    I have to start a new project where user authentication/management will be required. A lot of websites use existing authentication mechanisms like facebook/twitter/openID/google/etc (even SO). While I might understand that they are used to simplify some parts of this workflow can someone enumerate the pluses and minuses of using one of these authentication mechanisms vs. an usual user creation and what should I look for when I do this?   • How to have multiple parts of a website in one page

    I want to make a website that will have multiple pages, but because of a unique navigation bar, I cannot simply link to a new file for each page. What is the best way to accomplish this. Some possibilities that I can think of are having all of them on one page, but using css and javascript to move the other pages offscreen, or using iframes and loading them with javascript. Could someone please direct me to some examples or tutorials?

I was wondering if someone can help me to parse the dates as my input file name is like file_1_2010_03_03.csv and i want my outputfile to be newfile_2010_03_03.xls is there a way to incorporate in matlab program so i do not have to manually write the command xlswrite('newfile_2010_03_03.xls', M); everytime and change the dates as i input files with diff dates like file_2_2010_03_04.csv. Has someone already solved this?

  • how to avoid jQuery UI draggable from also triggering click event

    A have a large div (a map) that is draggable via jQuery UI draggable. The div has child divs which are clickable. My problem is that if you drag the map, on mouse up, the click event is fired on whatever child div you started the drag from. How do I stop the mouse up from triggering the click event if its part of a drag (as opposed to someone just clicking without a drag, in which case the click event is desired).
