  • Chnaging Displayed Image on a Webpage Using Javascript

    - by Gavin
Hi all, I'm having some trouble changing an image being displayed on a page by way of a dropdown menu selection. This works fine.. getting the dropdown menu to give me an alert when I make a selection. Even though the menu is embedded within a division, paragraph, and label tag, it still works. "availableImages" is the name of my menu. function imageSelect() { var index = document.getElementById("myForm").availableImages.selectedIndex; var value = document.getElementById("myForm").availableImages.options[index].value; alert("test " + value); // alert box pops up upon list item selection } However, within the same division, I am having an issue with changing the source of my image tag... Any ideas? I will provide more code if it will be helpful. Thanks! Gavin

  • Rails form submission

    - by Danny McClelland
Hi Everyone, I have a simple form to enter details of a new case (kase), it's working well and clicking submit stores the information and takes the user to the show.html.erb page. However, I wanted to move part of the form to the sidebar - to make things a little easier to see and use for the user, however, when I moved the section to the sidebar - anything entered during either a creation or edit within those sidebar fields is ignored. Any idea how I keep the fields in the sidebar, but include them as before? <% content_for :header do -%> Cases <% end -%> <% form_for(@kase) do |f| %> <%= f.error_messages %> <!-- #START SIDEBAR --> <% content_for :sidebar do -%> <% if @kase.avatar.exists? then %> <%= image_tag @kase.avatar.url %> <% else %> <p style="font-size:smaller"> You can upload an icon for this case that will display here. • How can I use TMask when the mask contains "["?

    - by Lobuno
I have been experimenting with TMask in Delphi 2010 and it seems to work as expected except in one situation: when the mask name contains [ or ] the mask always seem to return false. For example: var MaskObj : TMask; begin MaskObj:= TMask.Create('c:\[test]\*'); try Result:= MaskObj.Matches('c:\[test]\text'); finally FreeAndNil(MaskObj); end; end; returns false. ... Yes, [ and ] are legal characters in file name. So if I want to exclude for example all files in c:[test]*, what could I do here? My only solution is to do a StringReplace if [ is detected, but this will be slow for a large number of files: if (pos('[', Mask)>0) then begin mask:= ReplaceString(Mask, '[','_', etc... // and do the same for the file name--- end; Is there any other approach?

  • touchesBegan / Ended incorrectly identifying second, third, etc. touch

    - by Rob
    I have an issue where touchesBegan and touchesEnded are incorrectly identifying my second, third, etc touch if I continue to hold down my first touch. If I lift my finger up off the first touch, then it will recognize the next touch just fine. It's only when I hold my first touch down continuously and then try and touch a different area with a different finger at the same time. It will then incorrectly register that second touch as being from the first touch again. Any insights into how I can fix this? - (void)touchesBegan:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event { UITouch* touch = [touches anyObject]; NSString* filename = [listOfStuff objectAtIndex:[touch view].tag]; // do something with the filename now } - (void)touchesEnded:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event { ITouch* touch = [touches anyObject]; NSString* buttonPressed = [listOfStuff objectAtIndex:[touch view].tag]; // do something with this info now }

  • Ivy deletion of unwanted (older) artifacts from Ivy cache

    - by John M
I have a local Artifactory repository in which I have two jars for commons-logging: one for version 1.0.4 and one for version 1.1.1. I'm experimenting with using Ivy to download the older one with an ant task (with the proper dependency tag in ivy.xml), and then I change the "rev" attribute of this dependency tag to 1.1.1. When using ivy:resolve in ant, this newer jar gets successfully downloaded to my cache, but the older one is not deleted automatically, and I'd like to make this happen. I can't figure out how to do so after looking at the Ivy documentation; does anyone know how to get Ivy to delete old versions of artifacts when newer ones are downloaded, either with the resolve task or something else?

  • ASP.NET ASPX Designer question. Bug?

    - by Velika
Check out this Screenshot. Shouldn't a hierarchy list of tags appear here? Usually it appears. Sometimes, the tag "appears" there but without text (but the tag object is there as evident when you hover over it.) Other times, like this, nothing appears. It's a usual feature to see the hierarchy or tags which gives me easily access to the tags from design view for easy altering in the properties window. I think too many developers love to do things the hard way and sludge thru tags in HTML view and hardly use this, but it frustrates me when it doesn't work all the time. Is it me? Nah....

  • tmux: Suddenly, cannot horizontally split

    - by A__A__0
As root, using a reasonably default .profile and .shrc and an empty tmux.conf, I am unable to split the window horizontally. There are a number of cases to consider so I'll list them clearly. Using the keybinding + empty configuration: nothing happens Using the keybinding + my configuration: a bell is generated, nothing else; occasionally, the split will appear and disappear immediately (maybe it always does this, but I'm connecting over ssh so it may not make it through) Using tmux split-window -h with any config: tmux immediately exits I've posted here in order the server and client verbose logs generated by tmux -v during the third case: server started, pid 9523 socket path /tmp/tmux-0/default new client 7 got 100 from client 7 got 101 from client 7 got 102 from client 7 Recently I changed architectures, from FreeBSD 10.0 i386 to amd64, and I am still working through shared library incompatibilities. I suspect that this could be involved, but I can't imagine how an incompatibility of this sort could result in such a specific, isolated failure.

  • How to override equals method in java

    - by Subash Adhikari
I am trying to override equals method in java. I have a class People which basically has 2 data fields name and age. Now I want to override equals method so that I can check between 2 People objects. My code is as follows public boolean equals(People other){ boolean result; if((other == null) || (getClass() != other.getClass())){ result = false; } // end if else{ People otherPeople = (People)other; result = name.equals(other.name) && age.equals(other.age); } // end else return result; } // end equals But when I write age.equals(other.age) it gives me error as equals method can only compare String and age is Integer. Please help me fix this. Thanks is Advance.

  • Prevent line break between two elements in CSS

    - by Paul Alexander
For some basic layout work I'm doing, I'd like links that immediately follow a price to always be shown on the same line as the price. The price text is wrapped in a <span class="price"> tag while the link uses the buy-link class as in <a href="/buy" class="buy-link">Buy Now</a>. I'm looking for CSS that will automatically prevent line breaking between the span and a tag but I'm either missing something or it can't be done. I can easily prevent line breaks within the two tags - but not between them. I want to avoid wrapping both tags in a span with a white-space: nowrap manually and use pure CSS if possible.

I even implemented it using stackless python however i am getting into weird errors [Update: a quick search showed that the stack less does not allows multiple cores So are their any other alternatives?] def Propagate(start, end): print "running Thread with range: ",start, end def maxVote(nLabels): count = {} maxList = [] maxCount = 0 for nLabel in nLabels: if nLabel in count: count[nLabel] += 1 else: count[nLabel] = 1 #Check if the count is max if count[nLabel] > maxCount: maxCount = count[nLabel]; maxList = [nLabel,] elif count[nLabel]==maxCount: maxList.append(nLabel) return random.choice(maxList) for num in range(start, end): node=MapList[num] nLabels = [Label[k] for k in Adj[node]] if (nLabels!=[]): Label[node] = maxVote(nLabels) else: Label[node]=node However in above code the values assigned to Label, that is the change in dictionary are lost. Above propagate function is used as callable for MicroThreads (i.e. TaskLets)

  • I need to two bookmarkets for delicious

    - by dorelal
I am current researching on something and I need to create , lets say, two bookmarkets. If I need to read this article later then I just want to click on that bookmarket and it should tag the current open page with read_it_later tag. The second bookmarket should do similar thing. This one is for watch_video_later. I don't want any prompt or anything. I looked around but could not find any working delicious bookmarklet. You can assume that my userid on delicious is dorelal. Thanks I must use delicious because there are other people collaborating on this one.

  • Writing a rails validator with integer

    - by user297008
I was trying to write a validation for Rails to ensure that a price entered on a form was greater than zero. It works…sort of. The problem is that when I run it, val is turned into an integer, so it thinks that .99 is less than .1. What's going on, and how should I fix the code? class Product < ActiveRecord::Base protected def self.validates_greater_than_zero(*attr_names) validates_each(attr_names) do |record, attr, val| record.errors.add(attr, "should be at least 0.01 (current val = #{val.to_f})") if val.nil? || val < 0.01 end end public validates_presence_of :title, :description, :image_url validates_numericality_of :price validates_greater_than_zero :price end

  • Delphi OLE - How to avoid errors like "The requested member of the collection does not exist"?

    - by Edwin
Hi, I'm automating Word with Delphi, but some times I got an error message: The requested member of the collection does not exist It seems that the Item member of the Styles collection class does not always exist and some times causes the above mentioned error. My workaround is to catch the exception and skip it, but is there anyway to detect it instead of using the try...except block? The problem with the try...except block is that when debugging the raised exception is annoying... My code example: var aWordDoc: _WordDocument i: Integer; ovI: OleVariant; wordStyle: Style; begin for i := 1 to aWordDoc.Styles.Count do begin ovI := i; try wordStyle := aWordDoc.Styles.Item(ovI); except Continue;//skip if any error occurred. end; //do something with wordStyle end; end

  • Rails: Cannot add :precision or :scale options with change_column in a migration?

    - by Josh Pinter
This seems to have been asked before: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1402547/rails-decimal-precision-and-scale But when running a change_column migration for :precision or :scale they don't actually affect the schema or database, but db:migrate runs without errors. My migration file looks like this: class ChangePrecisionAndScaleOfPaybackPeriodInTags < ActiveRecord::Migration def self.up change_column :tags, :payback_period, :decimal, { :scale => 3, :precision => 10 } end def self.down change_column :tags, :payback_period, :decimal end end But my schema (and the data) remains as: t.decimal "rate" # previous column t.decimal "payback_period" t.string "component_type" # next column Anybody else have this issue? Thanks, Josh

  • Rails - Multiple top level domains and a single session/cookie

    - by Thadius B
Hello all, I've been struggling with this for quite awhile and haven't been able to find a solution. I need a user to be able to view multiple top level domains with a single login. My understanding is that this needs to be set in environment.rb and called with before_dispatch. This is what I've come up with: require 'activesupport' require 'dispatcher' module ActionController class Dispatcher def set_session_domain ActionController::Base.session_options.update :session_domain => "#{@request.host}" end before_dispatch :set_session_domain end end However, this does not seem to be working when I try and pull the values from session[:session_domain]. Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • Ruby on Rails - nested attributes: How do I access the parent model from child model

    - by TMaYaD
I have a couple of models like so class Bill < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :bill_items belongs_to :store accepts_nested_attributes_for :bill_items end class BillItem <ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :product belongs_to :bill validate :has_enough_stock def has_enough_stock stock_available = Inventory.product_is(self.product).store_is(self.bill.store).one.quantity errors.add(:quantity, "only #{stock_available} is available") if stock_available < self.quantity end end The above validation so obviously doesn't work because when I'm reading the bill_items from nested attributes inside the bill form, the attributes bill_item.bill_id or bill_item.bill are not available before being saved. So how do I go about doing something like that?

  • What HTML is permitted within Flash text fields.

    - by JasonS
Hi, Could someone clarify for me what input Flash accepts for its text fields? I am tasked with managing a content management system, this then generates XML which power's flash sites. I have nothing to do with Flash. I work with PHP. Currently we use a rather temperamental Flash Text Editor which is prone to all sorts of troubles. I tried to plug-in tinyMce but it broke the Flash templates. I then recently spoke to someone who said that flash should take any HTML. Now I am confused as this would point to a dodgy template. Can someone clarify. Do Flash text fields handle all HTML or just a limited subset of HTML. If it is the latter, what happens if it comes across a tag it doesn't recognise? Does it display the tag or break? Thanks, Jason

  • Nested resources in namespace form_for

Problem The form_for helper incorrectly determines the path to my nested resource inside of a namespace. The models in question are: Forum::Thread and Forum::Reply respectively, located in a subfolder called "forum" under my models directory. • How to draw diagonal table borders in latex, like in excel ?

    - by Amyn Bennamane
Is it possible to draw diagonal (parallelogram) cells in LaTeX: the cell content is diagonal, and the cell's originally vertical borders are also diagonal. Here is what I managed to do using the rotating package: \begin{tabular}{|r|c|c|} \hline \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ & \begin{rotate}{45}Trying to save some horizontal space\end{rotate} & \begin{rotate}{45}While keeping headers readable\end{rotate} \\ \hline this & is & a \\ \hline sample & latex & table \\ \hline \end{tabular} Here is a screenshot of the output vs what is possible using excel: Thanks.

  • How to secure licensekey generation

    - by Jakob Gade
Scenario, simplified for brevity: A developer creates an application for a customer. The customer sells this app to end-users. The app requires a license key to run, and this key is generated by the customer for each end-user with a simple tool created by the developer. The license key contains an expiry date for the license and is encrypted so the end-user can’t tamper with it. The problem here is that the developer (or anybody who has a copy of the license key generator) can easily create valid license keys. Should this generator fall into the wrong hands, it could spell disaster for the customers business. Ideally, the customer would have to use a password to create new license keys. And this password would be unknown to the developer, and somehow baked into the decryption algorithm in the application so it will fail if an attempt to use an unauthorized key is made. How would you implement a solution for this problem that is both transparent and secure?
