• jQuery pagination go to page on input value change

  I'm creating some pagination for my website, and want to use an input-element to navigate between pages. Like the following example: The input would require the "return" key to be hit for the script to trigger. If the value entered is not within range and alert would trigger. e.g. If there was 32 pages, "Please enter a value between 1 and 32" Can this be done using jQuery or javascript, by detecting the value change within the range of pages and redirecting to that page?   Must be really dumb today - sorry in advance; anyhow have this unordered list <ul> <li><div class="openuserform" >Info</div> <div class="userform"></div></li> <li><div class="openuserform" >Appearence</div> <div class="userform"></div></li> <li><div class="openuserform" >Pages</div> <div class="userform"></div></li> <li><div class="openuserform" >Services</div> <div class="userform"></div></li> <li><div class="openuserform" >Community</div> <div class="userform"></div></li> </ul> which on click <div class="openuserform" > I want to load a separate form e.g. $('.openusersform').live('click',(function(){ $('.userform').load('form page.php'); }); OK I can get the forms to load in the right div using $(this).next('.userform').show(); $('.userform').load('form page.php'); but it's very ugly (I think) and I can only every get the first form to process propery. It is laid out like (ul,li etc.) this so I can have each loaded form aligned under the relevant li. But I think there has to be a better way as I do not seem to get any if(){} stemnents working to process the forms i.e. if(form1){ $.ajax etc } if (form2) {more ajax} Suggestions please - thanks

• Problem with caching images on server- jQuery

  Hi I have the weirdest problem. I am implementing a simple gallery with a use of nivo slider jQuery plugin. Everything works perfectly when I test it on my local machine, however I am having an issue on an online hosted server. The images do not tend to appear when you first open the website. There seems to be an issue with caching the images. when you reload the page (simple f5) everything works fine. Rather than showing you the code, I think it would be better to show the site so you can see what firebug shows you: http://teslacreations.com/orangery/test.php Does anyone have any ideas how to solve it?

  The issue I am having is: How do I go from a variable pointing at an element to using CSS selectors? I want to make this work: function highlight(table) {$(table " > :even").toggleClass('highlight');} where table is a reference to a table element.   If I'm using jQuery's .on() function like this (there's more to it but this is the main problem area extracted): $(document).on("click", $("#contcont a, #leftnav li a, #leftnav li ul a, #mainarea-home a").not(".secitem-mid a") , function clicker(event, sData) { var $this = $(this); sHREF = $this.attr("href"); alert(sHREF); } ); I'm getting undefined so what would be the best way to actually get the element that's being clicked? I need .on() so that it always occurs, obviously, instead of having to attach it to all the elements every time new data is loaded (this is through Yahoo! stores so it's a necessity to do it this way).   I get data from another page using jQuery get method. But I have a small problem. Sometimes, data that I take from another page is too long so it's divided into pages. When the user clicks on 1, 2, 3, ... links he/she is redirected to the other page. However, I want data to be reloaded on the same page. • Deselecting an element in jQuery

  I have a collection of span elements. In the code I have a global variable that represents the "selected" object. Using the click event when a span is clicked I reset the object's class, reset the global variable, then set the object to the variable and change its class (to make it "highlighted"). • JQuery Facebook like Tag feature

  Hi, Does anyone know of a very basic tag JQuery script? (Facebook like tag feature) All I want to do is when I type @ in a text box for it to search an AJAX search, it then brings back a display name i.e. "Bob Johnson" and an associated Id and stores the Id in a comma delimited list. So an example would be the following .... [TextArea] [Name 1] [Name 2] [Name 3] The thing is it also needs to remove this entry (Id) once the tag gets removed, also it needs to load into a DIV which has a scrollbar so that the list doesn't get to big. If anyone know's how/if this is possible that would be great. Thanks.

My thought was defining Google Map object globally: map = new GMap2($("#map").get(0)); Which works perfectly in Firefox, however, map fails to load on internet explorer!! Any suggestions ?

• Sending JSON content type in from JavaScript objects ( jQuery ajax )

  I am having trouble sending JavaScript objects as a http request that only accepts json content-type. i.e "application/json" or "text/json" But, I am not sure why data2 ( stringified json ) works fine But, data1 ( json object ) does throws 400 ( Bad Request ). i.e I am not sure jQuery does not serialize the json object to a valid json string for the server to process. var data1 = ({ rating : 3 }); //does not work var data2 = '{ "rating" : 3}'; //works fine $.ajax({ url : "/rate", data : data1, type : "POST", contentType: "application/json", success: function(json){ console.log("Ajax Return :"+json); } });

• jQuery .ajax request failing

  I currently have a jQuery ajax request set up like this $(document).ready( function() { $.ajax({ url : "http://www.my-computer.com:51000/getJson", cache : false, dataType: "json", success : renderPage, error: handleError }) }); If I manually naviate to http://www.my-computer.com:51000/getJson, I see it returns a json string correctly, but with the above request, I always fall into "handleError" method, with textStatus "error" and not much helpful information. Can anyone help? Thanks! EDIT: sorry about the my-computer domain. this stackoverflow submission won't let me input localhost, so I put in an arbitrary domain instead. I've tried firebug, but had no luck in getting the json back.

  Is there any good practice to avoid your jQuery code silently fail? For example: $('.this #is:my(complexSelector)').doSomething(); I know that every time this line get executed, the selector is intended to match at least one element, or certain amount of elements. Is there any standard or good way to validate that? I thought about something like this: var $matchedElements = $('.this #is:my(complexSelector)'); if ($matchedElements.length < 0) throw 'No matched elements'; $matchedElements.doSomething(); Also I think unit testing would be a valid option instead of messing the code. My question may be silly, but I wonder whether there is a better option than the things that I'm currently doing or not. Also, maybe I'm in the wrong way checking if any element match my selector. However, as the page continues growing, the selectors could stop matching some elements and pieces of functionality could stop working inadvertently.

• Connecting to TFS via ASP.NET, jQuery and Phonegap

  I want to develop a mobile application that would allow the user the ability to run a suite of automated test cases housed in TFS. This is something I thought of this morning so it's all still very preliminary. But I'm curious as to what would be the best route for something like this? Or if it's even possible? Because the mobile devices from the users will vary from iphones to droids, I would probably want to incorporate something like Phonegap for it's cross platform capabilities. My initial thought was to develop in ASP.net/C# (which would be stored on a remote server), and have jQuery make calls to that server. Not sure if that would be the most appropriate way of handling this. I'm not too familiar with JSON but I have seen it as a suggestion on various sites to handle the returned data. Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.

When I load it in I need to remove the "../" before the image path, after it loads in so the path remains correct. Can this be done with JQuery? Many thanks in advance.

• looping thru a list of checkboxes and saving the values, now working properly

The program gives me a list of checkboxes but a user ID. then u user can change his selection and push the save button (id="btnSaveUserIntersts") and i am trying to save in the hidden textbox all the values of the checkboxes that was choosen. The problem is that i am getting all the time the same selections that came form the database and not getting the new selection that the user made. • Trying to change img src if another element is visible with jQuery

  I have a div ("panel" class) on my page that toggles open/closed on the click of a paragraph element ("flip" class), which has an image inside of it. Here's the HTML: <div class="panel">Contact info</div> <p class="flip"><img src="images/contactExpand.png" />Expand</p> And the jQuery: $(".flip").click(function(){ $(".panel").slideToggle("slow"); }); Everything works fine so far, but I want the image src to change to "contactCollapse.png" when the panel div is visible.
