    For a Linux or Windows system, what tricks do you do to optimize your Subversion server? The following are my current tricks for a Linux system serving over Apache with HTTPS and backed by Active Directory using LDAP authentication. Enabling KeepAlive on Apache Disable SVNPathAuthz Increase LDAP Cache Using the FSFS storage method instead of BDB Feel free to call this into question. I don't have hard proof that FSFS out performs BDB, only lots of tribal knowledge and hearsay.

  • Is it safe to run two instances of svnserve on one repository, or only one?

    We've two nodes running heartbeat/drbd, and one of the services we're using is subversion. What I want to know is: is it safe to run svnserve on both nodes all the time, or should it only run on the active node? Does svnserve use file-level locking, or is it all in memory? What are the implications of running svnserve without its repositories accessible? Please let me know if this isn't clear, and I'll try my best to rephrase/clarify. :)

I was hoping there was some software that I could run on our web server and a script that I could send out that would run the test and record the results to a central web interface.     VPN connection in vista is disabled with the message like "you need active internet connection"... but i'm connected to the internet. Same issue in win7 I'm regularly solving just opening and closing properties of VPN... in vista this method failed. Last time I enabled connection after 10 min of random clickin on different properties many times and refreshing ) There is any stable way to fix the bug?

    We want to install security cams at HQ site and 3 remotes sites. Basically: (1) Each site would have N cams (2) Each site should have DVR locally to record everything. What we want is that HQ to be able to see the live/recorded videos of each remote site and including itself. Preferably HQ would have 1 large screen, and display all cams of itself and remotes sites, say showing it in 32x32 cells. Does such system exists?

    I'm trying to record some of my work process in Camtasia using the stereo mix input. However, my headset microphone is quiet at the best of times, and no matter what combination of input and output volume settings I use, my voice is consistently inaudible. Know of a good fix for this? Should I be looking for a decent audio mixer--and if so, do you know of one that's as effective as it is free?

    I am sure I am not the only one that asked this question. we have a daily conf call that tanks place in a foreign country. too early to attend so I decided to use skype and record it automatically. I use Task Scheduler "c:\Program Files (x86)\Skype\Phone\Skype.exe"/callto:+XXXXXXXXXX,,,125 the dialer is supposed to dial the XX number and wait a few seconds (the ",") then dial the 125 access code. Unfortunatly Skype doesnt accept the "," pause Any solution ? thank you

When I add my exchange account to Outlook, it seems to work perfectly (sending/receiving email, syncing everything), but when I open the account settings it has the following set as the Server: [email protected] I would have expects this to be: mail.domain.com since this is the DNS A record pointing to the IP of my server. Where is it getting this server name?

  • IIS, SSL with client certs on web farm

    We're building a web service that will be deployed on an IIS 7.5 farm, and secured through SSL, and also requiring client certs that will be mapped to Active Directory accounts. My understanding is that the server cert needs to be generated for a specific server. If that is the case then we will need a server cert for each server in the farm. Because the farm will be load balanced, how do we generate client certs that will work with any of the servers in the farm?

Probably I misunderstood something while reading posts on Internet, but can someone help please?

    We are trying to run the Preparation Wizard for Essential Business Server 2008 and receive the following error. "A list of servers could not be collected from Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS). Ensure that your network is functioning correctly and that this computer can access AD DS." Our network is an Windows Server 2003 network with all of the services running fine. I can't run this from either a machine or a server. Any idea where we should start?

My DNS entries in Route53 are as follows: domain.com A xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 300 domain.com NS stuff.awsdns-47.org 172800 domain.com SOA stuff.awsdns-47.org 900 I would like to redirect traffic from www.domain.com to domain.com, as currently this just returns a 404. This question on SO suggested a PTR record, and I added that: www.domain.com PTR domain.com 300 but it didn't work. What should I be doing?

    There's this Cisco Catalyst 6509 switch with 2 (two) supervisor modules; one of them is active, the other is (almost always) in standby. We need to upgrade IOS; current version is 12.2.something (I can check exactly which one, if this does matter). Can this be done without service interruption?   • Change ISP and MX static ip but no mail

    We have recently changed our ISP, I have changed the MX record for our domain name to point to the new external static IP address for the router on the new ISP's connexion but I am not getting any mail (though sending works). Do I just have to wait will the change propagates? I am slightly concerned because I can connect to the web email service made visible through the new router, but not actually receive email. Have I missed something?

    I would like to know if there is a (cost free) way to backup Windows Server 2008 Active Directory and DNS settings without using Windows Server Backup. The problem stems from not having a seperate volume available to store the resulting backup from Windows Server Backup.   • dual boot with windows and linux

    hi, i have windows xp installed. Recently i installed suse linux and afterwhich suse linux is the main OS to be booted up. However suse rovide options to boot windows 1 (window xp) during boot up. If i uninstall suse linux (i've tried), windows won't be able to be booted up as the grub master boot will be corrupted. my question is: is there a software tool which can be booted on cd to modify the master boot record so as to reduce much effort??
