  • Using a hypercard file on a Windows machine

    Hello, my parents were cleaning out their house and found an old Mac Classic which I used a long time ago to run HyperCard. I made a couple things which I'd like to keep but I don't know what appliations will even run Hypercard files anymore. Also, I'm using a Windows computer now. Can anyone recommend an emulator or some way to convert it to something I can use on my Windows machine?

  • Set up heads up for two people

    Is there a way to set up a Mac or Linux so that one can connect two mice and two keyboards with both users having independent input on the screen with their respective mice and keyboards? I'd like to set up an environment for pairwise programming, and in particular have two developers be able to concurrently edit different documents on the same computer screen, but each person having different keyboards and mice. I'd be much obliged for any input and direction.

    I type echo $PATH on the command line and get /opt/local/bin:/opt/local/sbin:/Users/andrew/bin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/local/mysql/bin:/usr/local/pear/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/X11/bin:/opt/local/bin:/usr/local/git/bin I'm wondering where this is getting set since my .bash_login file is empty. I'm particularly concerned that, after installing MacPorts, it installed a bunch of junk in /opt. I don't think that directory even exists in a normal Mac OS X install.     I am looking for a utility that gives me the ability to specify a binary file format and then interpret a file of bytes according to that format. (Something along the lines of the 010 Editor, but infinitely more cost-effective). Something that runs on Mac OS X would be preferred, but I'm interested to see what all is out there in general (while more of a hassle I'd be willing to run a tool on Windows if it were superior.) However, the bridged network that VMware sets up connects my Airport interface in Mac to the wired interface eth0 in Ubuntu. How do I set it up so that the Airport interface is connected to the wireless interface eth1 in Ubuntu?

    Running apache on rhel server and sometimes I need to delete some files that I can not using my FTP program, because the FTP account I am logged into is not the apache user. I am on a Mac and there must be a way to accomplish this via terminal by either SSH'ing into the server.     I just upgraded a brand new Macbook Pro that I bought with 10.5 installed to Snow Leopard. After doing the upgrade I am trying to access NTFS partitions on my external hard drive but they are just not showing up. I went ahead and installed Windows 7 using Parallels, and I can access the NTFS partitions from within Windows, but not from Mac OS X. I know that Snow Leopard should be able to at least read NTFS drives, so what is going on here?

    Problem: I've set up a mail server using SASL authentication, and have given Mail.app (on Mac Os 10.4) the login information it needs to connect. I wrote a test message for it to deliver to my server: the Activity window shows that it tries to deliver the message, but then it simply stops, with no indication of error, except that the test message is left in the Outbox. How can I find out what went wrong? Is there some log file I don't know about?

I have a guest running Ubuntu 12.04 which can be accessed from the host via its IP address which is assigned by libvirt. The guest can also access the internet, no problem there.
