• Printable Version of Google Visualizations DataTable

  I have a custom routing application that takes information for a route from google maps. It then creates a Google Visualizations DataTable to hold all the steps in the route. My current problem is that in order to reduce overflow for very large routes, I have enabled paging in the options of the DataTable. This leads to a not so printer friendly version because only the portion of the data that is shown in the table will be printed. The other portions of the table are loaded dynamically by the API when you click prev and next. Is there a not so hard way to get the DataTable to be printer friendly when it comes time without sacrificing the ability to have paging enabled?

• require_owner code to limit controller actions not recognizing current user as owner

  I am trying to restrict access to certain actions using a before_filter which seems easy enough. Somehow the ApplicationController is not recognizing that the current_user is the owner of the user edit action. When I take the filter off the controller correctly routes the current_user to their edit view information. Here is the code. • cakephp why can't I have an admin route and a superuser route?

  In core.php I can define Configure::write('Routing.admin', 'admin'); and /admin/controller/index will work. but if I define both Configure::write('Routing.admin', 'admin'); Configure::write('Routing.superuser', 'superuser'); and try to look at /superuser/blah/index/ instead of it saying the controller doesn't exist it says Error: SuperuserController could not be found. instead of saying Error: BlahController could not be found. When I first read the documentation I was under the impression I could run both routes, and not just one or the other. Is there something more I need to do?

• Making id'less url in asp.net mvc razor

  I am working with URL routing , and have some issues. I want my url to be like this: www.domain.com/p/myproduct But I also want to be able to retrieve the ID of the product, without accessing the database. I thought about having a URL like: www.domain.com/p/myproduct/1 But if I could hide the ID it would be better. So, how do I do it the simplest way? Currently my Global.asax has the following route: routes.MapLocalizedRoute("Product", "p/{productId}/{SeName}", new { controller = "Catalog", action = "Product", SeName = UrlParameter.Optional }, new { productId = @"\d+" }, new[] { "Nop.Web.Controllers" });

• Rails 3 routing - what's best practice?

  Hi guys, I'm trying out Rails, and I've stumbled across an issue with my routing. I have a controller named "Account" (singular), which should handle various settings for the currently logged in user. class AccountController < ApplicationController def index end def settings end def email_settings end end How would I set-up the routes for this in a proper manner? At the moment I have: match 'account(/:action)', :to => 'account', :as => 'account' This however does not automagically produce methods like account_settings_path but only account_path Is there any better practice of doing this? Remember the Account controller doesn't represent a controller for an ActiveModel. If this is in fact the best practice, how would I generate links in my views for the actions? url_to :controller => :account, :action => :email_settings ? Thanks!

For you to have an idea, I'm trying to accomplish a sort "link button" in a search page. So, when the link is clicked, the page should be refreshed showing the list ordered as I tell it in the action.   I have an application_controller spec that is failing since I removed the controller/action route from routes.rb. I get the following error: No route matches {:controller=>"application", :action=>"index"} I had many tests fail in the same way, but was able to fix them by including the correct parameters in the get call. So for instance, if I wanted to get the standard show route for posts in my spec, I had to change get :show to get :show, :id => '1' Unfortunately, I'm not sure now what to pass along for the application controller specs.   I am trying to come up with the most efficient database as possible. My bus routes all have about 10 stops. The bus starts at number one until it reaches the 10th stop, then it comes back again. This cycle happens 3 times a day. I am really stuck as to how I can efficiently generate the times for the buses and where I should store the stops. If I put all the stops in one field and the times in another, the database won't be very dynamic. If I store all the stops one by one in a column and then the times in another column, there will be a lot of repeating happening further down as one stop has multiple times. Maybe I am missing something, I've only just started learning SQL and this is a task we have been set. Thanks in advance.

But if I do a right click in visual studio and "go to view" i get an error "unable to go to matching view". Is there anyway to solve this?

The problem I am facing is that the login action can be ignored and a "UrlParameter.Optional [ID]" can also be used. How exactly does this look in the RegisterRoutes collection? Or am I missing something totally obvious?   Just curious, I spent an embarrassing amount of time trying to get an array of all the records in a nested model. I just want to make sure there is not a better way. Here is the setup: I have three models that are nested under each other (Facilities Tags Inspections), producing code like this for routes.rb: map.resources :facilities do |facilities| facilities.resources :tags, :has_many => :inspections end I wanted to get all of the inspections for a facility and here is what my code ended up being: def facility_inspections @facility = Facility.find(params[:facility_id]) @inspections = [] @facility.tags.each do |tag| tag.inspections.each do |inspection| @inspections << inspection end end end It works but is this the best way to do this - I think it's cumbersome. My url is look like(http://localhost:2282/Blog/Archive/2010/5). So... it work correctly, infact it show all record that have year=2010 and month=5 but my problem is that when I use this url, images in total my site are no longer loading. I have this problem only with this url's type.   This question is related to this, hopefully better phrased. I would like to serve a custom 404 page from ASP.NET MVC. I have the route handler and all the infrastructure set up to ensure that nonexistent routes are handled by a single action: public ActionResult Handle404() { Response.StatusCode = 404; return View("NotFound"); } Problem: IIS serves back its own content (some predefined message) when I set Response.StatusCode to 404 before returning the content. On the VS development web server, this works as intended - the status code of the HTTP response is 404 while my content (the NotFound view) is served. I believe that when the IIS processing pipeline sees that the application returns 404, it simply replaces the whole response with its own. What setting in IIS affects this behavior? I do not have access to the IIS installation so I can not investigate this - however, I can ask the hosting provider to tweak the configuration for me if I know what exactly needs to be changed.

• Breadth first search all paths

  First of all, thank you for looking at this question. For a school assignment we're supposed to create a BFS algorithm and use it to do various things. One of these things is that we're supposed to find all of the paths between the root and the goal nodes of a graph. I have no idea how to do this as I can't find a way to keep track of all of the alternate routes without also including copies/cycles. Here is my BFS code: def makePath(predecessors, last): return makePath(predecessors, predecessors[last]) + [last] if last else [] def BFS1b(node, goal): Q = [node] predecessor = {node:None} while Q: current = Q.pop(0) if current[0] == goal: return makePath(predecessor, goal) for subnode in graph[current[0]][2:]: if subnode[0] not in predecessor: predecessor[subnode[0]] = current[0] Q.append(subnode[0]) A conceptual push in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. tl;dr How do I use BFS to find all of the paths between two nodes?

• What is Ruby's double-colon (::) all about?

  I'd probably be able to answer this for myself if "::" wasn't so hard to Google. Didn't see anything on SO so thought I'd try my luck. What is this double-colon :: all about? I see it everywhere in Rails: class User < ActiveRecord::Base or… ActionController::Routing::Routes.draw do |map| I found a definition from this guy: The :: is a unary operator that allows: constants, instance methods and class methods defined within a class or module, to be accessed from anywhere outside the class or module. but that just leads to more questions. What good is scope (private, protected) if you can just use :: to expose anything?
