each containing one matrix. Then it has to multiply them and output it to another .txt file. My confusion here though is how the .txt files are setup and how to get the dimensions. Here is an example of matrix 1.txt. #ivalue #jvalue value 1 1 1.0 2 2 1 The dimension of the matrix is 2x2. 1.0 0 0 1 Before I can start multiplying these matrices I need to get the i and j value from the text file. But now I am running into another problem. In matrix B it is setup like: #ivalue #jvalue Value 1 1 0.1 1 2 0.2 2 1 0.3 2 2 0.4 I need to let the program know that it needs to go down 4 lines, maybe even more (The matrices dimensions are unknown. My matrix B example is a 2x2, but it could be a 20x20). I have a while(!file.eof()) loop my program to let it loop until the end of file.   Hi there, How do I copy data from all the workbooks in the folder onto workbook 1 into it's corresponding row groups? The attached images shows the sample worksheet is the file I want to paste data into (main template) and wb2 sample is a sample of one of the worksheets in the folder that I want to copy data from. As you can see, the workbook 2 does not include all of the tasks. So I need to copy all of the data from workbook 2 and paste it on the corresponding row group (col A) on original workbook. I then need to do this for all workbooks in the folder. Any help would be most appreciated!

  Got a very strange problem. I've got a working copy which is from a branch. When I commit any changes from this working copy, one single file in the working copy gets committed to the trunk. If I right-click this single file and click Commit the SVN URL displayed points to the /trunk and not the branch. How on earth could this happen? I used TortoiseSVN to create the branch in the first place. How can I fix this?

• grunt angularjs doesn't process video files

  I've set up my grunt file to copy, minify, uglify, revved and all that. It works fine with all media I use, except that recently I added a video to an html file, but it's not being copied to /dist, nor is the html being updated with the versioned file (that is not being copied nor revved).
