• How do I create a game that runs on Windows, iOS and Android?

  I use C++ to create windows games and now I want to step into another other OS like Android or iOS. I'm totally familiar with C++ so I tried to create app for iOS using objective C it was working awesome. However, I also want to publish games for Android but not by using Java. I don't want to create a single game 5-6 times for other platforms. Is their any way that if I create game for Windows then it will work in Android and iOS ? Or should I use Action Script 3.0? If I use action script 3.0, will it require Flash player to run the game in Windows, Android, iOS?

• Audio programming resources

  I've been very interested in the last few months about getting in to audio programming (I'm from a musical background). I've been a .NET developer for two years and have also done some objective c for an iPhone app recently. I realise I would probably need to work on my C++ chops and have been having a play around with FMOD EX and doing a lot of research into the industry. I was just wondering if anyone could suggest some good resources for audio programming (be they websites, podcasts, books, videos, online courses etc).   I'm still pretty new to game programming and any tutorial that I have worked with stuck to only games with the initial screen. I want to start creating my own games but there are a few things that I still need to learn. One of them is how to create a game that side-scrolls. For example; Mario... Or ANY type of game like that... Can anyone give me a small example to create something like that. I'm not asking for any specific language because currently in school I am learning javascript but I know some c++/java/processing/objective-c as well. So any of those languages would be fine and I could probably implement it in any of the others...   I asked a question relating to similar to this already, but I think this is a clearer objective of what Im trying to achieve.. or whether its possible at all! Im trying to find a transformation (matrix ideally) which would transform the 8 points of a 3d unit cube to 8 arbitrary points in space. The 8 target points have no known structure. e.g: My gut feeling is that a matrix is unable to provide this xform since the cube faces vertices can be concave.. but are there any other methods of transformation? • 2-components color model

  RGB is the natural color model for OpenGL. But a lot of other color models exist. For example, CMY(K) for printers, YUV for JPEG, the little cousins YCbCr and YCoCg, HSL & HSV from the 70's, and so on. All these models tend to share a common property : they are based on 3 components. Therefore my question is : Does it exist a 2-components color model ? I'm surprised to not find any. I was expecting something along the line of Hue+light could exist. I guess it cannot be as "complete" as a true 3-components color model, but a fine-enough approximation will be good for my usecase. The end objective is to store the 2 components into a single BC5 texture (GL_COMPRESSED_RED_GREEN_RGTC2 in OpenGL). The 3rd component requires a second fetch into a second texture, which hurts performance.

  I am a java developer (web app and standalone applications) who knows JavaScript, HTML, CSS and has mostly worked on Web applications. I have no knowledge of C/C++ or any other lower level languages. I feel like I should strengthen my CS basics by learning a fundamental language. Should it be C or C++? I am also inclined to learn Objective-C. Does it need basics of C or C++? Or should I go for new languages like Python, Google's Go etc. I know this is a cliche question asked very frequently, but I can use some help here.

  Before you chastise me for asking this, I have an Adobe Air app that has a lot of investment in it, and if there is a way to utilize the existing code-base in any way, it is worth considering. I have heard news reports in passing about Adobe creating some kind of tool to allow flash or air apps to be ported to native objective-c code, but the information found in google is mostly commentary on the one-time Apple blockade. My question(s) is/are this: Is it even possible, at any level, to use an existing Air app to create a Mac Store app? If possible, what are the resources I can use to accomplish this?

• Use Android NDK for portability with iOS?

  I am currently planning to implement a little painting app using OpenGL ES 1.1. I believe this question applies to any OpenGL ES project. I am starting development on Android and I would like to know if you would recommend writing the drawing logic (using OpenGL) in C++ with the NDK so it will easier to port to iOS, or to use the Java API and being locked on Android. The reason I am asking that is because I have seen mixed opinions on the Web about using the NDK (some people say it is an added level of complexity). From what I have already seen, I believe that I should go with the Java API since I am starting on Android and then, if I decide to go on iOS, to rewrite the OpenGL logic in Objective-C or C++. This should be pretty straightforward since the calls appear to be the same in both languages. What do you think? Am I right?

So aside from C# I want to learn a new language. Time is precious and I want to give my focus to a language which have a future. My language list is: Scala (Powerful usage in Twitter) Go (Getting popular and channels are pretty awesome) Erlang (Stable server side programs. • Which graphics library should I be using?

  I have been developing and maintaining a WPF application, for which I've recently been tasked with adding a 3D representation of some of the data. I'm new to graphics programming in every kind of way so I'm curious whether I should stick with 3D graphics capabilities built into WPF or should I investigate other solutions, like OpenTK or SharpGL My objective is to represent the data so that it will eventually appear similar to: with nodes connected by lines. I need to rotate the image around each axis and each node will be a 3D model of the device it represents. So far, I've been able to experiment with the tutorial outlined here: Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) 3D Tutorial and it was helpful as an introduction. But I can see that there are other ways to implement 3D graphics solutions and I wonder if they are more suitable for my needs, or should I stick with the in-built WPF solution? What are the pros and cons of each?

  Hi, I have been doing Objective-C programming over the past few weeks, and I have learnt a lot. However, I see that there are other Web-companies offering services to consumers directly from their website that allow consumers to create their apps through a point and click and drag features without any code. Clearly they are more cost effective and fast than having a developer write an app. I was wondering if there are any advantages then of having a developer build an app for someone, other than the obvious advantage that its got a custom look and feel. Could someone please clarify, since Im new and would like to evaluate whether it is worthwhile spending time towards learning a whole new development environment when someone could just use a webservice to make an app for multiple platforms Thanks

• Is there any Google Adsense revenue if a visitor rolls over (hovers) on an ad unit?

  I have noticed an increase in interactive flash animations especilly on 300px wide adsense ads. Many of them ask the visitor to rollover to either reveal what the ad is about, show a clip, etc. So I wonder: the visitor is giving attention to this ad, is viewing its message -- without clicking on it. In essence, the ad agency's objective is accomplished without a click, which would be a significant money saver if PPC is considered. This seems very ingenious on their part, and I wonder how this is handled by Google. Shouldn't there be a fee for a publisher if visitors interact with ads, regardless of clicks? CTR becomes irrelevant in this context. Are you aware of anything being discussed in this respect?
