  • PresentModalViewController problem.

    - by james.ingham
    I have a new view controller on the iPhone which I call using the following line of code: [self presentModalViewController:controller animated:NO]; This works great if animation is on, but I am looking to have an instant switch. The problem is when I set animation to NO, the whole view shifts 20px to the right (it is always in landscape mode) as if there is a status bar but in portrait mode!? In this example the yellow space is the new view controller. I've tried this in a new project and the same thing happens. It may be a bug but does anyone have a fix? Thanks

  • Zend_Table_Db and Zend_Paginator and Zend_Paginator_Adapter_DbSelect

    - by Uffo
    I have the following query: $this->select() ->where("`name` LIKE ?",'%'.mysql_escape_string($name).'%') Now I have the Zend_Paginator code: $paginator = new Zend_Paginator( // $d is an instance of Zend_Db_Select new Zend_Paginator_Adapter_DbSelect($d) ); $paginator->getAdapter()->setRowCount(200); $paginator->setItemCountPerPage(15) ->setPageRange(10) ->setCurrentPageNumber($pag); $this->view->data = $paginator; As you see I'm passing the data to the view using $this->view->data = $paginator Before I didn't had $paginator->getAdapter()->setRowCount(200);I could determinate If I have any data or not, what I mean with data, if the query has some results, so If the query has some results I show the to the user, if not, I need to show them a message(No results!) But in this moment I don't know how can I determinate this, since count($paginator) doesn't work anymore because of $paginator->getAdapter()->setRowCount(200);and I'm using this because it taks about 7 sec for Zend_Paginator to count the page numbers. So how can I find If my query has any results?

  • CALayer flickers when drawing a path

    - by Alexey
    I am using a CALayer to display a path via drawLayer:inContext delegate method, which resides in the view controller of the view that the layer belongs to. Each time the user moves their finger on the screen the path is updated and the layer is redrawn. However, the drawing doesn't keep up with the touches: there is always a slight lag in displaying the last two points of the path. It also flickers, but only while displaying the last two-three points again. If I just do the drawing in the view's drawRect, it works fine and the drawing is definitely fast enough. Does anyone know why it behaves like this? I suspect it is something to do with the layer buffering, but I couldn't find any documentation about it.

  • Running a custom VirtualPathProvider with a PreCompiled website

    - by epilog
    Hi, currently I have a custom VirtualPathProvider in a Asp.net MVC web application. This VirtualPathProvider checks the Area from the route "/{Area}/{Controller}/..." and uses the NameSpace.{Area}.Main.dll module to return the views that are contained in that assembly as Embedded Resources. This works great and I don't have to deploy any ascx, js, css files. Now my problem is this: I would like to precompile the aspx and ascx files in the assembly and instead of having the views as embedded resources I would have the view class with all the Response.Write and dings and dongs. I can precompile the views using the aspnet_compiler but I keep getting an error when ever the ViewEngine tries to find the view and fails. My main goal is to have a way for the first time usage of a certain view/usercontrol would be faster and don't wait for the compilation to happen. This is a requirement since the application could be grouped into plugins and this plugins be deployed into the Bin directory. Any thoughts? With best regards Carlos Sobrinho

  • [[UIDevice currentDevice] orientation] always null

    - by Toby Wilson
    As per the title. Calling [[UIDevice currentDevice] BeginGeneratingDeviceOrientationNotifications] has no effect. DidRotateToInterfaceOrientation etc events are working fine, but I need to be able to poll the device orientation arbitrarily. How can I fix/do this? The long story: I have a tab application with a navigation controller on each tab. The root view of tab number one is a graph that goes full screen when the orientation changes to landscape; however this needs to be checked whenever the view appears as the orientation change could have occurred elsewhere, so I was hoping to poll the orientation state whenever this view appears.

  • How to push UIViewController into UINavigationController from seperate UIView of different UIViewCon

    - by Kundan
    I have a UIViewController(AbcViewController) with NavigationController.AbcViewController uses UIView(AbcView) as its view. AbcView has a UITableView. I have set This TableView's datasource in AbcViewController and delegate in its SuperView i.e. AbcView. How will I push another UIViewController(XyzViewcontroller) into navigationController when I select a row in this table because it gives "error: request for member 'navigationController' in something not a structure or union" when I do this : [self.navigationController pushViewController:xyzViewcontroller animated:TRUE]; I also did this : AbcViewController *parentVC; [parentVC.navigationController pushViewController:xyzViewcontroller animated:TRUE]; Though it builds successfully but XyzViewcontroller's view does not appear. It does not push XyzViewcontroller's view into navigationController. Thanks For Any Help.

  • How to Force a Method Call on a Property or Method of an Object in PHP?

    - by Noah Goodrich
    In my View (using Zend_View so the the view is an object), I make calls to object properties and methods to populate the template like so: <?= $this->user->name ?> // Outputs John Doe <br/> <?= $this->user->getCompany()->name ?> // Outputs Acme <br/> <?= $this->method() ?> // Outputs foobar If I make it so that all property requests (like for 'user') go through __get() is there any way that I can catch the subsequent calls so that I can force a method call on the final outputted value? For example so that I could do automatic escaping of output. As I see it right now, I either have to escape the input as it goes into the database or use compiled templates like Smarty does, or switch to assigning every variable to the View object so that it has direct control to force escaping before outputting the data.

  • In SQL Server Business Intelligence, why would I create a report model from an OLAP cube?

    - by ngm
    In Business Intelligence Developer Studio, I'm wondering why one would want to create a report model from an OLAP cube. As far as I understand it, OLAP cubes and report models are both business-oriented views of underlying structures (usually relational databases) that may not mean much to a business user. The cube is a multidimensional view in terms of dimensions and measures, and the report model is... well I'm not sure entirely -- is it a more business-oriented, but still essentially relational view? Anyway, in Report Builder I can connect directly to both an OLAP cube or a report model. So I don't see why, if I have an OLAP cube which already provides a business-oriented view of the data suitable for end-users, why I would then convert that to a report model and use that in Report Builder instead. I think I'm obviously missing some fundamental difference between report models and cubes -- any help appreciated!

  • How to implement didReceiveMemoryWarning ?

    - by hib
    Hello all , I have developed a simple location aware iPhone application which is functionally working very well to our expectations except in the low memory condition of the phone . In low memory condition of the phone my app just got crashes and If I increases the phone memory by freeing up some space it again start working well without any crash . when I do some googling on the problem I found that in the low memory conditions the os will send didReceiveMemoryWarning to all the controllers in the current hierarchy so that each one of them should implement didReceiveMemoryWarning method and also set nil to iboutlet for the view that is currently not visible . I have also read somewhere that if the view for that controller is not visible the method setView with nil parameter will be called and if there are some outlet variables attached to view there will be problem in removing them. So with all these fundas what is the best to handle low level memory condition raised by the Iphone by implementing the didReceiveMemoryWarning and viewDidUnload methods. Please give a proper example or link if possible for the solution of the above problem . thanks.

  • shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation isn't getting called

    - by morgancodes
    What sort of conditions might prevent my UIViewController's shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation method from being called? I've resorted to using NSNotificationCenter to listen for UIDeviceOrientationDidChangeNotification events, but would love to get the autoRotation behavior working properly. A couple shots in the dark about what's going wrong: Maybe I'm not creating my view controller correctly? Maybe it needs to be inserted in the responder chain and somthething I'm doing is preventing that from happening normally? This seems unlikely to me since my view controller is recieving touch events. Maybe the fact that the view contained by my controller relies on OpenGL has something to do with shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation not getting called? Do either of these sound remotely possible as being responsible? Any other ideas of things to look at?

  • UITableView backgroundColor always grey on iPad

    - by rjobidon
    Hi, When I set the backgroundColor for my UITableView it works fine on iPhone (device and simulator) but NOT on the iPad simulator. Instead I get a light grey background for any color I set including groupTableViewBackgroundColor. Steps to reproduce: Create a new navigation-based project. Open RootViewController.xib and set the table view style to "Grouped". Add this responder to the RootViewController:- (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; self.view.backgroundColor = [UIColor blackColor]; } Select Simulator SDK 3.2, build and run. You will get a black background (device and simulator). Select your target in the project tree. Click on Project : Upgrade Current Target for iPad. Build and run. You will get a light grey background. Revert the table view style to Plain and you will get a black background. Thanks for your help!

  • Constructing / destructing QApplication causes QWebView to mess up rendering of HTML

    - by Matthias Ganninger
    We need to create & destroy instances of QApplication, as we want to use Qt in a plug-in to an existing host application. void multiQT() { int argc = 0; QApplication app(argc, NULL); QWebView view; view.setHtml("<html><head><title>Title</title></head><body><h1>Hello World</h1></body></html>"); view.show(); app.exec(); } main(int argc, char** argv) { // First call works fine, QWebView renders the HTML just fine multiQT(); // Second call fails, QWebView strips HTML tags from HTML text and // and renders "TitleHello World" multiQT(); } When showing the QWebView the second time, it does not render the HTML properly. Do we need to do some additional (re-)initializations in QApplication or QWebView?

  • Renderpartial or renderaction

    - by femi
    have an action that generates active vacancies. The code is below; public ViewResult OpenVacancies() { var openvacancies = db.GetActiveVacancies(); return View(openvacancies); } I want to use this list on several pages so i guess the best thing to use is html.renderaction (please correct me if i am wrong here). Please note that the view and .ascx control are in an Area. I then created a view by right clicking inside the action and create a .ascx and a strongly typed view of Vacancy. I chose a view content of "List". I then added this line to the required page; <% Html.RenderAction("OpenVacancies"); % Please note that the view and .ascx control are in an Area. The error i got is; The type or namespace name 'Vacancy' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) the .ascx code is below; <%@ Control Language="C#" Inherits="System.Web.Mvc.ViewUserControl" % <table> <tr> <th></th> <th> VacancyID </th> <th> JobTitle </th> <th> PositionID </th> <th> LocationID </th> <th> JobDescription </th> <th> JobConditions </th> <th> Qualifications </th> <th> RequiredSkills </th> <th> Certifications </th> <th> AdvertDate </th> <th> AdvertExpiryDate </th> <th> Status </th> <th> StaffLevel </th> <th> LineManagerEmail </th> <th> ApprovalFlag </th> <th> RequisitionDate </th> </tr> <% foreach (var item in Model) { %> <tr> <td> <%= Html.ActionLink("Edit", "Edit", new { id=item.VacancyID }) %> | <%= Html.ActionLink("Details", "Details", new { id=item.VacancyID })%> | <%= Html.ActionLink("Delete", "Delete", new { id=item.VacancyID })%> </td> <td> <%= Html.Encode(item.VacancyID) %> </td> <td> <%= Html.Encode(item.JobTitle) %> </td> <td> <%= Html.Encode(item.PositionID) %> </td> <td> <%= Html.Encode(item.LocationID) %> </td> <td> <%= Html.Encode(item.JobDescription) %> </td> <td> <%= Html.Encode(item.JobConditions) %> </td> <td> <%= Html.Encode(item.Qualifications) %> </td> <td> <%= Html.Encode(item.RequiredSkills) %> </td> <td> <%= Html.Encode(item.Certifications) %> </td> <td> <%= Html.Encode(String.Format("{0:g}", item.AdvertDate)) %> </td> <td> <%= Html.Encode(String.Format("{0:g}", item.AdvertExpiryDate)) %> </td> <td> <%= Html.Encode(item.Status) %> </td> <td> <%= Html.Encode(item.StaffLevel) %> </td> <td> <%= Html.Encode(item.LineManagerEmail) %> </td> <td> <%= Html.Encode(item.ApprovalFlag) %> </td> <td> <%= Html.Encode(String.Format("{0:g}", item.RequisitionDate)) %> </td> </tr> <% } %> </table> <p> <%= Html.ActionLink("Create New", "Create") %> </p>

  • Why is android:FLAG_BLUR_BEHIND creating a gradient background in my new activity instead of bluring

    - by nderraugh
    Hi, I've got two activities. One is supposed to be a blur in front of the other. The background activity has several ImageViews which are set up as thin gradients extending across most of the screen and 10dip high. When I start the second activity it sets the background as a gradient occupying the entire window space, that is it appears to be fill_parent'd for both height and width. If I comment out the ImageViews then it blurs and looks as expected. Any thoughts? Here's the code doing the blur. import android.app.Activity; import android.os.Bundle; import android.view.View; import android.view.WindowManager; import android.view.View.OnClickListener; public class TransluscentBlurSummaryB extends Activity { @Override protected void onCreate(Bundle icicle) { super.onCreate(icicle); getWindow().setFlags(WindowManager.LayoutParams.FLAG_BLUR_BEHIND, WindowManager.LayoutParams.FLAG_BLUR_BEHIND); getWindow().getAttributes().dimAmount = 0.5f; getWindow().setFlags(WindowManager.LayoutParams.FLAG_DIM_BEHIND, WindowManager.LayoutParams.FLAG_DIM_BEHIND); setContentView(R.layout.sheetbdetails); OnClickListener clickListener = new OnClickListener() { public void onClick(View v) { TransluscentBlurSummaryB.this.finish(); } }; findViewById(R.id.sheetbdetailstable).setOnClickListener(clickListener); } } And here's the layout with the ImageView gradients. <?xml version="1.0" • Android: No icon for Notification

    - by Omer
    Hello, I wanted to create a notification without the icon in the status bar (the state that is not expanded). I tried the custom expanded view and set the icon for this view only. But it did not work. When I give 0 as icon to the constructor, the icon disappears but notification also does not appear in the expanded view. Notification notification = new Notification(0, "", 0); I tried a lot of combinations but didn't come out with a solution. By the way, I know it is working because I saw this feature in some apps. Thanks.

  • Uiscrollview displayed with focus at its center iphone sdk

    - by neha
    Hi all, I'm having a scrollview and a view over it both of which I'm creating through interface builder. But whenever I run the program the scrollview displays the part of the view which is almost at its center. It is scrollable, so when I pull it down, I can see the text in the view above but when I leave it's again positioned the earlier way i.e. somewhat down the actual (0,0) position. Can anybody hint me at the property which should be set in order to fix this?

  • How to change id value when using Html.DropDownListFor helper in asp.net mvc 2.0?

    - by chobo2
    Hi I have a partial view that has something like this <%= Html.DropDownListFor(m => m.SelectedProductName, Model.ProductList, "Select a Product") %> Now you can create a new product and edit a existing product. Both editing and creating use the same form. The create is on the main page on load up. Edit popus up in a jquery u.i model dialog and renders a new partial view. So as far as the page is concerned is that I have 2 dropdown boxes with the same "id" which is bad since they should be unique. So how do I change the id? So when the edit loads it might have a id of "editSelectedProductName"? I tried to do this in the view model public string SelectedProductName{ get; set; } ViewModelConstructor() { SelectedProductName = "EditSelectedProductName"; } But it seems to not care and keeps using "SelectedProductName" as the product name. Thanks

  • ASP.NET MVC unit test controller with HttpContext

    - by user299592
    I am trying to write a unit test for my one controller to verify if a view was returned properly, but this controller has a basecontroller that accesses the HttpContext.Current.Session. Everytime I create a new instance of my controller is calls the basecontroller constructor and the test fails with a null pointer exception on the HttpContext.Current.Session. Here is the code: public class BaseController : Controller { protected BaseController() { ViewData["UserID"] = HttpContext.Current.Session["UserID"]; } } public class IndexController : BaseController { public ActionResult Index() { return View("Index.aspx"); } } [TestMethod] public void Retrieve_IndexTest() { // Arrange const string expectedViewName = "Index"; IndexController controller = new IndexController(); // Act var result = controller.Index() as ViewResult; // Assert Assert.IsNotNull(result, "Should have returned a ViewResult"); Assert.AreEqual(expectedViewName, result.ViewName, "View name should have been {0}", expectedViewName); } Any ideas on how to mock the Session that is accessed in the base controller so the test in the descendant controller will run?

  • What makes MVVM uniquely suited to WPF?

    - by Reed Copsey
    The Model-View-ViewModel is very popular with WPF and Silverlight. I've been using this for my most recent projects, and am a very large fan. I understand that it's a refinement of MVP. However, I am wondering exactly what unique characteristics of WPF (and Silverlight) allow MVVM to work, and prevent (or at least make difficult) this pattern from working using other frameworks or technologies. I know MVVM has a strong dependency on the powerful data binding technology within WPF. This is the one feature which many articles and blogs seem to mention as being the key to WPF providing the means of the strong separation of View from ViewModel. However, data binding exists in many forms in other UI frameworks. There are even projects like Truss that provide WPF-style databinding to POCO in .NET. What features, other than data binding, make WPF and Silverlight uniquely suited to Model-View-ViewModel?

  • 'NSInvalidArgumentException' UIButton IBAction Error

    - by Graeme
    Hi, I have a button in a view which refuses to work. I've got in working in a blank, default view application from X-Code, but in none of my applications will it work, instead it gives me the following error. Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: '* -[UIViewController showVicInfo:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x3c084f0' The debugger isn't any help either. I've made sure that I hook up the button to the file's owner (not the other way around) as well. Below is the code for the action. And I know it's not the alert view, because the breakpoint doesn't even reach there. about.h @interface about : UIViewController { } -(IBAction)showInfo:(id)sender; about.m -(IBAction)showVicInfo:(id)sender { UIAlertView *myAlert = [[UIAlertView alloc] initWithTitle:@"No Internet Connection" message:@"You require an internet connection via WiFi or cellular network for iFirelert to work." delegate:self cancelButtonTitle:@"OK, thanks" otherButtonTitles:nil]; [myAlert show]; [myAlert release]; }

  • Asp.Net WriteSubsitution vs PartialView - the right way

    - by radu-negrila
    Hi, I have a partial view that should not be cached in a output cached MVC view. Usually you write non-cached content by using Response.WriteSubstitution. The problem is that WriteSubstitution takes as a parameter a HttpResponseSubstitutionCallback callback which looks like this: public delegate string HttpResponseSubstitutionCallback(System.Web.HttpContext context) This is where things get complicated since there is no easy/fun way to generate the html on the fly. You have to do a hack like this. So the question is: Is there an easier way to make a partial view not cached ?

  • Custom UITableViewCell not properly hiding views

    - by adamweeks
    I am using apple's custom table view cell code and modifying the drawRect code within the cell's view to look like I want it to. I've changed it to have some UILabels as well as a UIProgressView. If the data the cell is being built on doesn't have a certain field, I want the UIProgressView to be hidden. This works for a little while, but when a cell gets requeued, the progress view will start displaying again, even when I set it to hidden = YES. I've tried just not creating the ProgressView unless the data was there and that didn't work either. I thought the answer was in the [self setNeedsDisplay] but that doesn't seem to help. Here is the code for the progressview from drawRect that continues to be displayed: UIProgressView *c1Progress = [[UIProgressView alloc]initWithFrame:CGRectMake(20.0, 70.0, 280.0, 12.0)]; float iProgress = (value / target); c1Progress.progress = iProgress; if (!dataExists) { c1Progress.hidden = YES; } [self addSubview:criteria1Progress]; [c1Progress release];

  • iPhone: [subview release] removes my subview from the display

    - by Stefan Klumpp
    I have these two pieces of code. The first one works perfectly: UIView *tmp = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0.0f, 60.0f, 296.0f, 44.0f)]; [self.dynamicView addSubview:tmp]; [tmp release]; The second one is pretty much the same, but the view doesn't show up. CommentBox *commentBox = [[CommentBox alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0.0f, 0.0f, 296.0f, 44.0f)]; [self.dynamicView addSubview:commentBox]; [commentBox release]; // Why does this remove the view? If I remove the [commentBox release] the view surprisingly appears. But I don't see a different between these two code snippets. The init for the CommentBox looks like this: - (id)initWithFrame:(CGRect)frame { if ((self = [super initWithFrame:frame])) { // Load the nib: NSArray *nibObjects = [[NSBundle mainBundle] loadNibNamed:@"CommentBox" owner:self options:nil]; self = [nibObjects objectAtIndex:0]; } return self; }
